One of the nice things about working toward eating healthier and getting more exercise is that every DAY is a chance again to succeed ... and every meal is a chance again to succeed. I've found that setting a weekly goal for myself with exercise can be helpful. Some weeks I try to get it done in the first half of the week so I can mark it off my "to do" list ... other weeks I put it off toward the very end .... but regardless of the ultimate outcome, I end up doing SOME exercise (sometimes ALL of it) ... which I may not have done if I hadn't set the goal. Now I try to make little deals with myself .... if I walk 15 minutes on the treadmill, I get to watch my favorite TV show .... or read .... or something along those lines. Maybe 15 minute spurts would be a good starting goal? When it comes to healthy eating, I try to win the battle at the grocery store by making the best choices I can. Sure, there will always be things at home or out to tempt me, but at least I'm not personally strewing my path with temptations! I did grocery shopping today and tried to, as always, stock up on a fridge-full of fresh veggies and produce! Red peppers, radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, squash, spinach, lettuce, corn, brussels sprouts, artichoke, onions, snow peas, carrots, green beans ..... we are STOCKED! Now I just have to sit down and do some meal planning for the next week! Oh, and I bought tofu (first time ever) ... I decided to be adventurous!!!! The scale hasn't budged in 4 days ... but it's still my TOM, too. I get one last weigh-in tomorrow (March 1) to see if I managed to lose any more for February, otherwise I will just have to accept those 6.2 pounds and call it good. (That's a 1.5 pound per week average.) Keep at it, everyone!
