kkunker -> Christcom.net domain (4/14/2008 5:27:19 PM)

I've been using the christcom.net domain for my e-mail for 12 years. For some reason the working relationship with usinet was not updated so without warning I lost access to several weeks of email and will need to migrate to a new e-mail domain.

Anyone know any of the history on this matter? Anyway for the powers that be to renegotiate the working relationship?

Not feeling all that peachy over the matter.

What was the link to the email login?

I to am wondering (disturbed)about the christcom.net being turned off for those of us that have been using it for e-mail for the last 12 years .
A little history....
I signed up for dial-up internet service with DIDAX at Promise Keepers 1996 . I was also told that a portion of the monthly charge was going to support Promise Keepers . DIDAX (christcom.net) was sold to Crosswalk.com which seems to be now under Salem Communications.
AT&T provided the internet service connection and credit card billing.
So for 12 years I have been using w2gio@christcom.net for my email.
I noticed when I searched Google for Christcom.net that there was 547 references of people and organizations using christcom.net for business or email. So I am asking the same question what happened to christcom.net ??? And when will it be turned on again so I can get my email . Is Promise keepers still being supported by my monthly internet charges? Hope you folks have an answer or can direct us to someone that can fix this problem.
Here is some info on DIDAX and crosswalk connection.

I still need this question answered.

HOW did you login to get your email?

Was this a web-based email that you were using? If so, what was the link you went to in order to sign into your email?

I'm going to look into this further.

When I have more information I'll post it.

Until then I'm going to close this thread.

Please direct any further questions, comments, or concerns to community@salemwebnetwork.com

Hello there,

I've completed looking into the matter and have found that the christcom.net email addresses were set up before we purchased the domain from AMEN.

AMEN had decided to discontinue the email service which they were providing through the third party Lycos prior to our purchase of Crosswalk.com. At that time, AMEN notified all the email users that they would be discontinuing the email service. (This would have been sometime between 200l and 2002) For whatever reason the company providing the email service continued to provide it even though there was no contract to do so.

The "extensive e-mail operations" listed in the press release was a reference to the email newsletters that we purchased from AMEN with our acquisition of Crosswalk.com it was not a reference to an email provider service.

In any case we no longer own the christcom.net domain. You might try contacting the owner through a WHOIS search and inquire about them selling you the domain so you can continue the email service with preserv.net.

You may also want to consider setting up a different online email service like Google, Yahoo, or MSN.

I wish you the best in your endeavors.
