Like with your friends from work or whatever? I know it sounds like a pretty dumb question but I'm honestly new to this. I've had extremely bad social anxiety disorder (no I don't have an account there, retarded idea, but it explains what it is well) since middle school and depression problems which has kept me somewhat under a rock for all these years. But I'm really trying to work around it and I am feeling much more comfortable around people at work. I don't really see me ever changing or feeling happy if I don't spread my wings a little bit. Just the thing is no one at work is really a Christian and I hardly "feel" like on much of the time. Anyway, at work it seems to be getting smashed or going to the casino or something. And while I don't really have a problem with Casinos, I don't want to be a bad influence for someone who doesn't know when to quit.
On the other hand I'm pretty tired of the nice boy image who never does anything wrong so the invitations to bars and stuff have been tempting but anyway...
Anyway, what do you guys do on weekends and after work or whatever? I'm bored stiff and I think it would help with depression and feeling a little bit more comfortable with myself and if I was able to get out a little bit more.

I used to be socialy challenged and depressed for many years, I know that its hard at times when everyone around you seems to be enjoying life and there you are feeling so down in life, but praying and leaning on God is what helped me out of my depression, also I started to go to events and things with my sunday school class, I understand wanting to get out and spread your wings a bit, which is good thing but do you go to church? Do you go to sunday school class? if not I recommend that you get involved with a church its great place to start to socialize, and has many ecouraging people.
I dont work in office or around many others, but I can tell you their is nothing wrong with being the "nice boy" "the good good" We as christains are set apart from this world and for that we will ,disliked or hated for, things want be easy, because we are not like everyone else and that will make it hard sometimes, but we have God to lean on when things get tough, He will never gives more then we can handle, and he is there for us if we just talk to Him. So when feeling tempted to go to a bar or casino pray to God.

I use to paintball a lot.
Play flag football.
Go boating.
etc
I had found a group of guys that just like to do something physical every weekend.
Nowadays, now that I have moved away, I just go out for coffee or something if I am lucky.

- ride my mountain bike
-play video games
- read
- take pictures
-watch tv and all that
-eh idk ... I am not normal
I just hang with my sweetie all weekend...and whatever adventure we got our selfs in... I dont really have any other friends.
Well just pray before ya go and let God take all that worry away and go try out a church, I dont think any of them will bite *shrugs*

HA!!! Ditto. People should be glad we're separated by a few states, Randy. We'd probably be in padded cells...
Seriously, I think my number-one fun thing to do is concerts. I can't get enough of them. Christian concerts are just as fun (if not more so) than secular concerts. You can mosh it up if you feel like it and you don't have to feel bad later about doing something you regret-- well, you could if you broke from the atmosphere. But it's awesome.

Girls can't like baseball. That would make them the most attractive females on the earth.
But Christians can have fun in numerous ways! bowlings, hanging out at parks, playing music, going to the mall, movies, etc.
(not that I am the one who should give advice on this...)

You could do anything that doesn't disagree with morality.... I mean seriously, we aren't "nice little boys and girls". We're real human beings like the rest of the population of earth, we just know what's right and what's wrong, and know how to live with out the crutches of sinful indulgence.
Following Christ isn't meant to enclose us in tiny boxes, we're actually suppose to expand :P
That silly image is what drives people away, because for some reason some people think that Christians are suppose to be proper, perfect little holy people.

i do anything i like.
ill go to bars but i wont drink, and in the very rare case that i do not really too much.
i dont smoke, i dont go around hitting on girls... well not much.
i wont do drugs
clubs i wont go cause i dont like the music, or dancing or the atmosphere.
basically most people like me usually even if i dont do most of the stuff they do.
as for going to casinos, thats just weird hahaha. ive never met a group of people that most of them liked the casino so much.

i just do whatever pops into my head. read, come on here, walk anywheres, throw rocks, peel wallpaper, etc etc.
i don't have a normal set of things i do every day for fun.

I've tried a number of times but I get too anxious or sick walking down there and I don't have anyone to go with so... if I was with someone it would be different but anyway. But like I said most at work aren't really Christians. The only one I know around my shift that is one annoys me to no end. He's 50, just likes to eat, and he gets quite patronizing and hypocritical so I politely turn down his numerous offers to go to church with him.
