ORIGINAL: paulsbride I have to do them every two weeks, and I *hate* it. If Judah is with me (which usually he's with friends) I just tell them I just emptied my bladder and there's just no pee in there... they tell me that's fine, to just be sure to pee before I leave. Then I either sneak out, or tell them I hadn't had anything to drink and still didn't have any pee in me I have appointments every two weeks, so it's not like they don't have a nice collection of my urine already When I have DD with me who is 17 months old I make sure I have our umbrella stroller and I keep her strapped in during my potty fun and appointment. I bring her cup and some crackers and she's usually pretty good that way unless they are running behind. Now that I'm having internals though my DH meets me at the office and hangs out with the kids in the waiting room. Much nicer.

I don't have to give a "sample" per se - I pee in a little dixie cup and dipstick my own urine, so it's not too bad ... I don't have a little one to contend with, though! I don't mind dipping my urine - I think it's a good thing to check for protein and sugar at every appointment! Brandy - I asked my m/w about BH. She said as long as they go away when you do the opposite activity, then it's fine. If they continue, or if they settle into a "regular pattern" ie. every 10 minutes or something, then you should probably call your provider (or in our case, page them!) and let them know. So if they're frequent but irregular and they go away when you drink water or change position, I wouldn't be too concerned. Some days I get them ALL THE TIME, other days I don't get them at all. Hope that helps! I don't know the answer about the stretchmarks, sorry! And June Bug's started to get hiccups now too - it's quite cute, but I feel sorry for the little thing!

Today is my baby shower with my family!! I am very excited but will probably be exhausted by the time everyone gets here. My mom and sister are hosting, but asked if we could have it at my house because we have more room and we won't have to take the gifts anywhere. I didn't really want to because I didn't want to hae to stress over having to have my house clean, but Chris said he would do all of the cleaning. Well, instead of cleaning last night he installed a new ceiling fan (which really didn't need to be done right away.) Today he installed a new light fixture and now he is doing something at church. There is only 1 other person helping him there and he could have gone at any time, but he told her 11:00. As he was leaving, he told me to clean off the kitchen table, vacuum the living room, and windex the storm door. I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and I really wanted to relax and be ready for everyone. I love my family and friends, but I don't like being in large groups of people, especially when I am the center of attention. Now I don't even have time to take a walk around the neighborhood with my dog, take a shower, and get ready, because I have to clean the house. I am really frustrated, tired, and stressed. I was really looking forward to this shower, but now I am going to be too tired to enjoy it.

Phone your mum and sister, ask them to come early and vacuum etc, and get yourself off out with your woofer, have a shower and get ready. I doubt if anyone would notice if it wasn't done anyway. Main thing is for you to feel relaxed and ready - so stand up for yourself and do what YOU need to do for yourself.

Well, I'm off to... ...the wildlife park with the family. :) Sorry, that was a bit of a tease. No signs of baby still but I'm hoping that coming face to face with wolves and cougars and bears will give a little encouragement. See, Little One, how exciting life is OUTSIDE of the womb! I did warn my 4-year old though that if the baby decides to come out we'll have to leave early. Boy I hope my water doesn't break there though! See you guys later!

I have to say, that if that was me, I'd just have said "sorry, I won't have time" and left it at that, rather than break my back trying to get it all done. You can really only be as much of a doormat as you allow yourself to be. I am not saying that to be unkind, but to make the point that it is better (and healthier) to stand up for yourself at the time rather than accept it passively and then get upset about it afterwards.

I have a 40DD nursing bra that was lightly used at the end of my nursing stint with Nadia. I just grew into a 36DD, so I know that I won't be able to use this one. It's a soft cup, Leading lady, white. Really nice. Anyone need it? Just let me know and I'll send it out, maybe someone else can get a better use out of it, than I. Rather than it sitting in storage, taking up precious space. Just PM me.

Really sorry I haven't been able to do more than skim the latest posts in this thread. It feels a bit like I'm running just to stand still! I have finally managed to make pictures of Hjalmar available, though, and have posted a link on my thread. Praying for you all.

Hopefully baby can keep a secret, because that would be the best. If not, hopefully the US tech doesn't slip. Emily, I hope you have a good time with your shower. I agree with what Manda said...if it's not too late, have your mom and sister come early. Otherwise don't stress about it. We're having people over for a church dessert group we do. I've been gone all day, with some of the ladies that are coming over. I already told them they're going to have to see my dust! Because now that I'm home, I NEED to take a nap. I will be no fun and feeling sick if I don't give myself a nap right now. They'll still love me if my house isn't spotless. Anyway, I hope you are able to relax and get lots of good stuff for David! Oh, we had the village rummage sale today. Didn't find a tun, but I did get a nearly brand-new pack & play with changing station for $10. And a bouncy seat/rocker for $1 that I'm going to give to our church daycare. It was fun to look at stuff, but sometimes I'm too cheap. I won't pay $2 for onesie sleepers. They were almost brand new and very cute, but I'm more of a 25 cent girl for that kind of stuff. Next weekend the town next to us is having their rummage sales, so I'll have to check those out too.

nope....even with my history of pre-e and the fact that my bp is more then double normal and stays on the verge of their "too high" mark...and I have even asked to have it done...to which they said it wasn't "routine" unless my bp goes over 140/90 That really makes me... (((((((((Emily))))))))) Sounds similar to the stuff Brian does when we need to clean the house together. He always seems to find a project that didn't really need doing. I have found he doesn't know how to prioritize and I have to say flat out that xyz HAVE to be done today and I NEED your help. It is tough sometimes, and a definite source of conflict in our home, so I understand your frustration. I hope you were able to enjoy your shower in the end though! Julie, you tease! Hope all that walking works little one on out, but I also hope he or she waits until you leave the wildlife park. Brandy, if you can get them cheap, they can work for lots of things. For wherever you sit to nurse in the first week or so, for changing baby at home and/or out and about. Probably worth buying. If you don't use them with the little baby, you can use them in the carseat when you are potty training. Had a nice day with my Momma today. Just sitting around relaxing and watching the munchkins play outside.

Well, we're back from the wildlife park. We walked until I couldn't walk anymore and then we went out and got dinner and I stuffed myself. Been having contractions all day, even before we left, but none that have turned into anything. We'll see. It's gotta come sometime, right. Sarah, have you heard about prepping your new tank with ammonia? Fishforums has great information about it. If you prep it right the tank will cycle before you ever add fish and (probably) won't have fish deaths when you first stock it.

Not that y'all want to go back to the peeing in a cup discussion....but my OBGYN when I was expecting DS let me bring in a sample--he wanted 1st morning urine. What I usually did was used a small lunch box/bag to tote the cup of urine (the box is fairly inoculous in appearance & one doesn't run the risk of getting urine in the purse...even though urine is sanitary as long as no bacteria is present).
