Tattoos and piercings were not really an issue when my daughter was younger. However, now recently...she got her belly button pierced and she has two holes in each ear, but that's it for piercings. She got a wrap-around tattoo on her ankle depicting a green tree frog on a vine. She also got a "tramp stamp" on her middle back (not lower) that is a filligre pattern something-or-other with her kids names all in it. I think she has another one, but I can't remember. The only thing she said that she's not interested in doing is getting facial piercings.

Thnx. quote:

ORIGINAL: faroukfarouk So when was it that you caught the 'urge' to get more tattoos, did you at first think that you would 'dare' to get just one? and was it the faith related thing that urged you on, maybe? I got my first tattoo as I was approaching 30 and it was a design I had drawn about three years prior. Faith had zero to do with it So are any of your tats faith related? quote:
I just kept getting them after that. I've had six over the past ten years or so and three are quite large--one stretches from shoulder to shoulder across the top of my back, one covers the entire lower back area and one covers my entire lower left leg. I figure if you're going to get tattooed--GET TATTOOED! I see, ma'm, so maybe your attitude is, you might as well go for it wholeheartedly and thoroughly.

None of my tattoos are faith-related. I'm not opposed to getting one, I just don't happen to have one. quote:
ORIGINAL: faroukfarouk I see, ma'm, so maybe your attitude is, you might as well go for it wholeheartedly and thoroughly. Pretty much. A lot of people say, "I want a tattoo. Something small." They end up getting a quarter-sized flower or some such nonsense (flash off the wall) and often they're sorry they didn't get something bigger that they can enjoy. (Or something on an area of the body they can actually see, if they put it somewhere weird, like a shoulder blade.) When you have a bunch of tattoos all over the place that are small and unrelated, those are known as "refrigerator magnet" tattoos. Because it's just random. I know a lot of people with such that end up getting them covered up because they...mature...or something into wanting really nice, big work. Now doink, you seem like the kind of person to have a few tattoos.

Thnx. But don't you think that many over 40s who might consider a tat are reluctant to go for a big one? The faith related thing does push ppl who are a bit more mature into getting one maybe but they are often a bit kind of 'genteel', at first, if they are not used to it. (My ink faded, lol)

I actually think most people are reluctant to get a large tattoo at first.

ORIGINAL: doinkdom it just wasn't something that was available locally until recently Well, since it IS now available locally, like you say, I guess it's a case of figuring whether you really want to find out (they won't do a hard sell, it's not professional) a bit more. Take care.

I saw this tattoo a while back and admit that it peaked my interest a bit more than just admiration. John 15:13 Unfortunately, since then I've seen it half a dozen times

Well I think you're now being very honest about how you were feeling that it was more than admiration that you were experiencing. It was possibly the actual beginning of a real faith related conviction to participate in such inking, right?

[/size] Nah...I just thought it was cool is all and that if I had seen it 20 years ago...I may have considered it then. Also, it would be one that I would recommend to someone looking for one.

Also, it would be one that I would recommend to someone looking for one. So have you ever recommended a tattoo design to anyone yet? Take care.

I think we should have some linked pictures of everyone with ink, so those of us living vicariously through them can enjoy the artwork from afar.
