Eliana, congrats - hope we're reading about your beautiful baby's stats really soon!

PrincessDonna -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 8:57:04 AM)

Eliana's husband PMed me to let us know that the baby is here! Sounds like both she and baby are doing well.

Here are some bare facts:
At 2008-04-17 22:12+02 Eliana gave birth to a baby boy.
That is Thursday 17th April 22:12 CET (UTC+2)
He weighed 3695 grams just after birth and was 51cm long.

Translated to US standard measurements...just over 8 pounds and 20 inches long. I'm not even going to attempt to convert the time to what time it was here.[;)]

[:D]Congrats, Eliana and hubby!!! Welcome, Little Guy![:D]

KatMack -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 9:15:43 AM)

I'm lousy with all the time stuff. Someone needs to convert it so we know who was first, Hjalmar or Evie!

Congrats! Welcome, Hjalmar!!!

PrincessDonna -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 9:17:40 AM)

Well, Eliana's baby was born on the 17th and Evie on the 18th, but I suppose Evie could have actually been born first. I'll leave that for someone else to figure out though. Oh Sarah...you must be good with timezones...have at it?

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 9:20:22 AM)

donna..I am not sure which time zone she is in, but when we lived in Germany we were six hours ahead of you on the east coast.....I think she is probably five hours ahead of you (we lived right on a time line change and I think where she lives is a bit further into the previous time section).

oh yeah...YAY YAY YAY !!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!

(Donna...I thought she said before that they were not telling the name online?)

Royal.Fortress -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 9:25:49 AM)

Congratulations, Eliana and hubby!!! Welcome to the world, little Hjalmar! What a beautiful name!

Okay, so that means...it was about 5 pm here then? Did I figure that right?

Can you show me a post that says that? Her husband didn't say anything of the sort.[&:]

yup on the time.....and HERE is that post......she said.....
quote:

I love reading baby name talk!!!!

But I've never posted the name we've chosen for our son because it's SOOOOOO rare that anyone I know IRL who googled it later on would probably find my post on this thread! It's a Scandinavian name that's very uncommon these days, though it was popular at the end of the 1800s. When we checked the statistics, there are just 641 people in the whole country with the name (as first or middle), compared with 44,000 with the name Bjørn, for example. When we did our search of this name with our surname, there's no one else in the whole country who's named that.

And since his middle name is a Swahili one, that will give this little guy a very, very rare name indeed. I think when he's born I might pluck up the courage to post his first name...we'll see. I'm just very conscious about info online.

firefightermama -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 9:53:25 AM)

By my calculations, they would be 6 hours ahead of EST here in North America, so the birth time would be April 17th, 4:12pm EST (I think)

Congrats Eliana!!!!!!! A big Welcome to your little one, congratulations on your new family! [sm=dance.gif]

edited to change my time calculations [;)]

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 9:56:47 AM)

according to Google...the time diff is adding six hours to NY time.....so if the baby was born Thursday 17th April 16:12...which translates to being (EST) 4:12pm
however, I don't know if they factor in the time change and if where she lives goes by that or not.....so Yolanda could be right.

manda59 -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 10:09:42 AM)

You might find this helps!

The World Time Server

Norway is an hour ahead of us in the UK, and is 6 hours ahead of EST. So Eliana's baby boy was definitely born at 16.12 EST on the 17th (whereas Emily's baby girl was born at 1.00 EST on the 18th).

So Eliana "won" the poll! (and I voted for her [;)]

lilyofthefield -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 10:15:59 AM)

You had to rub it in, Manda! LOL [:D]

Congratulations Eliana and family! Welcome to the world, Hjalmar!!

I think you will find that the "j" is pronounced as a "y" (kind of like a short yer) so to say Hj together means you have to merge the h and the y together. Is that clear? [;)][:D]

Do you know the word "fjord"? If so, that should tell you how to pronounce the j. [8|][;)]

lilyofthefield -> RE: Eliana's baby cheering/stalking thread (4/18/2008 10:29:26 AM)
