Szaftoo -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (3/2/2008 3:07:02 PM)

I am thankful for many things but one of them is how our moderators keep the boards upright. They are quick to address subjects and posts that are inappropriate and language that crosses the line.

Tough job and I am thankful they do it.

.Pammy -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (3/2/2008 3:32:49 PM)

I can't write poetry so I'll just say thank you! I love that this place is moderated and "safe". I don't have to be afraid of what I'll run into. It's wonderful to have a refuge like this in this world.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (3/29/2008 7:52:58 PM)

Kudos to PrincessDonna!!! [sm=thumbsup.gif]

No sooner had I reported a TOS on a new poster for name-calling another poster, than I go back to the very same thread and that same poster was now using vulgarity to emphasis his point. [&:]

Donna was lightning fast on both of these TOS!

Thanks, Donna! [sm=dance.gif]

sosing2me -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (4/4/2008 1:08:30 PM)

Thanks Moderators for making this a decent place to visit each day. I had to cringe one morning as I was looking at overnight posting. If I hadn't been up so early I would never have seen the post because it was gone by early morning.

GREAT JOB![sm=dance.gif]

armydude -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (4/9/2008 3:39:09 PM)

THANK YOU MODS!!!
It's been a couple of days since a VERY repulsive post was put up, and the mods took care of it. Y'all are awesome!

Anyways... [:D]

I think the mods do a very nice job on these forums.... I love how they make the forums feel safe... I love how they participate without abusing their powers.

I'm so thankful! [;)]

Kath -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (4/11/2008 6:28:46 PM)

You all are just so sweet. Thank you!

1love1God1way -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (4/14/2008 3:52:43 AM)

Thanks for putting up with people like me.

sosing2me -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (4/18/2008 8:35:19 PM)

I actually saw the moderators in action tonight. WOW! What a great job keeping garbage out of the forums. THANK YOU for the marvelous job you do. Now I know just what an important job you have.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (4/18/2008 8:48:30 PM)

Judy, you beat me to it. [:D]

It's Friday and a full moon. The mods are going to have their hands full tonight.

Y'all, please remember to keep the mods in your prayers. Some of the junk that they have to see so that we don't is truly atrocious. Please pray Our Lord's Covering over all of them.

BTW . . . did y'all know that if you click on "Member List" in the tool bar at the top of any page, it will take you another page; and from there, you'll see in the upper right corner of the top of the Member List a pull-down bar that says "No Group Filter". If you click on that pull-down list, you can choose "Forum Moderators" and then you'll be able to see exactly who all our wonderful mods are.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/12/2008 10:11:37 AM)

You know what I like about all the Mods? [:D]

They say, "thank you' when responding to TOS reports.

They take the time to let me know their appreciation.

THAT is so incredibly classy

. . . AND very much appreciated!

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/12/2008 10:16:18 AM)

This post is specifically for KATH

Last week there was a, uhm, situation involving a poster.

Come to find out, it wasn't an isolated incident with this person.

Kath took A LOT of time with everyone involved in this to make sure she had all the information.

It was a lot of time y'all; not just a few minutes and then it was done.

{{{Kath}}} - Thank you . . . You are awesome! [sm=thumbsup.gif]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/15/2008 12:57:19 PM)

This isn't exactly a thank you to someone who performed a moderator task . . . however it is a thank you to someone who just happens to be a moderator . . . and since this is my thread, I hope you'll allow me to bend the rules a bit. [sm=icon_smile_approve.gif][sm=icon_smile_tongue.gif]

PrincessDonna . . . I think of you every time I do a relative link . . . and since someone referred to me the other day as the Queen of links, that means I think of you a lot! LOL

I will be forever grateful for your teaching me how to do relative links.
[sm=thumbsup.gif]

For those of y'all who don't know what relative links are, they are links that will take anyone logged in from any portal to the linked post and still keep them logged into to their portal of choice - regardless of which portal the link was created in.

It's Wonderful! [sm=dance.gif]

And may I take this moment to ask y'all to please consider making relative links when creating a link to somewhere here in the forums. It takes probably only 2-3 seconds longer to create than a regular link. And it really is wonderful to be directed somewhere via a link and still be logged.

And for those who don't know how to create relative links but are interested, here are the instructions:

You know how you normally would copy the entire address from the address bar for a regular link?

For a relative link . . . you only have to copy everything to the right of .com
Your relative links will actually begin with /fb

For example, let's take the following link (I've added spaces in to allow for the lesson):

http: //www .faithcommunitynetwork .com/fb. aspx?m=2979057

Highlight and delete http:// www. faithcommunity network . com

What you have remaining . . . /fb. aspx?m=2979057 . . . will be your link (except without the space added in there).

In the link window, this will be inserted on the middle row (with, of course, the bottom row being whatever you want to name the link). The middle row says URL * next to the typing window.

The top row (Type) has a pull-down window. Click on the arrows and then choose relative . . and then finish that window by clicking on ok.

Then, what you'll end up with is a relative link.

Example of relative link

BTW . . . relative links are only for internal links . . . they won't work on external links (i.e., other websites, etc.)

Aww, go on . . . bask in it! [:D]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/17/2008 10:43:33 PM)

Under an hour!!! [sm=icon_smile_super.gif]

From the time I reported it till the very last tater tot was cleaned up . . . that's how long it took Kate to clean up a very big mess left by a troll who was obviously suffering from a severe case of boredom and who made the very poor decision to come here and disrespect these forums and also Christianity as a whole.

Over 22 posts spanning several threads.

* * * P O O F * * *

Gone. Kaput. Nada. Finis. Bye-Bye.

Every single one of those posts now just digital dust.

Kate rocks!!! [sm=thumbsup.gif][sm=thumbsup.gif][sm=thumbsup.gif]

Ooops . . . I forgot to mention . . . Kate's handle, btw, is Ps103.

zmanfan38 -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/18/2008 5:18:12 PM)

Wow, thank you, Kate!!! I never saw any of them and very glad of that.

karlie -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/21/2008 6:43:06 PM)

Is it okay for a mod to appreciate other mods??

I love, love, love Kath and Kate! Kath looks out for me and is so patient when I need to ask a question or I forget to do something. She is a sweetheart and never minds explaining things or taking a look at something for me.

And Kate (along with Kath) covers a lot of stuff assigned to me before I even get online. They are on the ball and both do a lot for us other mods.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Moderator Appreciation Thread (5/21/2008 6:53:57 PM)

It is very definitely OK for a mod to appreciate other mods!

Karlie, what a wonderful, post.
Thank you so much; it was such a blessing to read.

I'd be adrift without Karlie and Kate.

I appreciate you because you are so sweet and you can put up with me when I am a snarky crank[:)]

Happy to be of service!

(Kath just pointed me to this thread a while ago--although I think I saw it when it first started. Thanks to all of you who understand why we do what we do--try to make this board a safe place for all[:)])
