Good to hear about the weddings and new homes!

This year's really starting to resemble a movie: 4 Weddings and a Funeral. So far we have Mike's Bro and my youngest cousin who have already had their weddings, then in August Mike's Cousin I've Never Met gets married, and in Dec. I have another cousin getting hitched.

The funeral will likely be for Mike's uncle who has terminal cancer and is nearing the end; however he has become a Christian/accepted Jesus and His forgiveness, so we're thankful for that part.

Micah, we'll be in your old stomping grounds for the August wedding! It's in Portland OR and we're finally taking a trip to that city and whatever else in the NW we can squeeze in.

Di, if I were to order any Pampered Chef stuff from you, would there be major shipping charges? Just wondering.....

Karen, my dearest, I will PM you ....

Good to hear from you!

My car is done! Now all it needs to be running perfectly is a turn signal switch, which is $125 for the part alone, not counting the cost to tear apart the steering column! Celebrated by pumping in $61 worth of gas that will not leak out. At least I had $18 in "fuel perks" savings on it, so it really cost me $43.

Hey Karen! Long time no see! I've been wondering how you're doing! Sorry to hear about Mike's uncle. Glad he's made his peace with God though.

Di, great news about your car.

Hey everyone,

Di, sorry about the car woes. I just put $400 into my 20 year old car for a new gas tank and gas line, so I know just what you mean. At least now all my expensive gas doesn't just flow out on the ground anymore!

Weight loss, working out, man you guys are hard to keep up with!

I've been playing on the church softball team, and doing a little kayaking, but that's about it. Otherwise I'm just working all the time, and my job has been so stressful that I actually started crying at work today.

I SO need a new job.

It's hot and humid here, and the bugs love me more than anyone else in the world. I itch everywhere. I sure hate summer!

My daughter's softball team finished an undefeated season last week, so she's really happy about that. I caught her creating a profile on a 'social networking site', so she's grounded from the internet, and really unhappy about that.

We spent the night in the basement a couple of weeks ago due to the tornados, but nothing touched down, so we're both really thankful about that.

We got the dog shaved...can't help but laugh looking at her. We take in a big wooly bear wolf dog, and get back a naked black lab. Just too funny how she acts all embarassed.

That's pretty much it from here. How are y'all?

Ruthie, you shaved your dog? Why?

Still having pain problems etc. I'm on a short course of prednisone, and hopefully that will help.

Ok, how did we manage to get to July? That means that we're half way through the year. YIKES!

Where I am is the early hours of the 2nd of July. Today would have been my dad's 80th birthday had he been alive. This time next week, he has been gone for 7 years. I miss him.

Hi everybody. How are you all doing?

Today's been a painful day. Physically, it hasn't been a good day, and yesterday was 7 years since my dad passed away. I've finally got the name of a doctor who specialises in fibromyalgia. Now I just have to get an appointment. Easier said than done. Have been trying to call her office for the last 2 days, but nobody's answered the phone yet. I'll keep trying.

What have you all been up to?

Hey Trish, sorry to hear it's been a painful day. I hope you can get a hold of that doc and get some help.

I got the dog shaved because she is half husky, and has incredibly thick, long fur, and she gets so hot during the summer. She's also difficult to care for with such a long coat. So we get her shaved in summer, and then by the time winter comes, her coat is all grown in again.

It has been a painful day for me, too. I am normally a very private and shy person. (I never, never use my real name on the net, I have an unlisted phone number, I refused to give out my social security number for the US census, etc.) I've had multiple problems in my job; as a government employee I've been attacked verbally many times; however today I found out that I'm being written about on a website! I'm just devastated. This group is publishing slander about me and trying to get me fired, and I have no way to respond or protect myself. Please pray that God protects me and my family, and that I can find a new job!

So, that's my life. What's up with you folks?

Oh Ruthie, I'm so sorry that you're going through this! Is there any way that you can contact the admin of the site and get this person dealt with? You'll certainly be in my prayers. It makes you wonder why a person does something like this.

I finally have an appointment with a rheumatologist in mid August. Hopefully I'll finally have some help.

Ruthie, I agree ... they should not be able to slander you on the web site. The owners of that site can be sued for libel! (Written slander!) I would contact the owner of the web site and tell him that if he does not pull this stuff down, you will have your lawyer get in touch with him!

Meanwhile, know that protection comes from the Lord!

I am also posting a prayer request on behalf of Shaunii. We were supposed to connect this evening and see her beautiful city. Unfortunately, she left me a voice mail stating that her grandmother had a massive stroke! She asked me to post a request so you all could pray.

We went down to the Navy Pier. What a beautiful city this is! We saw Cirque at a local park and fireworks. Also ... I won a whirlwind shopping spree and HUNDREDS of dollars worth of Pampered Chef products. Only thing I know that was in it was a stainless cookware set I needed BADLY. I had my mom's old copper-bottom pans with handles held together with duct tape! I won't find out everything that is in the box until they send it to me. It's the ultimate surprise box!

Ruthie, that's horrible!! Do you know who's doing it? You can go to whois.com and find out who the website owner is (if it's not private) and their contact info. Can the police do anything? Have you copied (print screen) what's been written against you in case it might be useful later? That's scary.

Hey all,

Thanks Diane. My grandmother passed away last night. I'm doing as well as can be expected and am in "do" mode... the services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday...

Shaunii, I'm so sorry. I'm praying for you and your family.

Ruthie, that's aweful! I'm praying for you and your job situation too.

Well, VBS is officially over! I have some follow-up postcards to send to the prospects and have to get my report done but otherwise, it's over until next year! We had a great week but boy did I not know what I was doing!!!! LOL!!! But we made it through the week and by Friday I was doing everything the pastor was doing earlier in the week. We had a few kids who want to talk to the pastor about getting saved. That made everything worth it all!

Josie is having her tear ducts probed Thursday. She has to go to the hospital (thankfully it's local, unlike her lip/nose surgery!) and she will be put to sleep for the procedure but it's relatively minor. They call it "surgery" but it's just a procedure. Any prayers are happily accepted and appreciated.

Other than that, not much else to report. Oh, I'm starting to think of ideas for Josie's Christmas stocking. That may sound silly to you guys but it means a lot to me...I haven't taken time to do any crafts/sewing/quilting since before Josie was born. I'm getting the fever though! No telling what all I'll end up making!!

Hey Tammy! Good to hear from you! I've been wondering how you've been going. Aww, Josie's first Christmas. That will be really special. Have fun making whatever you decide to make. Please let us know how Josie's procedure goes. Great news about VBS!

Shaunii, keep us posted, will you? Please don't hesitate to call. You have my cel phone number.

Prayers going out to Josie and her mommy and daddy.

Well, the items from my "whirldwind shopping spree" show up on my doorstep tomorrow! I am going to resist the urge to open them and do a big reveal in front of my family and friends. It will be a "Christmas in July" because we are waiting on the Blue Santa. I hope some people RSVP and that my air conditioning is fixed before I bake some Christmas cookies!

Thanks for your prayers and support. The funeral will be Saturday at 11am. All of her children are wearing white and then they want anyone else in the family that has white to wear it... well at least now I know what I'll be wearing.

In other news, I received and accepted a job offer. It came the day before Grandma's stroke... so I'm employed. I really am excited about it... I just can't find the "yippee" I had on Friday.
