Aww...I don't get BBC Canada! There was no point in ordering it since about 3/4 of the British programming on it is shown on other Canadian channels. I read somewhere that it might be on A&E so I'll check that out.

I'm not sure if we get A&E or not. I never thought about tuning to it for British shows. DD and I are still trying to work on our British accents for the play.

That's hilarious Manda!

I had a roommate who spent a lot of summers in England and was able to pick up on the British accent rather well. We would go out and she would always put on a British accent and everyone fell for it. They would look at me and ask if I was British as well.....I just said "nope I'm Canadian"....there was no way I could pull it off!

And didn't they do a good job of replacing Tom!

I was amazed at just how emotionally involved I'd become with Tom's character - really quite unnerving, but also a testament to the writer and actors. I was so disappointed when he went, we'd been through so much with him! I instantly took a dislike to Adam, missed Tom (oh the drama! lol), kept being irritated by Adam ...................... but then he started to grow on me. And how!!

Spooks really does keep you on your toes though - you have this feeling that no character is totally "safe" (except maybe Harry, but perhaps not even him!), because so many relatively major characters have gone beforehand (I so wanted Zaf to have been found alive and am not sure I'm over him yet! - and as for Jo ..... we still don't know what happened to her ......)

Can't wait for it to start! I just hope that this new guy doesn't eventually replace Adam
I confess that I liked Adam from the start. I was pretty upset about Zaf too. Nobody could replace Adam!

Am I right in remembering that you like Little Britain?

Have you (entirely different genre) ever watched Doc Martin?

Manda, have you seen the Paddington Bear/Marmite commercials? I've just seen 2 that I haven't seen before ~ they're hysterical!

You are very right. I have all of Little Britain on dvd. (Vicky Pollard has given me one of my favourite lines in the world.) (Actually so has Daffyd.)

I tuned into Doc Martin the other night after someone mentioned it. But I tuned in halfway through. I'm going to try and see when it's on and give it a good look.

Oh, LOL, I didn't know Little Britain was a whole show. I just saw that little clip of the grown man nursing, and GF was freaked out. LOL! Haha, I just watched it again....cracks me up whenever I watch it.

There's a whole bunch of other characters too! The "Bitty" character is just one of them!

Try looking up "Lou and Andy" on You Tube! They're my favourites!

LOL, I watched of a few of Lou and Andy. So, Andy is not aware that Lou can actually walk?

LOL, that's great. It was hard to find many in English, but it's still funny watching it dubbed over in German. LOL! I liked the one where they were checking into the hotel, and Lou had to pee and ended up peeing on the lady in the pool behind Andy's back. LOL!

LOL, those were great! I have never seen any of those. So, the show, is it like different short stories with the same actors? I don't think we have anything like that here in the states. We only have live skits like on Mad TV or In Living Color. Lou and Andy sort of remind me of Stewart on Mad TV.

Yes, different short sketches with the same characters every time. So basically once you've watched a few you know exactly what is likely to happen (except one time with Carol, when, very unexpectedly for her, the Computer said "Yes"!) which is all part of the fun, as you anticipate it all. Little Britain has spawned quite a lot of catchphrases, as I am sure you can imagine!

Yeah, Robert says he heard the "computer says no" catchphrase before. What a great show. I think I saw that they show it Comedy Central over here, but we don't get cable unfortunately. I'll have to see if they have it on Hulu.

I Paddington Bear

Me too. These commercials are so funny because of him switching from marmalade to marmite.

I never got into Little Britain.

Yeah, and you have to watch where you are when you say them, because if people haven't seen the show, they will think you're crazy!

There are a number of the characters I don't like, for a variety of reasons.

But there are a few that I do, very much!

I think that's why I don't like it. There were characters that I didn't like and it would spoil my enjoyment of the characters I did like.
