What she said! Hers was so pretty I didn't feel I could do justice, so I copied it.

No you don't.

The fighting commenced outside my bedroom door at 6:30am. I was then presented, by the ManCub, with 2 Eggos and a carton of orange juice on a PAPER TOWEL(!) on a tray.

Fortunately, he hadn't put syrup on them.

The GirlChild was completely incensed that he had done this because she had intended to make me REAL waffles. When I told her that she could go ahead and do that, that I could eat both breakfasts (I don't even eat one breakfast normally, food upon waking makes me sick), she had a total meltdown and they continued to fight until their dad picked them up at 8:45.

More of my Mother's Day to follow.....

I don't know whether to laugh or cry with you.

I'll be glad to do both.

I haven't had much of a MD yet. Linz is gone, Mike is napping and Larry is sleeping. I told him I'd like to go to outback tonight.

So I read my book, ate a bagel and some strawberries and here I am.

For those that don't know about my unique relationship with the x, I don't even know how to begin to describe it except to say that I have earnestly and deliberately tried to live out the love of Christ in respect to him...

Two facts:

1) My daughter is a nicer, kinder, more generous and more loving person than any of the adults around her.

2) The x has a live-in gf with whom my kids were forced into relationship with. She is a very nice person who is good to my kids but who, of course, has her own parenting philosophy and whose own children, I should mention, will have nothing to do with her. Therefore, my kids reap all of her parenting inclinations.

Sorry, 3 facts...
No matter how I sound on here when I'm venting, my children never hear me say a bad thing about their dad or his gf. I teach them to respect her and treat her kindly.

So, one day last week the GirlChild asks me if *we* should get something for gf. (Keep in mind that I do pay for the kids to get their dad and gf Christmas and birthday gifts, etc. On the other hand, the GirlChild pays for any gifts for me herself.) At her suggestion, I was silent for several moments because none of the responses that came to mind were ones I wanted to verbalize.

However, it means a whole lot to the GirlChild to be generous with people and gift them when the opportunity presents itself. She feels bad for gf because she'll have to spend Mother's Day without her own children and wanted to do something for her.

On Friday, the GirlChild was busy working so *I* purchased a card for my kids to give gf (and a very nice card it was, if I do say so myself), then I took the GirlChild to get a plant for her grandmother and for gf. In the meantime, the GirlChild expresses her frustration because when she asked her dad to take her shopping so that she could get something for me ~ with her own money! ~ gf pipes up and tells her that instead of wasting the gas to do that, the Girlchild should just make me something. MY POOR KID!

So, on top of having her breakfast for me "ruined" she also has nothing but a homemade gift certificate to give me. That, of course, is fine with me but she feels really bad about it.

Still more to come...

The Mother's Day saga continues....

An hour ago the neighbor behind me called to say that the high winds had ripped some of my shingles off, about a 9' x 6' area.

And now it's raining....

Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints, ya know?

Well, I would, but now I'm crying because of your post about GirlChild.

That really brought tears to my eyes that are now streaming down my face.

{{{GirlChild}}}

I know you probably won't show her that because of the nature of the reason, but it is nonetheless very heartfelt.

{{{Lioness}}}
I have a lot of respect for you; and it's grown even more in reading how you raise your children.

I also know that your mother's heart is probably a bit tender right now because of GirlChild.

I so truly wish I could come by and get y'all and go have a coffee date.

I stayed away til now because I really haven't been fit company. I'm probably still not, but I was hoping I could put a funny spin on things and make myself feel better.

Thanks. Yep, a great Mother's Day present for me would have been a day when my kids' feelings didn't get hurt by some adult.

As to the coffee date, that would sure be wonderful. On the other hand, do you have a really tall ladder 'cause my roof needs some attention.

Okay, I did make myself feel better with that one! Thanks for letting me blow off some steam and get myself back in balance.

What's this "back" in balance stuff?

Doesn't that imply that one had to have previously been in balance once before?

Aw, thanks Pam. No worries on my account though. It really is just another day on my calendar. Say a little prayer for my GirlChild though, will ya?

Well, you do have a very valid point there. Maybe I shoulda said 'back on the other side of off-kilter'.

What's her number? I'll be very glad to set her straight about being sensitive to someone else's children.

There's no doubt in my mind that you would very clearly and very eloquently do just exactly that.

Can we make it a three-way call because I have a few things I would like to add as well.

as stated by The White Rose

Yes I think it would be better for Shar-Mar to do this than me. If I were to do it it might involve stitches and a trip to the E.R.

*I wonder if'n she could hold some cereal boxes?*

I truly love you gals. Thanks!

Mac, thank you for the hug. ((((((Mac))))))

Pam, it's always the kids because grown-ups get mad when our feelings get hurt. So quickly that we hardly realize we are hurt, ya know? Kids still have tender hearts and spirits.

Then enough people are mean to them and they turn into grown-ups.
