I'm still trying to convince my parents to see it. My mom says she thinks it would be "too much", but I know it would be life changing for them - especially my mom. She is very religious, but I'm not sure how much she really grasps who God is and how great His love is. That's what I got out of the movie the most: God's overwhelming love for us. It's one thing to know it in your head intellectually - it's quite another to see it played out right in front of you (even if it's "just a movie").

I agree...I was so overwhelmed in the theater, that I couldn't even make it out of the building before I could get myself together.

MY sin cost a great deal. And, I think if every Christian visually saw a glimpse of the cost of their own sin, they'd live their lives very differently or at least attempt to.

Amen!

I went to see it by myself. And I'm really glad I did. I did not want to talk afterward, I just wanted to think and thank God.

I'm thinking a good discussion of a Bruce Willis movie would be a good thing... Maybe Die Hard...

I loved Die Hard! I haven't seen any of the sequels, but I loved the original.

I always think of Roy Rogers when I think of Die Hard. That's what the cop called Bruce Willis' character. Isn't Roy a great name? Come to think of it, I don't know any Roys. Does anybody know any Roys?

You know...I don't know any Roys...except Roy D. Mercer...*giggle*

I liked the last Die Hard as well. Thing 2 loooves that movie.

"You just threw a car at that helicopter!" "I know...I ran out of bullets."

and Thing 2's favourite..."Yippee Kiyea!!!!" (no...I can't spell it)

We could discuss war movies... My all time fave is "The Great Escape". However, I will admit to getting pretty choked up when "The Forger" was killed...

It was alrght - my husband loved it. I was thinking more like Jet Li's One or War.

We just watched Forbidden Kingdom that was pretty cool, reminiscent of Karate Kid.

Okay, war movies. The first that comes to mind, and my favorite, is "Escape of the Birdmen". Let's see. Doug McClure, Chuck Connor, Rene Auberjonois. Maybe I didn't spell that last name right. Anybody see that?

I liked "Stalag 17" too. Or was it 19? Or was one of them the number of Hogan's Heroes' stalag?

300

I heard the sound of blood splattering in my sleep after that one.

King Leonidas had a Scots accent which was kind of incongruous but he was awesome to look at.

The movie was Stalag 17 and Hogan's Heroes was loosely based on it. In Hogan's Heroes - they were in Stalag 13. It's one of my favorite shows!

It's just the winding it back on the roll that's a bit of a problem.
