If I can ever get myself motivated, I need to go through my stuff and get rid of a good deal of it.

I like moving in an odd sort of way. There's something so cool about moving into a house that has been scrubbed from top to bottom with nothing in it and knowing when everything is moved in that it's perfectly clean behind and under every single piece of furniture. I definitely don't like the work of moving though...packing and unpacking. We plan on one more move, and that's it!

We have a houseful of furniture, computers, guitars, and personal stuff that would take a truck or two to move, but not much clutter or useless items. I'm not a minimalist at all, but I am a tosser. I can't stand having things around that no one uses or has no proper place to be stored, so things get tossed regularly around here. It's good in one way, because it keeps the clutter way down and keeps my house pretty organized, but it's bad at times too, because I sometimes toss something impulsively and wish a week later I had it

I'm a tosser too, but I have to do it when Larry isn't around, he digs broken stuff back out saying he will get around to fixing them someday. We have an entire drawer full of those computer mouse things with the ball on the bottom. No one uses them anymore.

Larry must be related to Loverly. She does the same thing.

BTW... who's the cutie?

lol Kath! WHN knows if he has a "project" that is currently useless, he better hide it in the garage He does have a a space in the music room for his projects, usually his music equipment and I don't mess with it, but they soooo better stay there!

Hey James!

Part (a small part!) of my problem is that I moved into this house when two other women lived here, one of them for over 5 years already at that time. In the following years, there have been at least 8 other women besides me, and I'm not counting the roommates who were here before me. I think it would be a conservative estimate that at least 15 women have lived here since the original renter (Serena) moved in. I don't think the house has ever had a verythorough cleaning in all that time.

This house is just dirty, no matter how I try to clean. A lot of it is due to age and shortcuts by the owner. I have beautiful wood floors that are unfinished and stained. The windows are original to the house and they are drafty. There is no insulation in the walls, and there is no central heating or air conditioning.

On top of all that, between all my stuff and all Andrew's stuff, the house is cluttered and not in a condition where I will invite anyone over :(

I really like a lot about this house, but there's a lot that bothers me. If we do get the chance to move, I'd probably take it if it was an acceptable place. There's a faint possibility on the horizon, and it's one that I like, but it's completely in God's hands.

I'm going to try to commit myself to cleaning out at least one half of a cupboard a night, if not an entire cupboard. Depends on the size of the cupboard and my energy after work

That's Linz when she was like maybe 8. She is a cutie pie. :)

That sounds do-able :)

I know what you mean when you say that you're a tosser. Just a word of warning. Don't ever say that if you're in Australia or the UK. It has a completely different meaning here.

lol Bill! It happens to the best of us

Kath, that is an adorable picture of your baby I just got a couple of really cute ones of Kristen...one with her best friend, and one with her boyfriend. I think I'll email them to Sharon and see if she can work her avatar magic on them. If I get Kristen's permission to post them.

Kimmy, I think it's a much more realistic goal to decide to clean out one portion at a time rather than the entire area. You'll probably get much more done that way.

Trish, I have no idea what that means there, but I'll be sure to keep it to myself if I'm ever in the area!

Britt called me last night, sobbing her heart out. One of her kittens died She doesn't know what happened...she just came home from work and it was dead. She thought it was sleeping deeply and went to move him with the others again, but he was dead. I have never heard her so heartbroken in my life. Then I started crying because I felt so bad not being able to be there with her. I'll be glad when her husband is back home. I didn't realize how much peace of mind it gave me knowing he's there for her. If you think about it, say a prayer for her, and that the rest of them will be okay...she thinks they are all fine and it was just a fluke thing, but I don't want her having to deal with that again by herself She said their eyes are all opened now,and they are moving around a little more and are eating and sleeping well, so I'm sure it'll be okay.

((((((((( Karlie )))))))))) Praying for you and for Britt. I know it's extremely difficult to not be able to be there for those you love when they are hurting. I'm sure it's a hundred times worse when it's your child, too.

I'm sitting at the laundrymat. My clothes better hurry and dry cuz I have to be at work in about 40 minutes. (Never mind that I should have gotten up earlier... lol).

Thanks for the prayers, Boots She's taking them all to the vet today to have them checked out. I'm sure they are fine, but it'll make her feel better.

Hope your clothes dry soon!

I'm doing okay. It's been one of those mornings. Wanting to be with Britt, still getting Kristen ready to move Wednesday and a little sad about that new change. I thought having adult kids was supposed to be easier than when they were little. Not so!

But, I'm good. Getting ready to get back to school next week and I'm really ready for that.

How have you been?

Aren't the two mutually exclusive? I never have any fun while I'm here, and the book store doesn't really count as work since I mainly sit there and read.

I know. I felt soooo sad for her. I haven't heard from her this afternoon, so I'm assuming all is well.

As if today didn't hoover enough, I got a letter that the rental car company is filing a claim against me for the damage to the fuel system. Just what I needed I have to make some calls tomorrow and see what I am covered for and if there is a way to dispute it. I am half afraid my insurance won't cover it since it's not considered an accident, but misuse. I can't believe they can hold me responsible for that, but apparently any and all damage incurred while I have usage of the car is my responsibility. Oy.

Prayers for a quick and not too expensive resolution would be appreciated.

Oh no. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope it's resolved quickly. I wonder if there is a way to find out if anyone else there got bad gas.

Praying for this situation too Karlie! That really stinks, especially since the source (the gas station) of the damage is so evident. Also, the rental company has much more clout to go after the gas station and get results. I don't understand why they are going to "bully" you.
