In his upcoming biography of Jesus, "Basic Instinct" director Paul Verhoeven will make the shocking claim that Christ probably was the son of Mary and a Roman soldier who raped her during the Jewish uprising in Galilee, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Catholic League President Bill Donohue called Verhoeven's claim "laughable." "Here we go again with idle speculation grounded in absolutely nothing," Donohue told FOXNews.com. It's not exactly a new claim. There have been accusations of that in religious Jewish writings for centuries. The nickname a lot of religious Jews use even today for Jesus is actually a Hebrew acronym that accuses Him of having been a b-----d child. My Hebrew professor in Bible institute warned us when we went to Israel that if you're talking to an Orthodox Jew and they ask you if you're a follower of "Yesu", the answer is "NO".

In the latter part of the piece it states he is a member of 'The Jesus Seminar'. If anyone is interested in knowing about this group and the Christian groups that have provided them with rebuttal's to their claims - let me know. My wife's old professor is a leading man in that organization.

Methinks they doth protest too much. There sure must be a lot of people threatened by Jesus these days to be putting out so many "theories" to prove He wasn't the Son of God.

more Jesus Seminar tripe. man, humanity's concept of 'fear of the Lord' just ain't what it used to be. the guy also directed 'Showgirls', which should tell you something about him. calling him Catholic is like calling Hitler a huggable humanitarian. last time i checked, Catholic doctrine required the belief in the Incarnation and Virgin Birth, not some product of an uholy violation. let's see, 20 years of research v 2000 years of Truth...

"Yesu", as I said in my post, is a acronym taken from a Hebrew phrase that calls Jesus a b-----d. Part of the point of the nickname is as a nasty joke on Christians who don't realize that there's a difference between the nickname "Y.E.S.U." and Jesus' Hebrew name "Y'shua".

They claim that Mary had relations (either consensual or not) with a Roman soldier from one of Rome's Germanic Legions who was stationed at the garrison in Cephoras, which was a mostly greco-roman city near Nazareth. I've always wondered if these clowns realize they're borrowing an idea from (horrors!!) a Jewish myth.

I see, though, that others have done the same thing, at times, with their pictures making Christ to be identifiable with regards to their own race, or tribe, and the mere appearances of the flesh which counts for nothing. For some of the tribes of Joseph, Ephraim and Mannaseh, were half egyptian and the tribe of one of the wives of Moses was another people; possibly Nubian. Some people want to believe anything, anything at all, as long as it means Jesus isn't God's Son. I have a friend who's philosophy prof insists that Mary was a temple prostitute and possibly bisexual and Jesus was a result of her shinanigans. My friend believes that. [8\|]

ahhh...but...can they disprove the hundreds of other Old Testament prophecies that Jesus fulfilled? Where He was born. Where He lived. How He was killed. The amount of money given to the traitor. There are many more.
