Christianiron.com -> Newbie to the group (4/16/2008 2:51:07 PM)

Wow,
Its encouraging to see so many Christians on here into fitness.
I am a 48 year old competetive powerlifter and have been training in one way or another since I was a teen. I am going to take a test for personal fitness traner cert in a couple weeks.
I recently put together a fitness oriented website from the Christian point of view. Please stop by, check it out, sign my guestbook.
the URL is http://Christianiron.com.
I'm looking forward to being a reader and contributor on this forum!
Dave

I checked out your site - love the idea. But I'll have to look at all your info later. I started a thread up above about lifting; you might've always checked it, I'm headed there next. I doubt you guys want to hear about my pressing my 12# dumbells! But I welcome any and all advice and input on what I'm doing. I'm trying to get serious again. The last several months to a year I got really lazy and lost a lot of ground.

What test are you taking for personal training? I'm AFAA certified to teach group fitness and yoga...unfortunately I don't think I'm very good at it. I'd love to get certified to do personal training, I think I'd be much better one on one. And I get frustrated sometimes with the ineffective things we teach in group fitness - seeing all those ladies getting nowhere taking the same step and "toning" classes year after year. I'd love to help people see the big picture and break out of that. I think I'd also be frustrated with people who maybe don't want to work as hard as I do, though, too. The AFAA test isn't easy, though.

Nice to meet 'ya!
Cynthia
