I voted Methodist since that is what I attend now. I was raised in the Methodist church but have also attended Baptists churches. My denomination is really not listed since I consider myself a Methocostal.

I attend a non denominational church now. What denominations have I attended? Pick one. I've probably been there.

I voted Mennonite because that is my background but now we attend a Christian and Missionary Alliance church which is not on the list.

Interesting. How did that happen? Is it the same group of people, just not holding to the same doctrine? Or did they just not want to be affilliated with a denomination?

Really? I didn't realize you lived that close to me. I'm from Mansfield, 30-45 minutes down the road.

I've been attending there for over 20 years, and they broke off before I started attending. I think it was mostly because we had grown to be such a large church and we were "taxed" so much per member. We had building programs, and I imagine the pastor at that time wanted to direct the funds more locally. There may have been more to it than that, I don't know. As far as I know, no beliefs changed, except we don't practice foot-washing anymore. We did for many years until more recently, though.

The reason I mentioned what it had been is because there are lots of non-denominational churches, but I still think it is interesting to know what KIND of non-denominational church it is.

I'm very familiar with Grace Brethrens so that is interesting to me.

For my part, I claim non-denominational since I've attended a variety of denominations and I still read a variety of books and feel like I have gleaned from several. I can't even lump myself in strongly with one so it's extremely hard for others who want to put me in a box.

I was baptized in a Southern Baptist Church. But, when I moved back to KY after I retired from the Air Force I tried a couple of other denominations such as Methodist, Assembly of God, and a non-denominational church before I went back to the good ole Southern Baptists!

I attend The Church of God (Cleveland TN), which is definitely pentecostal

You wouldn't happen to attend the same church as Greg Casto, would you? I know he preaches in Cleveland, TN, (and used to sing in the group with which I currently sing).

No, I live inFlorida. The Cleveland Tn in parenthesis was to distinguish my denomination from another denomination with the same name that is based in Anderson Indiana. Ours is Pentrecostal and Anderson is not.
