Manda - just flat ungrateful and like she was put out to even open/receive the gifts. She was the same way at her wedding too.

I would say that she is a person who does not like to be put on the spot. I am the same way, and I know it has been perceived as ungratefulness when really I am just super uncomfortable

I was frequently told off as a child for not appearing grateful enough for receiving gifts, and though I am an adult now  , the whole thing still does my head in and makes me feel rather nervous. I feel self-conscious with that feeling of the person watching me while I unwrap the gift - and still get anxious about how my reaction will be perceived, whether it will show on my face if I don't like it, or even if my face doesn't show what the person wanted to see even if I do like the gift (I am just not a wildly reacting person, even when I am over the moon). Even just thinking about this now, my stomach is going into a few knots.

Sarah, one of the top drawers is for Brian's denture stuff and diaper stuff I don't need all the time. The rest of the drawers are for baby clothes, and are currently empty since I just moved Hannah's stuff upstairs and will use the drawers for the new baby. Levi has one of those three drawer plastic things as a dresser for now.

I feel like I just keep complaining, but that's not my intention here. We had another terrible night  I don't even know if I'm looking for advice, but I really need some encouragement, because I'm feeling pretty close to having a meltdown!!
This is what our night was like:
9:00pm goes to bed
11:00pm wakes up crying, gave him soother, goes back to sleep
11:30pm wakes up screaming, give bottle, rock back to sleep
3:20am wakes up screaming, give soother rock him back to sleep
4:30am wakes up screaming, give bottle, rock back to sleep, but he wakes up when I put him in the crib, so had to calm him down, and leave him awake in his crib
6:00am wakes up crying, daddy brings him in bed with us and he goes right back to sleep.
7:00am wakes up, goes back to sleep, sleeps until 8:00
This actually was a better night than the two before... it seems like we have tried everything...earlier bedtime, later bedtime, bath, no bath, eating closer to bedtime, or not eating before bedtime, cutting out some of his new foods, soothers, rocking, bottle, night lights, swaddling. I just don't know what to do next.
A few times when I was rocking him, he seemed like he was asleep, but he was so restless. He would be laying there, and then his feet would start walking up my leg until he was almost on his head. Then he'd turn over and flop his arms all around and lift his head and flop it back down.
I don't know if he's afraid of the dark, or afraid of being in his own room alone. It's driving me crazy that I can't figure it out!
If there are any other suggestions, I'm willing to try anything at this point!

You're doing all you can. It's likely that it's teeth, and you will just have to weather this till they come through.
How do you feel about trying something homeopathic?

Sure, I would probably try that. I looked for the teething tablets people were talking about, but I can't find them. I don't know where to buy them here in Canada.

We don't usually have thunder storms unless there is heat and humidity. You'll see plenty of those this summer! How do your little ones do with them?

Yup, we tried Ibuprofen lots... we've decided it doesn't work.
It could be teeth, I don't see any signs of them in his mouth though, gums aren't white, there's no bump or anything. He is drooling some, not a lot though. And he always has his tongue stuck out, I wonder what that means.
Oh, I wish for the days when he can just tell me what's wrong!
I doubt drugstore.com ships to Canada, and I know for sure that Amazon doesn't. I know Chelsea used them, I will have to ask her where she got them.

Yolanda, I hope you find something that works for you. Ugh...that's frustrating.
LOL, Sandy! We don't tell the kids the bowling thing, but they have come up with "it's God making noise" all on their own. I actually like T-storms in this house. In the tiny trailer we lived in before this...they were terrifying and it was hard to keep the kids from getting scared when *we* were scared!

When I lived in the prairies, the thunderstorms were unlike anything I have ever seen. I was terrified. I've always been afraid of thunderstorms.
The only thing that makes me think it might not be teeth is that he is completely fine in the daytime. When he wakes up after 7 or 8 in the morning, he's talking and smiling and playing with his feet...then he's great all day, he goes to bed good at night.
He's napping, so that's where I'm heading....

That's actually very common and has happened with all my kids. Teething can be a long process. Two of my kids have had teething symptoms for months before the teeth finally came through.

In my experience it's night-time when the teeth "grumble".

yup...my kids too....night time is the worst. I know I remember when my wisdom teeth were coming in (when I was engaged!!!) and the night time was the worst for them too....don't know why, but it always is.

I *think* it may have something to do with the fact that it's at night-time that our bodies do most of the growing/cell-repairing/healing etc. During the day, the focus is on keeping us going, at night is when it's "quiet" enough for the body to do the rest of what it needs to do.

that could very well be it Manda....I wonder often if there is a connection with that, but have never looked into researching it...I am not that bored....lol
