ORIGINAL: WalkingwithHim2 btw I miss your old avy of Schroeder ... it took me a while to realize that it was you posting! Sometimes that avatar gave an attitude to my posts that wasn't really supposed to be there...so I changed it out to the welcome sign on my front door.

THIS is a picture I wanted to use, but I could not do so. I couldn't get it to shrink to avatar size without losing part of the picture.

James all these photos bring back a lot of memories. I was very familiar with the predecessor to the Apache. It was first introduced in the late 60's early 70's as the Cobra. They are magnificent birds.

I wish the Army had gotten the Super Cobra instead of the Apache. Oh well.. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

I remember being so excited when I found out there was a plane nicknamed The Connie! I thought they named it after me. Because of course....everything is about me!

Oh well.. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Goodness, James! I'm surprised to hear that from one so young! I thought that was an older expression! (I've often said the beginning of it . . . "If wishes were horses . . ." and had people just look at me like I was crazy and have no idea what it meant or what the rest of it was.)

My grandmother used a lot of these expressions, so I learned them well.
