I have to admit to having issues voting for McCain. If I could vote for Sarah Palin alone, I'd be happy

I don't think there is a prayer that will absolve you of your pagancy (is that even a word?) for missing church! We were supposed to have a picnic for the church's second birthday today, but it got rained out. So we had a little thing in the basement. They still ran down to the lake to baptize five people. I bet they were awfully cold afterwards. I think it's only in the 50s right now. I have some homework to finish up today. Not a whole lot, maybe three hours or so.

so it's fun in a twisted sort of way. Well, "twisted" is high among your many middle names. I can't really work on stuff for more than a half hour or so at a time before I get distracted with something else. I'm really thinking I have some kind of ADD. I bet if I could really focus on my homework I could finish it every week in about three hours, but as such it takes me days.

lol! You could have adult ADD...lots of people do. I do okay once I find a rhythm and get going. But once I take a break, it's hard for me to get going again. I have to be much better to stay on a schedule this semester. I've added up my time in class, and my homework hours, and I've figured out I have the equivalent of a full time job(and then some), so I'm trying to look at it that way and keep to a very strict homework schedule on my days home, just as if I was going into a job. It's still hit and miss with that though.

Well, right now I'm just working on a 2 year AA in business administration, which will more than likely take 2 and a half to 3 years. But I am enjoying the accounting classes so far, so I may go on further in that field...who knows. I may change my mind again next semester...........LOL

My AA took awhile too, mainly because I still had my youngest daughter at home and didn't want to be completely immersed in school. My BS has gone much faster, though I'll be done with that in May. Well, not done, done. I start grad school in the fall if I get accepted into the program. That's the plan anyway!

Paganic, which IS a word according to dictionary.com but shows as a misspelled word with spell check here , may have fit though. I hear you on the studying, but it's sorta like a part time job (time wise) right? And you get to do it at home and have your own potty, own kitchen, can study in jammies if so choose... Steve, it threatened rain here but we didn't get any today. It has been absolutely beautiful! Sunny, breezy and 66º. Awwww, don't get better than that for a Sunday afternoon in September.

Word is giving me fits again. I hate when you write a paragraph and then try to adjust lines under the first one with the spacebar and it doesn't move...grrr. I end up cutting and using Paste Special to get it into the right place. There must be an easier way, if I dig a little further I could probably find the answer.

Grrrrr about Word. I hate it when program isn't working like it should. I'm having the computer dilemma right now. I really need to upgrade mine soon and can't decide if I want another desktop or go with a laptop. I really hate using laptops, but I have no idea if I may need one in my masters program. Decisions, decisions! Interesting Beatles cover band on PBS. Some songs don't sound that much like them, and others are dead on. The guy doing Paul is amazingly authentic!

Is it Beatlemania? I really want a laptop because I hate being stuck in one place working. It would be cool to hang out somewhere else and work on my stuff; just for a change of pace. I've been looking a little bit at reconditioned laptops and can get a decent one for around $400

Is it Beatlemania? Yep...the group is called Rain. Pretty interesting. quote:

I need quiet and solitude and no other people around to do really well with homework. I have a hard time even studying for exams in the study areas at school because people are in and out and talking and moving around. It frustrates me.

Well, I did hear that a laptop uses like a third of the power that a desktop does.

That's interesting, Kath. I hadn't heard that. But, I guess it makes sense considering the monitors for a desktop.

Here is one article I found. I'd read something about it in the paper a while back. quote:
Comparing the 30W for a powerful notebook (including LCD screen, see example) with the 120W desktop PC plus the 80 W CRT screen, savings could really be up to 80%. And even in the notebooks intended as 'desktop replacement', with a larger screen (up to 16-17") and less aggressive power management settings, the savings are still well over 50%. People probably don't use CRT screens that much any more but even so, the power usage is significant between the two.
