Yeah. I was really impressed with this minimalist thing until I found out how many boxes you moved to PF.

I used to keep a lot of books, but Mrs. Kerrlaw claimed the built in bookshelves for her Dept. 56 New England village...

...then Sharon-Marie convinced me to become a minimalist.

Ooooh, Dept. 56. I bet it's really neat. We have a Kris Kringle year round Christmas Store that carries Dept. 56. It's neat just to look around.

On the minimalist...I confess I want to lean more that way than the way I have leaned in the past.

~~~~
Steve I'm glad you got the calculator back!!
Hope you get some good rest tonight.
Karlie, is it tomorrow that Britt's hubby goes? I was thinking about her tonight.
That's because, dear Counsellor, my husband was most definitely NOT a minimalist. Me? If it was just all my stuff, I could be fully contained in an RV bus.
You should see what all I didn't keep!
Hey Guys!
Steve, glad you got your calculator back! Get some rest. I still haven't caught up
That was the original plan, but they have him on standby at the moment, which is worse for them. It could basically be anytime in the next 2 weeks and he could gets little as a few hours notice. She said if he has to go, she just wanted the goodbye over with and start dealing with it. I can't blame her. As of now, I don't know if he's leaving tomorrow or not. She said she'd let us know.
I can see another sleepless night in my future. But they are having the best time. Everyone finished finals yesterday or today, so they are silly and boisterous with the relief. It's fun having them here, but they show no signs of exhaustion setting in yet!
Here is a coffee drink I think you all should try:
Iced Cafe Mocha
Combine 1/2 cup ground coffee with
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder.
Using a coffee maker brew with 4.5 cups of water.
Stir in 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, then refrigerate.
Serve over ice, or if you don't like ice just wait until it gets cold enough to drink without it.
Yum! This tastes kind of like the glass bottled Starbucks mocha frappachino drinks, except better.
When I was their age I loved watching the sun rise. Then there was sleep enough to get up and do it all again. Ahhhh, to be young again.
Praying for Britt and her hubby. I would think it harder too to be "up in the air" over two weeks time not knowing when the actuality will happen.
Well, talk about a sow learner. I'd sure hate you to have to start over with a new one. Who knows if you'd have it mastered by the time you met your maker
(Thanks Bill...I owe you one!)
Toward the end, she explains how she discovered all of this when she went back to school to get her meteorologist degree and her classmates couldn't get through simple math. She also showed where in both of the textbooks there is a complete (almost identical) chapter on proper use of a calculator. She also shows where the publishers (I think) of the textbooks say that it is too cumbersome to teach the normal math when kids can use calculators for simple problems. Yikes!!!
I got through even less. My eyes started to glaze over!
That is scary! I didn't let my kids use calculators until I knew they had how to do the problem by hand down pat! Those kids will be in big time trouble when it comes to learning formulas in higher math in college. You can't just randomly punch in the numbers
The gang is all still here. They finally got up at noon and I made them pancakes and sausage. Man, can those kids scarf the food! They said they've been living on dining hall food too long and home-cooked food was too good to resist. They ate like our camp kids do...lol.
So what exactly is a sow learner?
It must be pick on Steve day today. Thanks, Bill for starting the abuse off.
I just got home from work. Traffic was so bad it took almost an hour to get home, and it is normally a 20 minute trip. I'm going to take a nap now.
Hi James
I have the yummiest lemon ice cream ever. It's from the ice cram shop I've told you guys about before. My granddad bought me lemon ice cream there for the first when I was about 6 or 7 and I alway think of him when I have it.
I think I'll pass on that. I don't want to know where they're cramming that ice.
