Ephesians4_32 -> RE: Why Pray?...God decides EVERYTHING (4/29/2008 12:43:20 AM)

I, too, believe that God is Sovereign. Nevertheless, prayer is commanded and answers to prayer appear to be conditional. Exodus 22:23, 27 1 Kings 3:5 2 Chronicles 7:14 Psalm 37:4 Isaiah 55:6 Joel 2:32 Ezekiel 36:37 Numbers 6:23 Job 42:8 Isaiah 62:6 Psalm 122:6 1 Timothy 2:1 James 5:14 Hebrews 10:22 Matthew 7:7,8; 21:22 Mark 11:24 John 14:13,14, 16:23,24; 15:16 Ephesians 2:18; 5:20 Colossians 3:17 1 Peter 2:5 Genesis 24:10-20 Genesis 32:24-30; 33:1-4 Judges 15:18-20 2 Samuel 15:31; 16:20-23; 17:14-23 Daniel 2:16-23 Nehemiah 1:11; 2:1-6 Esther 4:15-17; 6:7,8 Acts 12:1-12 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22) "But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." (James 1:6-8) "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." (James 4:3) "Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?" (Ezekiel 14:3) "Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that He will not hear." (Isaiah 59:1-2) "If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered." (Proverbs 21:13) "If you remain in me and my word remains in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you." (John 15:7) Those are some interesting verses, eh?
