How soon is it before the prophecy of 1Thessolonians 4:16-18 is fulfilled? I believe that the day when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back to raptures His people out of here.
I strongly believe that the months ahead are going to be more and more perilous with each passing day. I believe that with all my heart. I don't understand how it can not be. We are seeing attempts to put out the Olympic flame with every country it travels to (because of the situation in Tibet), we are seeing violence in many parts of the world, because of rising food prices. (Example: In Haiti, thousand of protesters rioted outside government offices. Some had empty plates in protest, because they have nothing to eat) Haw long is it before all this comes to America? Think about for a minute. I know I am going to step on some toes, but America does not have a clue of how blessed they are. And if you think I'm wrong, next time you are in a U.S. supermarket, spend a half hour in front of the pet food section and look at the labels. Look at what it contains. Real beef, real liver, real chicken, and real fish, because in many other countries, this is considered a delicacy to humans, but here in the U.S. we give it to Lassie or Morris. And tragically, the people here in America take all this for granted. Gas prices, oil prices, food prices, etc; they are not going to go down any time soon. Why? Because first of all, this world is getting more and more violent. Especially in the Middle East (which I will go into in a moment) and second, you have countries like India and China that were not industrialized 15 years ago are industrialized today, and are dependant on oil or the automobile.
The U.S. President (George W. Bush) wants to broker a peace deal between Israel and the Palistinians by the end of 2008. But the Bible talks about a world politician who will broker a 7 year peace agreement between Israel and her Arab neighbors. According to Daniel 9:26-26, it will not be America that will broker this 7 year peace agreement. Because it will be the empire that destroyed the city, (Israel) destroyed the second temple and killed over 1 million Jews. That happened in 70 AD when a Roman Emperor named, Vespacus and his son, a Roman general named Titus destroyed Jerusalem, the second temple and killed over a million Jews in 70 AD. In 1959, the Treaty of Rome was ratified on the same Capitaline Hill steps where Juleua Caesar once ruled and reign. The purpose of this treaty is to bring forth a united Europe. It was 6 nations in 1959. Today the European Union has 27 nations. It has a single common currency, (the Euro) that has gone above and beyond the value of the U.S. dollar. (I think it was $1.57 against the Euro last I looked) Out of the European Union, a world leader will rise into power. The Bible calls calls him the Antichrist, and he (and not America) will broker this 7 year peace treaty. (Daniel 9:27) But midway through this peace agreement, the Antichrist himself will violate this treaty. Why? Because this one who claims to be the Messiah is nothing more than a phoney. and Amrmegeddon begins.
It is easy to see how this world dictator will rise into power. Unrest will topple nation after nation throwing this world into chaos and anarchy. Whole nations and cultures will be dissatisfied with their national leaders, who are proving less and less effective in handling the choking issues facing our world today. A nose diving economy, high crime, starvation, homelessness, rioting in the streets, (Sound familiar?) It is this frustrated world that will be the world that will wecome (with open arms) the advent of a single attractive world leader. Someone who has the charisma to sway public opinion, as well as allign the hearts and minds of the entire world. He will have such great supernatural power that to the Jews, he will be their Messiah, to the Arabs, he will be theit Allah. He will seem like the perfect solution to a tired and broken down planet.
He will also cause all people to receive a mark (Probably the Verichip) on their right or forehead. That no man may buy or sell unless he had the mark. Already, we are seeing more and more people using cash lass and less and conditioning themselves for this event with the credit card.
Where will the Christians be when the 7 year Tribulation happens? We will be in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven. He will rapture us out of here before any of this happens. So we need to get our affairs in order and get ready!, get ready!, get ready! Because that day id coming, and it is coming very, very soon.

Jesus may return today or 500 years from now. We don't know.

But we DO know that unless He returns first, we are going to die. It may be today, next week, or next year. So we need to be ready because that day is coming very, very soon.

In Matthew 24, Jesus talked pretty lengthly regarding His immanant return. And when He did, He did not talk about the things that would preceed the rapture, but His second coming. Yes, Jesus did say in verse 36, that the day and the hour knows no man, not even the angels, but His Father only. We do not know the exact day or hour when the Lord will come, but in verse 33, Jesus also says, "When you see all these things (signs of His return) know that it is near, even at the doors." In other word, Christ commands us to know the signs of His coming.
I do not believe that it will be 100 years before the rapture. Jesus said in verse 34, that this generation will not pass until all these things are fullfilled. Jerusalem returning under the control of Israel (which happened in the six day Arab-Israeli war in June of 1967) did not not happen in any other generation but this one. an increase of knowledge (the internet explosion, CNN, etc) did not happen in any generation but this one. The Mideast peace process did not happen in any other generation but this one. The euro did not happen in any other generation, but this one. Yes, there have been wars and conflict ever since Cain looked the other way at Abel, but we did not have enough nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons to destroy the entire planet but this generation. And when you see superpowers like the United States and Russia having nukes, it's one thing, but when you have third world nations like India and Pakistan having nukes, that has to make you stop and think for a minute.
A generation is passed from father to son to grandson to great-grandson. That is 4 generations, and that alone is about 100 years.
Look at Matthew 1: verse 1-17, and the liniage between Abrahan to Christ. That is 42 generations. 2,160 years. That is approximately 51.4 years

You just might be reading too much LaHaye or Lindsay and too little scripture.

Have you noticed that, despite all the special emails circulating, there is no Temple yet in Jerusalem. What if the current Israel isn't the one that will occupy the Holy Land in the last days?

And a generation was generally thought to be a score of years (20) until folk like Lindsay and LaHaye began having problems fitting their brand of eschatology into current events. That's only father to son - not 4 generations. (How can A generation be 4 generations????)

But whatever we "think" about the timing of the Lord's return doesn't make it so. Whether He returns within the next 50 years or not, many of us will be face to face with Him before then. How well we've been able to fit the newspaper into our eschatolgy isn't likely to be one of the things He'll use to decide if He calls us good and faithful servants. What do you think?

That was an excellent compilation, which 51.4 years, and when added to 1967 is 2016, minus the 7 year trib = 2009 …for example
LINKA large U.S. health care company is said to be working with Toumaz, aiming to field the silicon-backed patches in a hospital setting before the end of 2009. Companies including GE and Philips are reported to have similar projects in the lab.

Jesus said we wouldn’t know the day or the Hour but Dans 70th week is going to be as precise as the prophecies in the OT were… number wise.

Well, if you want a prophecy that gives you a timeline to look at then I suggest lookin at the book of Hosea.

To start with the first chapter of Hosea tells us that a "day of Jezreel" is coming. And according to the prophecy here it was fortold that both kingdoms of Israel and Judah would cease to exist. Also it is also predicted that for a period of time that the Israelites would be rejected by God for a length of time. But that both the houses of Judah and Israel would someday be restored to their former privleges as God's favorites.
And that the offspring of Israel would ba as numerous as the sand of the sea.

Now later on in Hosea he makes a minor error. He tells us approximatly when this day of Jezreel occurs. Look at the verses of chap 6 verses 1, 2, and 3.
1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

The length of their punishment is supposed to be 2 days followed by one day. The day of Jezreel. So how long are these days?

Look at 2nd Peter 3-8.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalms 90-4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Those days are 1000 year periods of time.

So it has been 1938 years since the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. But there is anothe problem. Those bibical curses tend to run for awhile before they start taking effect. The first known curse in the bible was given to Soloman because he gave in to one of his heathen wives and worshiped an idol with her. But it was also explained that the curse given was to fall upon his children. And the curse was that ten of the tribes would rebel and break away. Which happened years later to Rehoboam his son. So this curse is a bit older that 1938 years.

So do we know when the curse started? Of course you know if you are a Christian. The curse started at the moment of the death of Jesus Christ.
So it ends at the 2000th anniversary of the death of Jesus Christ.

My guess is that this curse is 1980 years old. Plus or minus a couple of years.

So this has to be the Israel that rebuilds the Temple.

Not if you believe what Christ says in Matthew:

Matt 24:27-31
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The saints will go through the tribulation. Please compare above with:


Rev 6:9-11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Please don't believe the false prophets who say they know when Jesus is coming back and keep giving us dates. The bible says no one, except the Father. However, the last days will be filled with immorality and wickedness.

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." (Matthew 24:36)

"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah." (Matthew 24:37)

"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. The LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD." (Genesis 5-10)

As I stated in another thread which basically covered the same issue, the Millerites were disappointed; the Campbellites (JW's) said they knew the date too (Jesus came in 1914 and we're just waiting for him to prove...whatever...) Faithful nailed it:

I'm afraid you are right. In spite of the predictions people make regarding soon coming events, they are going to be disappointed when it doesn't happen in the way they think it will.

In my life time, there have been books, pamphlets, sermons and such predicting time lines for the fulfillment of various prophecies. It has only led me to believe that premil, pre-trib Dispensationalism is simply wrong. You'd think that they could get at least one of their newspaper based predictions right.

Look up and read in the OT where David numbered the fighting men of Israel, which was followed by the wrath of God. That prophecy is going to be fulfilled here in this current day.....

.........There is a move in the US government to number the fighting men of Israel, which means in Church standards they are trying to force church ministries who are prospering in the work of the Lord to disclose members and contributors, no doubt for harassment intentions now that the computers have attained mass calculations.

Which only is the second step in the establishment of the new world order in the US, which started as Bilderberg and Trilateral Commission

The Trilateral Commission is a private organization, established to foster closer cooperation between America, Europe and Japan. It was founded in July 1973, at the initiative of David Rockefeller; (Trade Centers) who was Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations at that time....

The organization has come under much scrutiny and criticism by political activists and academics working in the social and political sciences. The Commission has found its way into a number of conspiracy theories, especially when it became known that President Jimmy Carter appointed former Commission members to senior positions in his Administration. Later it was revealed that Carter himself was a former Trilateral members to Cabinet positions and held a reception for the Commission in the White House in “”1984. =George Orwell)


This Commission was to come under media scrutiny when it was later disclosed that Carter appointed former Commission members (who must resign before taking up government positions) to senior positions in his Administration.

Moreover, it also came out that Carter himself was a former Trilateral member. (The Clinton Administration, by contrast, had close to a dozen Commission members, including Clinton himself; both Gerald Ford and George Bush Sr. were also Trilateralists.)


The John Birch Society, believes that the Trilateral Commission is dedicated to a one-world government. In 1980, Holly Sklar released a book titled Trilateralism: the Trilateral Commission and Elite Planning for World Management.



With the first warning given by the attacks on the world trade center is a reminder.
The second is a move in the US government to number the fighting men of Israel, which means in Church standards they are trying to force church ministries who are prospering in the work of the Lord to disclose members and contributors, but In those church organizations that do not know nor preach the word of God, they are not worried about, because they are no threat, and may have already disclosed the information.[8|]

So watch out who your voting for, it could be the last.

Now I'm officially scared, heh..

But I have thought about that quite a few times. This election could be the last election in history. There are so many bad people running for president. And by bad, I mean just their ideas when it comes to changing our Country. We would definitely be going backwards with so many of the candidates plans. Although I like to be prepared and watch out for the signs, I try not to think about it too much otherwise the fear will just run my life. I truly need to fix my relationship with God and put all of my trust in Him. For real...

Well The Bible does tell us that when these things "begin" to happen.....

25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.

27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 Now when these things (v25-26) begin to happen, "look up" and lift up your heads, “because” your (our) our redemption draws near." = v27

It's already on the way... because if it weren’t, these things would not be happening.





Paul tells us in Acts 17:22-31


24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.

26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and “the boundaries” of their dwellings,

What does this mean…. He has determined their pre-appointed times and their boundaries??

It means we don’t have to fear…

I know... and there are times where I feel peace of mind and comfort in my heart, because I know that God is and always will be in control. But ever since I was a little girl, I have always been afraid of death. I'm only 23 years old and I'm still afraid of dying. The unknown of when I will go, how I will go and if I will feel pain while I'm passing; it just scares me more than words can explain. So to think of everything bad that will happen during the end times, needless to say, keeps me up at night. And then I think of my son. What will happen to him? He's only two years old! My mind tends to escape me, when my real focus should clearly be on God. Not on the tribulation... I just don't really know how to control my fear.

I should probably just stay away from the end times forum, lol. [&:]

My heart goes out to you! When I was young...I could never really "get into" these types of conversations...I was NOT ready for Christ to come again--I wasnted to "live" some first! Death certainly was a frightening prospect.

The very first time I prayed "come QUICKLY Lord Jesus" was after I had my first born. I was 21, and she was SO vulnerable....so innocent...and this world was getting more and more evil by the moment.

Monday night Sept. 10, 2001 I was at a Wycliff meeting...it was so encouraging to hear of all the progress they were making reaching people groups with the Gospel....and then the next morning happened. It was shocking....I was at my Mother's...my two eldest in school, my three year old son hurried into the living room and given several toys so that we could watch the news channels in the family room and not have him see those images.

My Mom asked several times retorically through her tears--"Who? Who would do this?" I knew. It was vaguely surprising to hear my own voice calmly replying, "The Arabs Mom." I also was quite certain (at 9:30 am on 9/11 that laws would be inacted soon that would eventually be used against Christians.

Until that day...I had always been dumbfounded/amazed at the description of the death of the Two Witnesses in Revelation 11

Then I saw images of how the Muslims celebrated the towers fall...how they danced in the streets--and worse, how our own media covered it up...check the web now--there are fewer and fewer sites commemorating that horrible celebrating.

Scripture, once again is infinitly TRUE. six, seven years ago, I too went through an awakening as to how close we are to His return--and I don't see that as a negative thing...when someone becomes sensitized to prophecy being fulfilled--we ARE in "end times" He IS coming SOON...just not tomorrow...or Monday, or even in the next ten years--perhaps not in the next twenty...how can I know? Scripture.

Scripture tells us we'll enter a world government where it will be POSSIBLE to actually control who buys and who sells (written at a time when bartering was infinitely more easy than it would be today) We are there. Scripture tells us there will be a people who actually behead people for testifying to Jesus' deity--when that was by no means even the average cause of death for Christian martyrs. Scripture tells us that Israel and Judah will be united Jer. 3:18, Jer. 31, it will not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever." Ez. 37:22b "and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms."

Yep, we're there...BUT remember too that when the invading army descends out of the North and attacks Israel--it will be attacking a land used to PEACE!

Up until that mention of the people living securely--it sure sounds like what we've seen fulfilled so far! This is how I know that Armageddon isn't going to happen anytime soon. Israel is no where NEAR peaceful...but it exists! It's settled by people from all the nations, and it's surrounded by people who dance in the streets celebrating death...people who have a penchant for leaving corpses in the streets for days....people who delight in beheading.

Very interesting food for thought. I think everyone should be appreciative of what we have here in the U.S., and I also believe that this day is coming very soon!

Bless you Jordan for being smoke-free. I quit back on August 17, 2007. I will pray that God will completely deliver you from this Jordan. I know this is the wrong forum, but please pray for me and anyone else who has given in to the bondage of marijuana (or any other drug), pornography, and any other lust of the flesh. I diligently look for the return of our Lord Jesus, but I fear that my inability to stop giving in to these sins will bring great shame on that Day. Please pray for ALL believers and those who do not yet believe, that the Lord will have mercey on us.
