Mom and Brandon just took Beemer in. Congrats, Ez, on all counts. What is with the deliverymen today? Neither UPS nor the mail has come yet!

Jennifer--I'm so sorry! It's never an easy decision to make. I'm certain you are oding the right thing. I just ordered a tri-suit (bicycling shorts and jersey in one). I hadn't planned on getting one but someone posted about this great deal. $100 tri-suit for $30. Free shipping, too! It's a sample that they use for teams to try on. So ***goodness*** it's not "new" new, but has not been used. Now, if I could only find a cheap swimsuit. I've gone through 4 of 'em this winter!

Good deal, Hazel! Brandon is now watching his tomahawk throwing DVD, lol. My mom is doing well. Brandon said she cried a lot, but I think she's handling it all quite well.

I have poison ivy. I've not come anywhere NEAR poison ivy this year. My kids have. Two of 'em currently are covered in it. Um hum... I must have gotten it from them. As in from their clothing. I am NOT happy!!! What part of "stay out of the woods, there's poison ivy in there" do they not understand?!

{{{{{Jen and family}}}}} Poison Ivy Russ is horrible allergic. There are wonderful shots for that. I had a wonderful day today. I played games that we don't have here with David, Caleb, Timothy and Rebekah while Sarah was in speech. Then I picked Russ up at work and we had a picnic lunch a the Zoo. Russ left us for the next couple of hours. We went on the long walk and looked at footprints, and really enjoyed watching and talking about the different animals. We also got to see the bintuarung again. The baby lamb has been moved into the regular sheep place with his family. My kids got to carry trees that had to be cut down to the mountain goats, the male camel, Karabu, and then we fed the female camel she ran out of the barn to us because she was so happy. When she got to the tree branches, she actually hoped in the air with excitement. All the animals were so happy. It was the first that they got fresh tree leaves this year and it was their favorite kind too. The zoo gave everyone a free tree to plant at home. the kids came home and planted it in a big container so they can watch it grow for a while before they plant it in its final place.

(((Jen and family))) I won the science books!! YAY!! Spent the evening at the school play for my mom's school. Lots of the kids I taught were in it: Oklahoma. One of her 10th graders had the lead and did a great job. As for Christian bowling alleys: ours is pretty close. No smoking before 6 pm or during children's leagues. No bar or alcahol except one night a year. On New Year's Eve they have 3 sessions of buffet/glow bowling. During the last one from 11-1 or something like that you can BYOB.

Jen, give your mom a hug from me and tell her I'm sorry. I know she'll miss Beemer. I wonder what Sadie will do with no one to pick on? My dh could fix your rice cooker switch, but with airfare and all it might be an expensive repair. I got my friend a wedding card that plays the Chicken Dance. She had expressly said NO Chicken Dance at her wedding, so I couldn't resist. I know she'll crack up. Besides, it was tough to choose a card when the only thought running through my head was wonder how long this one will last? I love her but she is not a believer and all 3 of her children have different fathers. I really do hope she sticks this one out, but she has been raised with the idea that marriages don't last forever and that it's perfectly ok to go your separate ways when things get tough. I will have a busy morning tomorrow. I have to run to the feed store to get the bag of alfalfa I thought I had. My neighbor is coming over to band a baby goat that I thought was a girl but turned out to be a boy (hey, the lights were off when I looked, and my neighbor disbudded the same baby goat and didn't catch it either ) and then I have to put on respectable clothes and get out of here by 11:30. Moreover, I have to get my dh out of here by 11:30. He is not good at telling time and thinks that if I say 11:30, then 11:45 is close enough.

Good morning everyone!! It is beautiful and sunny, but I know that sun is making things "look" prettier than what it is. It is really COLD outside, as in winter cold!!! We had a game last night. They usually play 6 innings, they were tied, so they went into 7 innings, still tied. They started an 8th inning but then someone called the game due to a two hour time limit. The kids coaches got into a big fight over that (men!). The poor kids wanted to go home, they were SOOOO cold! My cold settled into my ear, it is plugged. I've never had a plugged ear due to a cold. It is annoying!! I have a stomach ache, too. I had a 23 month baby break...now, my body chooses to go back to 'normal' right now... so stomach ache and all.... what nice timing, before I go on a trip in a couple days! Okay, enough complaining We have games at 3 today and I am hoping the weather will be as nice as it is now!! It isn't suppose to stay nice, but oh... I sure hope so!

Today will be a long and tiring day. We didn't get home from the play till around 11 so the kids were up late...and so was I. THey have their last week of bowling (YAY!!!) today. DD1 is at a soccer game though. THen we will go up to the church yardsale/chicken BBQ for a while. The youth are working at it so DD1 is going right from her game. It's to raise money for the church mission trip this summer.

(((Jen & family))) Zoe - glad you won the books!! Sounds like some of you have a busy day today (games, weddings, fundraisers...)! Well, our day is busy, but it's all stuff we need to do around the house. I HAVE to get in & clean out our school room. It is a mess & our used book sale is on Tuesday - if I don't clean up, I won't find all the things I want to sell. I also need to figure out what things I'm looking for. Which requires figuring out what we want to use next year. That may not happen before Tuesday, since I haven't even thought about it yet. I feel WAY behind, because I usually have the next year mapped out by this time. I'm trying to give myself a break, since it's been just a bit busy around here since the 1st of the year. We also need to mow & of course, the house could use to be cleaned. On top of that, I really need to get the May newsletter done for the hs group, since the 1st is this coming Thursday! I can't believe it's almost MAY!! Update on the situation with my niece - the police told her NOT to take her daughter to visitation today. He was supposed to pick her up at my niece's job. So, the managers took her off the register & have her working in the back. My brother & SIL are on the way to my parents with great-niece (& my nephews). Niece has been told that even though she took a shower, the DNA on her clothing should be enough to charge him. Whether he'll be convicted or not is anyone's guess. We are thinking the police are going to show up at her work when he arrives & arrest him. We think he has NO idea this is coming. Prayers would be appreciated!! Dh had a good bday yesterday (he's 40 now)!! Dd made him a t-shirt that said "Yeah, it's hard to believe, but the best dad in the world owns this t-shirt". He really likes it! He wore it yesterday! We went to the science museum, then out to eat & to see a movie at the dollar theater (Spiderwick Chronicles - it was good, but I wouldn't take a young child because it was very intense, even ds was a bit scared I think )! Well, I'd better go get started on all that work huh? Hope everyone has a nice Saturday!

(((((Jenn))))) Happy for you and your books, Zoe! I am having a bad day, if anyone would care to lift me up in prayer. My dog's best friend, Cassie the golden Retriever, has been very ill lately. We found out last night it is acute lymphoma all over. She is now in doggy heaven. We all loved that dog, the whole neighborhood. Also, go a letter from the college. Even though my daughter is well qualified, there are no longer any spots available. I am crushed by this news. I have never been turned down for admission anywhere, and I thought starting in March would be plenty of time. Apparently not for this school. So, since Micheal is even farther away from getting all their paperwork completed, he will probably get the same letter. I guess they can reapply for fall 2009. But my hopes were so high. I thought this place was the perfect fit for my students and their situation. In the meantime, Ivy league school brochures, along with many other state and private college brochures show up in the mail every day. She could probably be accepted at any school we can afford, except the one place she wanted to go.

Mr. Rooter is here. I should bake him brownies! My landlord has come and gone. He was quite impressed with the boys' landscaping project, not upset about Brandon's new tomahawk throwing hobby, and unhappy to find out that the neighbors have a dog (which is not controlled). No complaints about our half of the house, AND he says he's finally going to pull the junipers out front...which I will believe when I see, lol. Brandon got his algebra done already and my mom is picking him up in half an hour to take him to the Alpaca Festival so he can sit and spin alpaca yarn or whatever it is that the fiber arts crowd does out there, lol. I made baked oatmeal for breakfast and it was very yummy. My house, of course, is much cleaner than 24 hours ago, and my to-do list is made up. All in all, not bad for a morning.

Amy and Shadow - prayers are going up. Ellie - praying for your health. Jenny - sorry to hear about the family pet. Prayers going up for you too. We will be heading out to my dad's today. The kids will finally get to see those baby chicks. LOL They are excited. I received the official papers for the trial. Getting those made the whole situation more real. I'm really not looking forward to standing in front of a bunch of strangers and going into detail about what happen to me. Nor am I looking forward to the defending lawyers trying to discredit me. I know what I'm doing is the right thing but that doesn't make it any easier. I really wish I could mind meld with my husband so he could understand how difficult this is for me and that I can't simply shut it out until it's time to speak my peace. But since that is simply not possible I have to trust that God will help him understand. Thanks for letting me get a few thoughts out of my brain. Have a good day everyone.

There were some folks at the fest that had alpacas. ~ezri

Well, todoay went well DD1 lost her soccer game but she goalied well, my parents said. Bowling was the end of the season. DS got a big trophy for 2nd place (out of 3 teams). He also got a patch for highest series. DD's are on the same team and were 4th place out of 7 teams. DD2 also had the 2nd highest game all season for their age group. Teams 1-4 and then a few special recognitions got special trophies, anyone else got a participation trophy, if they didn't have one yet. DD2 got 2 trophies. Yard sale/chicken BBq went well. The church was full of stuff and most of it sold. They made about $1200 on chickens and baked goods. Not sure how much on the yard sale stuff.

They left to go fishing at 6:30 this morning. He said next time he is taking them separately...musta been pains in the backside. Each also got hooked several times.

Each also got hooked several times uh, yeah...Brandon caught a Nathan once when we were fishing. I took a really long nap. i guess I needed it. Nate was watching Magnum PI episodes and I could hear them while I slept and they gave me strange dreams. I have dreamed several times lately that I found or was given a baby. Also, one of the cats slept on top of my head for like an hour. I knew it even in my sleep but couldn't do anything about it.

Thankfully, the hook never went all the way in. I'm sure that would have been an ER visit, which would have been totally uncool on such a nice sunny day. Nick's clothes got hooked twice, by his own hook. Noah's glasses got hooked once. Noah's finger has a hole in it where he hooked himself. Brian got hooked twice by the other guy that went with them. I don't think I'm going fishing with those people anytime soon...they're dangerous! I've never been hooked, by myself or anyone else!
