My school is actually becoming a "state college", so most all of our faculty will eventually need a PhD to teach upper level courses. I really do want to get that too - but right now, I just want to be able to teach........I'll be like Darcy - have my PhD and social security at the same time. LOL

I have absolutely no intention of getting my PhD. I don't need it for what I want to do and don't need the prestige, so I'm stopping after my masters unless something drastically changes.

My microwave bit the dust this morning We knew it was coming for awhile. It gave a valiant fight, but in the end, the 15 years of service was all it could handle. So, we're going microwave shopping tonight. It's amazing how much cheaper they are now than when I bought that one!

The oven part works fine still...it heats fine. But all the touch buttons are out now. Not a single one works now. But, it definitely lasted a long time, so I can't complain.

It's not the first time I've heard things like that and I don't understand that mentality. Do they even consider the impact that has on a child?? To make yet another placement then get returned because they just aren't what a family is looking for. Do they have any idea the way that affects their self worth and value? It infuriates me that foster kids are looked at as less worthy of proper treatment than "real" kids are. And people wonder why the system is screwed up. Gee, can't imagine how that happened.
