In response to the OP, from what I'm reading 3rd, 4th hand, I'm infuriated! To the poster, this 16 year old is a young adult, not a boy. He's old enough to drive a car! I'm ticked off that these people are so controlling and act as if he's unable to make an decision. I have a 16 year old and 18 year old. They aren't completely mature but my husband and I would never treat them like that. The parents need parenting classes. I hope that this kid can get out. He will have problems with responses like that. My kids didn't dust off their computer desk on Monday like I'd asked. When I saw it hadn't been done on Tuesday I said, "HEY! No internet until it's done!" It's clean now. It's about choices, not hitting at this stage in the game. With discipline, even at this age, give them options.
