I guess I haven't had much to talk about either. It has been cloudy and blah for a long time now. I am so sick of snow and clouds. It's depressing to think that we only have about 4 months of warm weather ahead if it starts warming up in May... unless September stays warm this year. I just want Spring to come so I can enjoy warm weather before it is fall again.

Come here. We are nearing and breaking 90*F

Congratulations Beth! My friend is moving OUT of a small town in Wyoming this summer- she said she just got sick of everyone knowing her business and having to drive 2 hours to get to a Wal Mart.

This explains my life for the past four years... in the time I have lived here I personally have seen it snow on both Memorial Day (last Monday of May) and September 30 (luckily not the same year).

I have to do the whole presentation... and get the paper and poster board by myself (and then put the stuff on the board). I feel like, although I have a partner, he's done 5% of the work and I'm doing the other 95%. I went and scanned all the spectra earlier today... I just got done drawing the reactions and molecules on the computer (they don't allow handwritten for presentations)... and that takes a really long time. I was just doing the reactions/molecules for a few hours today. Bad thing is, the faculty/staff comes around and asks questions, and he doesn't even know what we did the whole semester... so I have to answer all the questions.

Tamara- is there a point in time where you are able to evalute him and say how much work he did???

Thanks for the congrates ladies!!!! I am excited about all of this. It is about 20 mins to the nearest Walmart, so not too bad. Plus after living in a city for 7 years, I am ready to get back out into the country. God did not create me to be a city girl- I am a country girl through and through. If I hate it, I can always look at trying to find a job closer to my parents for the following year, but at this point in time, I feel like I need to take this job. The teaching market in Oklahoma is not really very good right now - there is a lot of competition for a few jobs. So I feel blessed to be even given a job.

Good for you Beth; I am just so happy for you. I think this will be a perfect fit for you at this time. Oh, and I hear ya about needing to get out of the city. Even Ryan is through with living in the city. He loves this small town and he doesn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Nope. The only thing he did the entire lab time was evaporate a few things and two H NMRs. I did the IRs, melting-point analyses, recrystallizations.... the reactions themseves to get our products... I picked the our independent project and what tests we would use to verify purity and verify we got the right products... Went to get it approved by myself I wrote down everything in the notebook and attached all the spectra. (He wrote down stuff in the notebook but I typed it out-- he copied it.) I did 100% of the mathematics involved and all the lab reports that we had to turn in before we started the independent projects. That's part of the reason why he doesn't even know what we've been doing and what products we've made. If you ask him right now he has no clue whatseoever and the project took us about 10 weeks to complete. I don't even think he has a lab book.

One of my friends had told me at the beginning of the semester that he wasn't a great student in her classes, but I had no clue how much work that meant I'd have to do by myself.

(((((((((Lisa)))))))) are you feeling any better today?

Yay Beth!!!!! That is awesome!!!

Stacy and Nicole, I guess I now have 2 warm locations to visit he? I would probably die if I flew somewhere and it was 30 out. Gotta get used to those temps gradually.

Catherine, we have seen snow in August after 30C weather before. But I still love it here in Alberta and want to stay! It was a nice winter this year because we barely got any snow and the temps were warm enough not to need a winter jacket most of the time (I wore mine maybe 7 times). It is just annoying now that we are getting so much snow when it is supposed to be Spring.

Jennifer, it always stinks when weekdays are nice and warm and then it gets cold on the weekend like that.

It's sunny!!!! And the snow is melting! I am so happy that I opened all the blinds!

I am looking forward to tomorrow. I get to help Lorne at work! We are going to build a fibreglass console which will be neat! I've always wanted to try to make something out of fibreglass. After that we are going to go look at how much they have built of our new complex so I can take a couple pictures. It is supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow which will rock!

I love my pets! I am glad we found a place that is larger so they will have even more room to run around! And now I don't have to worry about getting rid of any of them.

Oreo... how original. Bonnie is our skinny pretty kitty. I had a cat that looked like her, but had long hair. His name was Rocky. My mom got rid of him because he only liked me. I was not happy.

Crazy. We has a 4.7 earthquake here tonight. Yesterday we had a 4.2 one. Are these things going to keep going and getting stronger?

Hey everyone! I'm a little glad that no-one's been posting. I haven't had too much to catch up on.

I finally had my induction for my new job this past week. I've been there six weeks now. I will use the word interesting to describe Induction. It was not the most enjoyable and we only really learnt practical stuff on the last two of the four days we were there.

I'm here. Haven't been around CW much though the last few days. Been too busy baking cakes for the neighbours. Just something I do every now and again, then just go and surprise them all. The neighbours we know best are kind of used to it, but others of them ask why we're giving cakes away. Fundraising, wanting money, alterior motives. It's sad that people just aren't used to somebody just wanting to give somebody else something to bless them.

Thanks Nicole, yes, I'm starting to feel much better. You could come down to Alabama if you're sick of snow...we almost never see that stuff around here! It's 70ish today but was in the 80's some this week.

That's crazy Catherine. I've only felt the aftershocks from earthquakes that were far away.

Glad you're feeling better Lisa!

Trish, that is so nice of you to do! I would feel confused if someone came and gave me a cake too. I would wonder what they wanted so I understand why people think that way. When I was younger a neighbour lady brought us cookies when we moved in. Her family were mormons and that was their way of trying to get us to go to church with them. I became friends with her daughters and still she tried to get us to come to church. We never did go. So yeah, if a neighbour gave us a cake today I would wonder why.

I had a good day today! I went to work with Lorne which was fun! I built a fibre glass panel which was pretty cool! I hope that when it dries and comes off the mold it works. Lorne just helped me a bit. He pretty much explained how to do things and I worked away! We also went for lunch at the flying club across from his hangar. It was neat watching planes take off one after another. He has a pretty neat job!

It's sunny today too! And warm so the snow is all melted which is great!

Mabruk, Beth! Are you still in Latin America or have you moved back? If it's been ages ago, I'm not surprised I missed it.

Well, M got his gee this weekend and he looks so cute! He was willing to try it on but only if we assured him he wasn't going to taekwondo. LOL But he's going today! He's so stubborn. If it wasn't for the fact that he gives himself away by doing so well in the class and enjoying it so much we'd let him quit but so obviously just a strong will vs the world thing that he's stuck! {Insert evil mother face here-we need one of those, btw.}

My ankles swelled up this weekend. Friday night they just got huge and it didn't get better yesterday. They're squeezed into my shoes now and it's not uncomfortable, but I wonder what's up. It's hot, of course, but except for church and back on Friday morning we didn't get out again. I went out with A last night but not for long and after they were already swollen. Nothing else is bothering me. I guess I just didn't drink enough water Friday? I'm sure drinking it today. Speaking of which, I need to head to the little girls' room (OK, actually the staff room )

Ciao, ladies!

Nicole ~ What a neat experience going with Lorne must have been yesterday...how cool for you!

Thursday ~ sorry to hear about the swelling, if extra water and a bit of time propping them up doesn't make it better you really should get that checked.

Having a wonderful day so far, had a great time at worship this morning and now back at home listening to the rain and giving myself a manicure (in between coats of polish I'm surfing the net...it's about the only thing I can do and not mess them up...lol)
