http://3trillion.org/ This site has an anti-Iraq war bent to it, but I still found this fun to do and play around with. It does make one think a little though.

I'd spend a trillion nuking all of the bad countries of the world once and for all to obliterate them. I'd put 1 trillion in my pocket for services rendered. Then I'd put 1 trillion back in the treasury and praise the American people for their hard work in making 3 trillion for me then get them to laud me for all that I put back. : )

You just put the whole subject of political science in a nutshell!

Well, a lot of that has gone to paying troop salaries so their families can eat, who would have been paid anyway, and developing new technology, which would have needed to be developed anyway (you would be amazed at how much stuff developed by the military sector bleeds over to the private sector. I work in GPS technology, there's a big one). But, if I had a trillion dollars... I would pay off my house, put a few thousand in the bank, and then sponsor a few thousand Compassion kids, I think. We have two right now and it's a wonderful program.

3 trillion dollars...well first I would... buy out all the liberals and send them to Canada. well...I would shop my tithe around...I am sure I would be a popular church member. Buy out Krispie Kremes...hey I do go to a baptist church. Put up my double wide with a 4 stall garage, golf club making shop with a '65 Mustang 2+2 out front. Give my kids scholarships to foreign colleges and...boot them OUT. Fill up my gas tank. Take a vacation to Alaska...I mean I live in Florida...why go where its warm? Take my pastor out to lunch.....Burger King has a good lunch deal. Buy everyone on Crosswalk Forums a " SonInMe, Ya Gotta Luv 'im " t-shirt.

The first thing I'd do would be to sink 30 billion dollars into my denomination. I couldn't give that much to my local church--they wouldn't know what to do with it any more than I would. Some of the $30 bill would go to my local church; I'd at least pay off it's half a million dollar debt. Actually, since the denomination to which I am a member is somewhat small, $30 billion might be a little much for them, too. I'd have to do what another poster said and "shop my tithe around." But it would all be given. Next I'd pay whatever taxes the government wanted on it so they wouldn't come after me for it. That might be as much as half of it-- $1.5 trillion dollars. Let's see. That leaves about $1,470,000,000 to pay off all my debts, and all the debts of my family members, send my son this fall to Taylor University, the Christian college to which he has applied and been accepted, but can't go because we can't afford it, pay my other two children's tuition to their Christian school I've been working so they can attend--all the way through to the youngest one's graduation in 2013, sent them wherever they want to go to college, send my niece to college if she wants to go, or pay for her to be trained for whatever career she may want, fix my house up so it can be sold, rented out, or given away to some deserving family, buy a new house in a nicer neighborhood or build one, perhaps in the country where I could have animals. I'd particularly like to have a donkey. I'd name it Puzzle for the one in C.S. Lewis' The Last Battle , the last of the Narnia books. I'd buy a new car for my husband and one for my son who is going to college this fall, and enroll my daughter in driver's ed. My car is perfectly fine but maybe I'd get a new one anyway. I'd get my kids music lessons and take trumpet lessons myself. And I'm running out of things to spend the money on. I doubt I'm anywhere near getting it used up. I guess I'd give some more away to various missions and to Christian colleges and Christian schools, and then put some in the bank to save for retirement. I don't think I'd quit work just yet. I am working at a job I have quit twice. I told my supervisor that what made me quit before didn't exist anymore and if she hired me back I wouldn't quit again. I wouldn't want having a gazillion dollars to make a liar out of me. I don't think individuals or individual families were meant to have so much money all at once. It creates a lot of problems. Even in my daydreams about it I've had more thoughts of how to use the money to please me and mine and even my less selfish thoughts were about helping out people and causes I personally care about. This has been enormously fun but I think the $3 trillion dollars was best spent exactly where it was spent.

First, I would give God 10%; breaking it down between the Ministries I’ve supported, and the ones I’ve wanted to support, since the 70’s; those that have proven to me they’re trustworthy and good & wise stewards over the years. Second, I’d render unto Caesar [Fed. & State Governments] that which is Caesar’s (Taxes). Third, I’d see to the ‘needs’ of me and mine. Fourth, I’d buy a Copy of The Original 1936 Movie; A Gary Cooper film; ‘Mr. Deeds Goes to Town’; and play it every morning after devotions, before starting my day. Because I’d feel much like a female version of Mr Deeds: Mr. Deeds Goes to Town is essentially the story of a small town boy (Gary Cooper) who inherits a fortune and then decides to give it away to the poor. Longfellow Deeds (Cooper) lives in the small town of Mandrake Falls where he makes a living writing greeting card poems and spends his free time playing the tuba. He is less than enthused when a bunch of big city attorneys show up at his door to tell him he has just inherited 20 million dollars from a relative he never met. Deeds is honest and good but no pushover and his initial reluctance about the situation proves wise as everyone wants to mooch off of Deeds and make a fool of him at the same time. Deeds gives as good as he gets A starving farmer breaks into his home and gives Deeds an idea. It is the depression and Deeds' plan to give those down and out a chance to fend for themselves and get back on their feet will take every penny he has, which is just what he wants. Last but not least, Like Longfellow Deeds, I’d give small farms, plots of land and homes, to needy families, and devise a dispensement plan --- giving the money away to those willing to work at fending for themselves and getting back on their feet --- those who need it most.

ORIGINAL: kernsfamily how much would it cost us to fight WWII all over again? Over 400,000 dead US soldiers. 72 million dead worldwide (soldiers and civilians). But what's human life worth when there is an ideological war to win. Keeps our minds off domestic issues like the crummy economy. WWII was fought against an enemy that physically invaded its neighbors and systematically exterminated 6 million people just for their ethnicity. Apples and oranges. The biggest state sponsors of terrorism in the world today are Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran and this current administration is buddy, buddy with the first two. What ever happened to his "axis of evil" anyway?

I'm such a doofus! : ( The Clinton administration in 1998/1999 documented ties between Saddam and Al-Queda...but, that soon became an "inconvenient truth".... saddam was a menace, as he repeatedly attempted to shoot down our planes, as we were trying to keep an eye on him saddam entirely ignored 17+ UN resolutions, which, most, if not all, threatened to remove him from power....(but, no one had the political will to go in there after him) of course, the european countries didn't want to remove him, because they were illegally profiting from some UN program designed to help the people of Iraq, which really wasn't doing any good...cause the europeans and saddam were pilfering most of it. oh, didn't mention saddam's slaughter of hundreds of thousands....if not millions....of his own people...(something that the "Free Tibet" and "Darfur/Sudan" crowd have conveniently forgotten about)... And, "mission accomplished" had to do with the "OUSTING" of the Saddam regime.....no reference whatsoever to "complete victory"....

The truth is we sorted out over 600,000 documents from the former regime and 0 mentioned anything about an Iraq and AQ link. This argument about a link the Administration made was so thoroughly rebutted by the data we recovered it was pulled from the public accessible web sight and you now have to order the disk of the info. On the oil for food and the planes I concur with you actually.
