Lord, I come to you to pray for Nan, I lift her up to you tonight that you hold her tightly until this pain eases, just be there with her every day, every minute, watch over her as she sleeps, as she does her daily activities, as she goes on her interviews. Please provide her with a wonderful job with good christian people, financial stability. Please Lord, give her peace and comfort through all of this, let her think of the wonderful memories, the wonderful places they have been to, let her have a smile on her face and not be sad when she sees these places and memories because she will get to see her Bob one day Lord.... Nan, I can only imagine what you are feeling after being with someone for so long, but I didn't think that heartache could ever feel this bad until this last couple of weeks.... I love you!!!!! kc

On Nan, You are NOT a pain to us!! Never, dear sister! Please continue to share your ups, downs and tears and never doubt that you are loved and we are grieving with you. You know that Jim and I are soulmates, as you and Bob are soulmates, so your loss is overwhelming to me. I can only imagine what you are going through every minute, awake or asleep! The sense of loss must be so very intense. We've never had money, so silly things became adventures to us. I understand exactly what you mean about every place being 'our' place. I think of you almost constantly. I grieve with you and for you. I'm overwhelmed with thoughts of what this must be like for you. There is no way I can fully know what you are facing ....... Praying for only good thoughts and happy memories. Praying for a wonderful job that will give you purpose and joy. Praying for wonderful Bible studies and group activities through church that will uplift you and allow you to minister to others. Praying for your finances to be blessed so that your needs are met and no worry about those issues. Praying for peaceful sleep, happy dreams and oodles and oodles of grandbabies. I love you dear friend, and pray for you all during the day, Diane

Lord, I lift up Nan to You. Lord, her love was great and her pain is great. Thank You for the time they had together. Heal her pain Lord. Let her wake up refreshed. With new hope, new courage, new strength, and renewed faith in You. Thank You that You are there with her every minute of the day. That You will never leave her. Encourage her today Lord. Help her to focus. Help her with that job that is just right for her, and use her to Your glory there. Bless her and help her, and help her to keep her eyes on the prize. You dear Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

Lord, be with Nan. I am praying Nan you might read a good book, down the line. I think you may relate to it. It is Joan Didion's "The Year of Magical Thinking." Her husband died, and it is her walk through her grief...She is amazing her insights on grief of losing a loved one---and her soul mate, too. I thought of you and and my own grief experience when I read this part. Here I share it with you, and others... 'People who have recently lost someone have a certain look, recognizable maybe only to those who have seen that look on their own faces," Joan Didion writes in her new memoir. "I have noticed it on my face and I notice it now on others. The look is one of extreme vulnerability, nakedness, openness. It is the look of someone who walks from the ophthalmologist's office into the bright daylight with dilated eyes, or of someone who wears glasses and is suddenly made to take them off." I pray Nan that this helps you see that what you are going thru is very real to others who have walked this path. You are not alone. I am praying for you and empathizing with you, as well -- a fellow traveler who cares for you at this time. ~dagmar

Dear All, thank you for your heartfelt prayers. Wow. They give me such strength in the morning silence, which is deafening... Well, today's task. Another interview. I actually want this one. Please pray for me. Missing bob has become physically painful. As I said, I guess reality is sinking in. My daughter and her husband bought a house....only 50 min. away. A lot different than 3 1/2 hours at college, or for four years 6 hours away. I only wish Bob, the ultimate family dad, was here to enjoy it....he longed for a time long this. Life can be very heartless and cruel, that is for sure. He also longed to spoil his grandchildren, to no avail. Our only wants were so innocent and simple, it is very hard to understand why they could not come true. :( I am looking into a seminar at a near by United Methodist called GriefShare. Sounds VERY helpful and I believe that I need it. It is about 8 weeks long. I left a message last evening and sent an email. Also having supper probably Friday, with a Dear friend my age who lost her hubby to leukemia after a year, 10 years ago at 41. She is a super spiritual Christian who survived by the grace of God. (Like we all do) So I am definitely reaching O U T. In fact our silent house is very tough. It has all been my prayer haven of love and faith, and just feels empty. Period. So my haven has become something else I can't really describe. If it weren't for Sadie's warm body.....and loud barks at time, it would be intolerable in ways. I want the memories of it, and they also make it hard... That's grief. Thank you for everybody's prayers and love and hugs thru the internet. :) PLEASE pray for my job. Love to all, pw nan

Prayer Warrior, yesterday I saw a big bird flying in the sky, (I can't swear it was an eagle, but I like to think it was.) and I though of you. May God bless you and keep you today. May He lift you up. May He heal you in body, and soul, and give you rest. This is my prayer for Prayer Warrior today, Lord. May You be a strong and loving presence in her life today. In Jesus name. Amen

Praying for you as well, Nan. I think that bird just may have been a sign from your Bob. What an amazing Eagle of strength he was to all of us on this Prayer site. He fought a hard fight, and he is now a free Eagle flying above us, I believe. He is surely watching over you. Jesus understands all you are going thru. Trust him with all your concerns, IN Jesus Name, amen

Thank you all. You are such a precious group of real friends. Well, today, I got insurance payment records regarding bob, and suddenly their covereage all dropped to half. I called his company, who called them, but probably won't hear until next week. (Too bad they sent it out before a special weekend, and then they don't respond!) Very irritating. So far, they are behind in paying for about $12,000!!!! They never do the same thing twice! Today I did many things. Had a dr. visit, got 2 persciptions. (this will be the last 2 ever, with bob's insurance) Even that made me cry. Endings of small things are very hurtful right now. I had to call his credit card company and almost couldn't talk, as I felt his wallet, looked at his driver's license, etc. It occured to me today that as I gentley looked at his closet, his wallet, his prayer cross (the best!), his glasses, his stuff....that those were familiar delilghtful things I knew he touched a lot, held, wore, etc....His wallet is so beautifully worn. He never bought himself much of anything, as my son testifyed about at his funeral... But, it then really hit me. We really are here for an instant...a moment in time, and then we are gone. Gone to heaven in his case. Praise Jesus. If anyone thinks this life is long, whether 2 years or 80 years, it just isn't. These things were things that he needed to be here, on earth. But what counts is who bob was. His legacy of love. His memories. Our memories of him. The spiritual....so ignored by more than 75% of the people on earth.....is the ONLY thing we really are. The ONLY permanent thing we are. Our spirit. Our memories. Our love. If we glorified God. If we gave our hearts to Jesus. Did Bob? Yes. Does he? Yes. Nothing has changed, except that Bob gets to see something we only dream about and seek so desperately to "get to." I can't touch him. I miss him. I desperately wish I could hug him. But he still IS. He is with God. I will be with him again. It will seem horribly long and is horribly painful. I can't think about it. I really can't focus on days, months, or years. But I will hug him again. I will kiss him again. I will see him wink at me again. I will see his crooked adorable smile again. I will hear him pray for our children again.....and our grandchildren..... I will play cribbage and scrabble and card games with him again. I will run through the woods and look for pelicans and cranes and eagles ...again. I pray somehow, our God, can sustain me when my hearts breaks anew. (which it is as I type) But praise to Jesus, our Lord, I will see them ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! Please keep me uplifted as I try to survive Labor Day weekend. The weekend we met. The weekend we got engaged. Our 'second' anniversary we always celebrated with great joy. Please keep me uplifted as I continue to fight insurance companies who just don't quit being irritating and threatening with very real funds they are NOT paying. Please keep me uplifted as I seek God's face. I am just starting to do that again. Please pray for that as it is extremely important that I feel His arms around me.....for the first time since Bob died and went to be with Him. I appreciate you all, and pray you have a gloriuos 3-day weekend. I pray you ALL see an eagle, and think of God first, and then bob and I. :) May you be blessed beyond description. Love and hugs, pw nan

Prayer Warrior, when I read you post a little earlier, I could see not only your pain, but your strength. (Although I'm sure you don't feel strong right now.) But you are. And I saw your fathfulness to the Lord, no matter what. God bless you tonight PW. My prayer is that you will sleep well, with sweet dreams, and wake up in the morning refreshed and at peace. (Let it be, Lord.)

Thank you all. Saturday, this morning, I took a 40 min. walk on 'our' walk down along the river. It was pure and beautiful, hard and poignant. I pretended I was holding his hand. It was bittersweet AND sweet. I also did goofy normal things like spray for bugs all around our house, which I do every fall. One gallon of Ortho Home Defense has lasted me over 15 years. :) Last night, I had a wonderful spiritual 2 1/2 hour supper with a spirit-blessed friend. She lost her dear hubby after one year with leukemia when they were 41. Ten years ago. We cried and laughed and cried and laughed and told each other facts about each other's husbands we didn't know. :) She is so honest and direct. So wonderful. All my friends here are honest and direct. They are the ones I am close to. I am the same way, and I really can't get close to people who 'beat around the bush', can't answer a direct question, etc....(like a lot of politicians). She is 52 and still ready to take on the world for Christ. :) I am babysitting darci's dog today. she and her husband both have a severe case of the flu. Well, more later. Door bell ringing
