I'm here, though I really shouldn't be. I should be reading. *slaps hand* Oh, come now. I have it on good authority that women are excellent multitaskers. (Me I just have a one-track mind that experiences frequent derailments.) -Robb We can be!! But you have to WANT to be doing what you're supposed to be doing. Oh, is THAT how the male mind works?? See, now all this time, I thought y'all thought multiple thoughts throughout your silence? Well, one track at a time I should say. We can have multiple thoughts, we just have to take them in order. -Robb

Okay, here's "Tink's Embarrassing Story For The Day" *clears throat* Upon the advice of a former good friend, I decided to grab a bite to eat and sit outside. One of the guys here in the office joined me so we ventured to the cafeteria, grabbed some sandwiches and made ourselves comfy under a nice shade tree. I didn't get my first bite of sandwhich when I felt something wet on my head and my friend's eyes went wide. Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen; a bird pooped on me. *groan* I thought he was going to DIE laughing! After attempting to smack him senseless we wandered around until we found someone with shampoo that I could borrow and wash the poop out of my hair. *sigh* Thank GOD my office is pretty closed in and I don't have to deal with people too often, but STILL! I scrubbed it then shoved it back in a bun to be dealt with when I get home. Needless to say the suggestor is going to get an earful when I get a chance to vent. *glares pointedly*

ORIGINAL: followtheLeader Nadine, how are you? You'll be starting school in the Fall, right? What major, again? Hi Esther!....good question on the school....I really should be dealing with that right now, but I'm having a hard enough time dealing with the day to day stuff. I do need to get a job though. I'm not really motivated to do that eithr I'm afraid. Maybe I should head over to the prayer thread an pray for motivation or a miracle....whichever God prefers. So...why do you need to get a job? Not prying, just wondering. With what God provided, I was able to stay home for a very long time. Maybe the reason you are not motivated is because it's not time yet? Just thinking... besiderself You might be right about the timing for school. I may take something I can register for at the last minute like a computer class or 2. I want to get a job though because my budget has no wiggle room at all. I love this big old house I live in but stuff keeps breaking and I have to pay the deductable. It adds up fast. Also I need to make enough to make a car payment, because my car is a '99 and it really should be replaced sometime soon. Really all of this is giving me a headache....sometimes I would rather be dilusional and think that PC is going to ride in on his white horse and save the day. Today I feel like I need a hero. Tomorrow, hopefully God will give me the measure of grace I need to handle all this stuff that I do not want to handle today. KWIM. Aren't you glad you asked? Sorry...went off a little there.

ORIGINAL: soccermom_4_life Ok, I am totally at a loss.... How do you quote within a quote?(white box inside white box inside white box....) You just nest the (quote) (/quote) tags (only use brackets instead of parentheses - I don't know how to properly escape the brackets to show them). So in the compose window it looks like: (quote)ORIGINAL: so-n-so (quote)ORIGINAL: some-other-person Some-other-person's post (/quote) So-n-so's response to that post (/quote) Which ends up looking like this: quote:
ORIGINAL: so-n-so quote:
ORIGINAL: some-other-person Some-other-person's post So-n-so's response to that post Hope that helps! -Robb

The following is not a joke (so it doesn't fit on the joke thread) so I hope it's ok to post here. I'm sure most have seen it or something like it before, but sometimes we need to be reminded of these things. There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in. Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. 'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly. 'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply. 'I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.' The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say. That surprises you, doesn't it?' the young woman asked. I'm puzzled by the request,' said the Pastor. The young woman explained. 'My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming...like velvety chocol ate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!' So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder 'What's with the fork?' Then I want you to tell them: 'Keep your fork the best is yet to come.' The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming. At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket andsaw the fork in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, 'What's with the fork?' And over and over he smiled. During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either. He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come.
