I did put a disposable Chux in my bed and on the couch where I usually sit. I tended to bleed pretty heavily so I found it reassuring to have them there. I also used them to put under a blanky or sheet when I was taking naked pics of the babies. I usually did that on my bed and I didn't want that getting peed on. I haven't used a ton but I've found uses for them.

Well, I guess you don't need to think about it now if you don't want to , but yes, they will sometimes pee (or worse!) in their seats. Even when you think they are mostly day time trained, the car is a likely place to fall asleep, so it's a common place for accidents.

If pee is the worse they do, you should count your blessings. Children just ooze.

Well, neither of mine ever did anything like that in their car seat, so it's not a given!!

After they were potty trained, I used to put a terry towelling nappy (diaper) underneath their bottoms in their car seats, "just in case", and that caught any No. 1s (happened maybe just once or twice). No stray No. 2s ever strayed anywhere they shouldn't.

Great pictures, Kim and Megan!

I'm in the eat everything mode too. I'm a bit scared to step on the scale Tuesday. Repeating after myself...it's okay, part of growing a baby, and I know I've not been eating much junk. So...what is, is.

my goal for Wednesday is to not have gained anything or maybe just a pound.

I really don't want to have gained a bunch in two weeks and don't feel like I have, but belly is definitely bigger. and bladder is smaller. go figure.

A woman's weight can fluctuate by up to five pounds in a day. Wishing that you don't gain more than a pound is unrealistic since you are not in control of many of the factors involved. Unless you want to starve yourself or your baby, or be dehydrated, simply eat when you are hungry and eat mostly good foods. It really isn't something to stress over.

Thanks, ladies!

Good reminder, Jenny. I tend to fixate too much on hitting the "one pound a week" mark at my appointments.

Yeah, that really doesn't even make sense, lol. It's just an average on some chart and has nothing to do with you and your baby.

It all evens out in the end anyway. I've barely gained anything up until 18 weeks (more proof of a girl ), and I know that between 19 and 25 weeks are my biggest weight gain times for my previous pregnancies, so I just need to mentally prepare for 6-10 pounds in this 3.5 week gap between appointments.

Most of what I have craved has been super nutritious too! Last week, I went through 3 large tomatoes, 2 large cucumbers, 2 heads of broccoli, 8 oz of cheese, 3 lbs of apples, and a big bunch of bananas. That was JUST me. I've had a bit of chocolate and some Pepsi too, but by and large, it's been fruits and veggies I was craving.

I had to do a double-take there!

I read it too quickly and thought you were saying what you'd eaten today!

No, but it was actually more like 4-5 days rather than a week.

You are so pretty Megan Cute belly!!

I have gained almost as much now as I gained the entire pregnancy with Judah. My body cannot take this extra weight! Up until the surgery (cerclage placement) I was eating well, then I kind of gave up and indulged in whatever. I am totally paying for it now since I can't exercise at all, I feel like I'm going to die from this extra weight on my body.
So I am now trying to eat completely healthy with no junk food, other than a once a week treat. My goal is to not gain any more weight for the next ten weeks Or at least not much more weight.

HERE is my most recent belly shot, taken this week in Charleston - I'm 30 weeks tomorrow. Five weeks out from when Judah was born! And ten weeks from this ones due date - crazy!

Jess, Megan and Kim - beautiful pictures!

Emily, how was the shower? Did you get some help with the cleaning?

As far as the messes kids make... even though I'm a first time mom I have 3 siblings between 10 and 15 years younger than I. I remember the messes - in particular when they manage to get off a poopie diaper and have a creative painting session while supposedly napping.

Well, 37 week appt tomorrow morning, and our doula is coming over to go over everything tomorrow night. Today it felt like our little boy had a fist or elbow wedged in my cervix - it was awfully hard to sit. LOL

I've been off for a while, trying to get my strep throat dealt with as best as I can...rest, antibiotics and more rest. Aside from the lingering sore throat (no where near as bad as strep now though, thank goodness!) I seem to be back to normal...well...normal for a woman who is 30+ weeks pregnant I suppose. I am finally beginning to eat more than three fruit smoothies a day, so I am sure that weight gain is bound to happen before my next doctor's appointment.

I had my first OB Gyn appt on Friday morning. I felt really comfortable with the doctor. I have gained one pound in the last three weeks. Baby is still breech and the doctor leaned down to my belly to tell Baby that it has only 6.5 weeks to turn or it'll be coming out early. The doctor explained that there is no concern at the moment about the baby's position and he showed me how/where to feel for the feet and head so I could be absolutely sure if I thought I had felt it move (and to call if I felt that it had). I feel far more calm about it now.
Sarah, thanks for answering my questions regarding expectations for the appointment.

The baby doesn't like it when I sit now. This has just been over the past few days but every time I sit down the baby kicks me right in the crease of my underbelly. It's kind of cute, but kind of annoying...the persistant little one doesn't stop kicking until I switch positions.

My uncle dropped in the other day with a gift- he made a beautiful pine cradle for the baby. I need to go purchase foam and material to make a mattress for it, but otherwise it is all ready for our new arrival.

Kathryn, congratulations on your blue addition to the list. How exciting!

Stephanie check out this site.. GREAT tips on telling how the baby is lying and tips on how to get him/her to turn to a better position.

Breech babes can be turned at home.

I need to start doing a few things from that site just to get her to face backwards and get some relief for my back.

Your uncles gift sounds really neat and personal, like a family heirloom in the making.
