Not close enough to cause anything problems for us other than smoke in the air occasionally. Those fires are in the hills surrounding our valley, but not right near me...probably 3-4 hours away, depending on which fire. It's terrible though and makes me sad to see the news. So many people losing homes.

Hey Guys!
It looks like I have no choice but to go back to my original school schedule due to financial aid junk, which means I only have this week off before starting class next Monday. I will have about two and a half weeks off after this class though, which may be better. This will be a fun class: History of Western Civilization. I'm a history buff, so I'll like it a lot, as long as no speeches are involved. 
It's nice and humid here today, it has finally felt like summer the last couple of days. I love it! I haven't put the A/C in the window yet; I'll do that when the humidity is so high that it's hard to breathe.

Hey Batman! I really enjoyed my history classes too. I think it's all in the teachers too. They can make it soooo boring, or make it really come alive. I was lucky and had good ones.

Hate your guts Ours has ran on and off since 6am this morning...it was already warm out at 5:30, so no whole-house fan like we usually do first thing. Not too humid though...about average for here. Good thing, because it's 106 and miserable enough outside!

satellite tv. We can't get cable out here, and even free tv has terrible reception, like less than 50% good. I could barely make out L&O
