[quoteMr. Men? Never heard of him/them.

I was babysitting one day and the 8 yr old told me about Mr men and it is soo cool. Its about these smily face characters like Mr Grumpy,Little Miss sunshine,Miss troublemaker, etc. I also remember the books when I was a kid and loved them too.Its on cartoon network.

Oh I know them! They were around when I was growing up. My mum bought me the "Miss Bossy" book. I have no idea why.

That would be why you have the Miss Sunshine avatar, Sunshine. *grin*

Like how I spun that around to fit the topic? LOL!

I LOVED the Mr. Men books as a kid. I had no idea they were still around! My favorites were Mr. Small, Mr. Nosey and Mr. Tickle.

Wow, I just realized I could totally replace my current avatar with a picture of Mr. Greedy and you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. LOL

Oh that's too cute! I got a giggle from that! *grin*

I need to look into getting those books just for fun. The Things would love to laugh at them. LOL!

A year or two ago someone used Captain Kangaroo as an avatar and some people felt it was creepy.

How could he be creepy? I mean, Capt. Kangaroo was the Mr. Rogers of my day.

People think Captain Kangaroo is creepy?

That's skeery....

It's cause of the bowl-cut and bushy 'burns!

Seriously, there have been so many negative things happen with people associated with teaching children the past several years that all seem suspect. Capt. Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers are a dying breed.

Just out of curiosity did y'all know that both of these gentlemen were highly decorated Soldiers in WWII?

Actually, I did know that about Mr. R., but not about the Captain. Interesting.

I knew Mr. Rogers was a Marine and had tats running up and down his arms, thus the long sleeves.

oddly enought, this avatar of my husband and I dancing might be more offensive to some on a certain thread, than my world of warcraft pics.

Ya can never tell what a person thinks is wrong when you think it is right... but when I think something is wrong it is wrong......(snicker)

If you find William Shatner enjoying a gigglefest offensive, you're unAmerican.

Good question. Some avatars are sexualised - some are comical - some are pretty - some display a beautiful photo (such as your own and many others onsite); some have a message to give when linked to their signature. The one I would like to post when I have reached the big '50' in posting is the latter (i.e. one which has a message to give when linked to my signature).

Hope I have you suitably intrigued and not disappointed when I am able to post it.

I wondered if that's who that was. *grin*

I guess I'm only partly unAmerican.
