Well we can all change Glory to God. I wish he could have embraced Jesus, what, a wonderful thing that could have done, for all of us.[:)] quote:

ORIGINAL: lightshineon Well Ken, I am humble enough to admit I do not know it all, so I will look into your book.[:)] I know that from things I have read before, watched, he was very intense on hate, but, thanks for the information, and I will look into it.[:)] BtW that does not mean I do not know anything. (LOL) IF that is true about Malcom than, gooodness a pagan, knew the truth more than some of us Christians as far as unity between the races. What a shame that is. And, another thing EV Hill was a true loving man of God. quote:

ORIGINAL: lightshineon I entioned that, but, malcom was evil, and EV Hill, I felt like was my best friend, when he died I grieved so. He was a good man. not to change the conversation of the thread, but I just wanted to respond to this. Here is a little history on Malcolm X. Yes in the beginning he was a radical who spoke harshly against white America. Heck, white people period. Anyway, this was done during his time under the racist teachings of Elijah Mohammad and his active role as a very visible member of the Nation of Islam. Well, all that change when he made his pilgrimage from Medina to Mecca and he saw black, white, and of course middle eastern Muslims all worshipping Allah in peace and unity. There was no racial division and no segregation. Color meant nothing over there. In the past he demonized the entire white race, but during his pilgrimage he discovered that there were white Muslims who worship Allah just like him. White people he could embrace as a brother in the faith and a brother in humanity. When he came back to America, his whole mindset changed as it relates to white people. He ended up leaving the Nation of Islam (he actually left before the pilgrimage) and in the end it cost him his life. In the beginning, Malcolm X was more or less a radical version of Martin Luther King. Both wanted the same goal of black liberation, but different ideas on how to obtain it. Martin was accomplishing this in a peaceful manner, and Malcolm was “By any means Necessary” in wanting to return the same type of hostility toward us back onto the oppressors of that time. After experiencing worshipping in peace with Muslims of all colors (blond hair, blue eyes whites included) he changed and saw the reality that we could coexist together despite color. I’m not subscribing to Islam because I’m against their beliefs, but I wanted to set the record straight before we start labeling him as evil. Without a historical context such labeling is reckless. I know no one here would read it, but his autobiography is a great read. Lightshineon, this is nothing against you because honestly, a lot of people (including some African Americans) just don’t know this tidbit of African American history. Ok guys carry on. [:)] I once read that he went through 3 stages of his life. Malcolm Little: the small time criminal and drug addict Malcolm X: the face of the NOI that preached resolving segregation by means of racial hatred and violence toward the oppressors of the time Malik El- Shabazz: preacher of racial unity and equality. Malcolm X is what everyone remembers most. Believe me, I use to wear the T-Shirt of him at the window, shotgun in hand with, "By Any Means Necessary" written at the bottom. After I read his autobiography and read numerous articles about him, I put that shirt away. His story and evolution is fascinating.
