ORIGINAL: Consecrated2God I actually dislike the name Zippy. I can't think of Zipporah without thinking of her throwing a bloody foreskin around, and the name Zippy doesn't sound like a real name. I hope something else wins. and this is negative how? She was a woman with a 'Tude...and the guts to do what needed to be done.

OK, remember Zippy has one more vote than it says because I voted Cassandra right in the middle of when Sarah was changing the poll.

Not necessarily negative, just that I always think of that story when I think of Zipporah, and to always associate HisCovenant with circumcision just seems a little strange. It doesn't fit her.

circumcision is a part of the Abrahamic covenant (I think) so it would be kind of appropriate to associate that with some named HisCovenant.

I wasn't saying that you should vote for Zippy, I was just responding to this: quote:

Zippy sounds fun and playful. Zipporah sounds intelligent and insightful.

I voted Cordelia simply because I love the Anne of Green Gables series...all of the books! I love Zipporah (although I prefer the tradtinal spelling of tzipporah better...lol)....also...Cordelia was the best daughter of King Lear in Shakespeare's play as well....

I voted Zippy because I liked it. Going off topic for a second... Ellie-Mae, I just noticed that you're a moderator now. Congratulations! Now back on topic...

Cordelia was the best daughter of King Lear in Shakespeare's play as well.... The woman who refused to stoop to flattery. That would be a good name for the poster formerly known as HisCovenant. But, I don't like the way "Cordelia" sounds, so I went with "Zipporah." I like the "Tzipporah" spelling better, though.
