My dad was a Jr. and refused to give his name to my brother for fear he'd be called "the turd."

LOL I have known a few III who went by Trip.

Would a IV go by Quad or Trip JR? [&:]

I knew a III that went by Trey, I did not get it at first[&:]LOL

I used to work with a Trey at the job I had at a restaurant while in high school, if I recall right I usually wanted to whack Trey with a tray. [&:][:D][:D][:D]

Names can be like looks, they kind of grow on you.
I've heard stories more than once about people who really weren't all that crazy about their SO's looks when they first met them, but as they got to know them better they grew to love them, and then began to think they were very good-looking.

A lot of teachers have mental lists of names that they refuse to name their own children. The names have been firmly attach to those "extra challenging" students.

J3jamie -> RE: Dislike their name? (4/16/2008 1:19:06 PM)

My Xhusband was a third. We fought over a boy's name. He wanted a fourth. I told him we are lower middle class not royalty. I am so glad I had a girl.

CoeurdeLeon_ -> RE: Dislike their name? (4/16/2008 1:21:30 PM)

I know a girl named 'Erin' who married a man named 'Aaron'.

I have this issue with men named James or Jim. I hate the thought of having it too cute that we would be James and Jamie or Jim and Jamie or even worse yet: Jamie and Jamie.

I blame my mother for this. LOL

.
.
.
....... I find this ironic.... check out how close these names are to your handle!! [8D]

I have the same issue with this name....

....... except thanks to my ex.
.... who also named my youngest daughter's middle name
a name that I totally dislike!!
POOR CHILD.

Does she live near a golf course? If she was the oldest child she'd be the third green!

A number of years ago I was when I was working on office equipment I remember hearing a woman in an office talking to someone on the phone about getting a loan approved only the person on the other end kept hanging up on her b/c she thought it was a crank call. The reason they thought it was a crank call was b/c the woman who was somehow involved with the loan was named Ada Nutt. [:D]

graceingod1 -> RE: Dislike their name? (4/16/2008 5:58:17 PM)

No, those things dont bother me. Unless they were named after someone famous, that would be a chuckle.

At school - about eighty years ago - my mother knew an Ima Hogg. Mom shuddered every time she mentioned her.

broyce1981 -> RE: Dislike their name? (4/16/2008 6:12:55 PM)

I know a married couple who are Erin and Arin as well. So frustrating talking to them sometimes! But yeah, I think I am biased against any bad ex's names. But if they're good enough they can overcome my bias! [:)]

Now I'm wondering if women just don't like my name. Maybe that is my problem!
