Beck34 -> What is your favorite memory? (4/18/2008 11:32:34 PM)

I have had problems with my memory for years, but the older I get, the more I remember....
My favorite memory is the memory of my mother sewing me this beautiful butterfly costume for a play that I was to be in at school. It was decorated like a monarch butterfly, and she painstakingly quilted the wings.
I never will forget the day I put it on. Even now, it brings a smile to my face to think of the love she put into that costume.
What about you? Do you have a memory like that?

I think that I would have to say, my favorite memories are family time. I loved so much to hang out with my parents and siblings -- sitting around, laughing, joking and just having a good old time. Those were the best times! [:D]

I know! I think we sometimes forget about that when things get hard. I guess that is why God led me to bring it up.
Another great memory I have is of my dad. It is the most re-neck thing you have probably ever heard.
When we moved into my grandmother's house after she died, the plumbing was piped outside because she did not have a septic tank. One night, my dad went in to do his usual bathroom buisness when he discovered a water snake in the toilet. He let out a yell and took off for his bedroom. He came roaring back into the bathroom with a gun full of buck shot. He then proceeded to shoot the toilet. He got the snake, but he blew up the toilet in the process.
Needless to say, the plumber and the septic tank man were there the next day, but every time I remember that, it brings a smile to my face, and I have to laugh.

I just remember times as a kid having no worries, not think about dying and what life is about. Just living care free and just excited about each coming day. Those are the good days.

They were, and don't you miss that sometimes? Things were so much simpler back then, and yet, I find myself back in that place. I find myself reliving those days as my memory of my past becomes clearer. Granted, there were some aweful memories hidden that have begun to surface, but I wouldn't trade one minute of the pain because now I see that it has led me to a good place in my life.

Yeah I totally agree. Life seems so much harder now than it was 10 years ago, but it's all in God's hands.

My favorite memories are those I make everyday with the ones I love.

My grandfather teaching me bicycle repaire, my uncle throwing me on his shoulders while skating on a pond, my dad and me building a Baa Baa Black Sheep Coursair model. My brother and I taking my dads trains and running them so eventually they would crash at the innersection.
the adventures with my Gi-Joe Sea Adventurer(with hard hands). And My daughter-when she was 2 1/2 years old at a week long vac. at disney world. the first day at disney boardwalk we went to a photo place that had picts with mickey. So I took her just to see mickey and to see howed she react to the characters. Her look was like what our look will be when we see the Lord for the first time, Then a couple of days latter on the buss back to the resort she broke out in song (jessica andrews - rosemaries grandaughter) entertaining every tired soul on that buss.
that was nov. 2000

The first concert I went to with my best friend. I can't even begin to describe how fun that was. We've been to tons since then, but you just can't relive something like that.

Probably the day I locked my brothers keys in the car...while it was running. It wasn't funny at the time but I can't tell that story now without bursting out with the giggles.

Just remembering him freaking out as he called my dad to explain what had happened....*snigger*
