When you're done at Leah's Barb, you can stop here! I'm just the next state over.

No Barb, the mower isn't working. Poor hubby spent the whole evening on it. He took it apart, and I thought it was running better. He mowed a bit, it stopped, and wouldn't start again. I've never liked that mower; I want one of those old-fashioned push mowers. So now my lawn still isn't mowed, and I still don't have a clothesline.

Dee,
Sorry to hear the mower is'ent fixed yet. I got one of them OLD push type ones. It's in the shed...way in the back.
My husband just fixed my clothes line a couple weeks ago. Now that the tree was cut down, I did'ent have one for a few weeks.

Id love to come help you gals out with the cleanning jobs...but with gas soooo expensive, I'm not going anywhere.
Put $50 in the tank last week and it did'ent even fill her up
I got the garage nice and clean again. Now lets see how long it take's for my husband to mess it up

These days it costs me $75 to fill my tank. My kids use my vehicle and don't always put gas in it so it can go very quickly.

Gas is nearing $4 a gallon here and I heard on some news show that it's going to double that in the next two years. I wonder if there will be more buses, or what people will do?

Ours is $1.25/liter. there are just a bit less than 4 liters in a gallon, making our gas about $4.75/gallon and rising.

Guess our gas price is o.k. compared to everyone else's. It was only $3.40 a gallon when I filled up this morning, $28 to fill er up.

Barb, I echo Leah and Dee.....come on over to my house to clean. It's down the road a bit from Leah's house and we could get together for a group visit and girl's night out.

No job review yet. Guess it will be tomorrow as it was supposed to be done by today. Wonder what it will be like. The anxiety of waiting is beginning to get to me and it was really hard to work this afternoon. I went to Pandora online and put on country music to keep my mind occupied while I did my work. Needed the background noise.

My neighbor asked me to come over earlier today as he wants me to read from the bible when I visit. Today during quiet time I read about Elijah am thinking of reading that. It is a good story.

Oh Barb you would be proud of me. I got up at 4:30 am and cleaned in my kitchen and did a load of laundry plus had breakfast and quiet time this morning before I went to work.

And God has answered my prayers about my neighbor who is dying of cancer. I asked that she return to her regular mind and be able to die with mind intact. Since I began my visits her mind has gone back to normal and she is able to joke and understand communication.

For a while there her mind wasn't capable of coherent thought. I believe she enjoys the bible reading as much as her husband does.

Now did'ent that feel good to get all that accomplished this morning?
Would have loved to come visit everyone today. And help with the chores.

Gas is around $3.45 a gallon in my parts. But that's ENOUGH for me.
Guess we gotta get our bike's out and start useing them. Wonder if I even remember how to ride one? They say you never forget.

Ginny, that is AWESOME about your neighbour--both her return to coherency and her husband's desire to hear you read the Bible. wow!

Wow, Ginny . . as Maggie, said, that is awesome! God is really using you in that household.

BTW, gas is $3.47 here, and has been since Saturday when you were here.

Hi Marsha!

Dee, have you bought a mower yet? That would be aggravating. 'Course, not quite as aggravating as Barb's hubby tearing hers up, I guess . . . anyway, I hope he gets your clothesline up soon.

I have the room closer to ready to paint, but it's not quite there yet . . . Garrett didn't come this morning until nearly 10 this morning, but I had errands to run then. He left at 2:00 and I worked pretty steady up til supper time. Guess I'll go back there for a bit now.

I agree, that is awesome about your neighbor Ginny! It sounds like you are a huge blessing to her.

Gas prices, yuck. Hubby works 33 miles from home. I wish that there was someone he could carpool with. I also wish his bosses were more flexible with his hours to make that more feasible.

Hubby got the mower working tonight. Poor guy, he's so tired this week. I gave him some money and sent him to the store for a new spark plug because twice we've taken cars in and basically all they needed was spark plugs. But unfortunately that didn't fix it. He did get it fixed though; apparently a needle somewhere was stuck and wasn't allowing any gas to get where it needs to go. So the front lawn is now mowed. I'll probably take on the back tomorrow.

Maybe progress will be made on my clothesline now. It was a nice day today so I did 3 loads with my little drying rack on the deck.

Happy May 1st Everyone

Ginny,
I was gonna comment about your neighbor yesterday and plum forgot. That is awsome that she is able to understand and talk again! Do you read the Bible to her or her husband..or both of them? What a wonderful neighbor you are.

Dee, so glad your husband got the mower fixed for you. Not mabey he can get the clothes line put up.

Leah, glad to hear you got most of that room done.

Thinking about moveing my liveingroom furniture around today. The thing that concerns me is the large entertainment center. Not sure if I can manage it by myself or not. But knowing myself the way I do, I will give it a try anyways That old TV is heavy!
Last Nov. me and my daughter moved it on a different wall, and you can't see it from the kitchen area. It's been bugging me ever since. I like the TV front and center.

Called up my moms older sister last night. Wanted to ask her about a song my mom used to sing to my younger sister. She can't remember the tune, or the song itself. I sung what I can remember of it...it goes like this:
The angels are lighting Gods little candles
We call them stars, they are angels in the sky??

I have tryed searching for the song, and/or words, on the net, but can't find them.

We must all be busy today.

Got the TV all moved, and some of the furniture...just don't know where to go with everything now
Guess I just have to sit here and tweek it as the day goes on.

Have no idea what to take out for supper tonight. It's just me and hubby tonight. Cody has to work. Really don't like cooking for just two of us. Seems like such a waste to dirty the pans and dishes. And I always make way to much.

Hi Barb! I hope you find those words. Be careful moving that heavy furniture.

We still have leftover broccoli/rice/chicken casserole in the fridge. I was going to freeze some of it, but I guess we'll just eat it tonight since I don't feel like cooking. All the other meat is in the freezer anyway. I suppose that I should get something out for tomorrow night.

When I looked outside this morning I noticed part of the back yard is mowed too. I didn't realize hubby mowed back there last night.

Hi dee,
Yup, I moved the furniture carefully. Just sitting here "tweeking" yet.

That was nice of your husband to mow some of the backyard.
After work last night, my husband went outside to check the backyard out. Said it did'ent pay to start his rider up just yet. Some area's need cutting, but it can wait till the rest get longer. So he raked the front area. Our neighbor's have a big pine tree, that made a big mess there.

Yes, I wish I could find the name of that song. Is'ent that something..a person never thinks bout stuff like that till it's to late to ask.

Hey Everyone!

I am at the library again today. Yup computer is still in the shop. I guess I maxed out the harddrive and it couldn't defrag which caused some problems. The anti-virus program I had on is almost worse than the viruses it is to detect and kill. I didn't renew the subscription and now trying to get it removed so I can put on a different one is not easy to say the least. It has taken two days to get all of the program off my computer.
I had another hard drive put in to take care of all my pictures and music. Now when I get the computer back HOPEFULLY TODAY!!! I have to reinstall all of my applications. What a mess. But I will have a fast clean computer to spend all of my day on. HEE HEE.

Gas prices here are $3.81 a gal. It takes me about $75 to fill up my minivan.
I guess compared to other countries we do still have cheap gas. I just can't celebrate that though.

Barb, I went looking for that song for you. Here's what I found (the lyrics are someone else's search for the song):

"The angels are lighting God's little candles, Softly they they glow as the day says goodbye. Yes the angels are lighting God's little candles, we call them stars, they are are friends in the sky. The cares of the day, like clouds roll away, as stars twinkle through the curtain of blue"

Buy the sheet music (or record?) here: http://www.letrs.indiana.edu/cgi/b/bib/bib-idx?&g=sheetmusic&c=starr&c=devincent&view=reslist&type=simple&q1=Angels%20are%20lighting&rgn1=title (Hank Snow's "The Singing Ranger" (The Bear Family)

Listen to a short clip here: http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/snow_hank/421652/album.jhtml
(And buy the album if you can afford the $60.)

Marsha, I hope you get everything fixed up nice and spiffy with your computer.

Good Friday morning, everyone! Can't beleive I never posted in here yesterday . . I did read a few times, but never took time to post.

Dee, glad your hubby finally got the mower going and at least part of the yard mowed. Now, I hope he can get the clothesline up right away for you.

Barb, I love moving furntirure around, and the entertainment center really put a damper on that. However, with the new laminate floor, and felt pads on the bottom of all my furniture, I can move even it! It's nice. BTW, I checked out the link Maggie gave for the song -- cute song! I can see why you'd want to find it.

Marsha, hope you get that puter back real soon -- we miss you in here!

I was busy on the room all day . . . it was a very discouraging day. A friend from church had been out here 2 days for 2 hours each day helping me. She's much older than me, and can't do a whole lot, but she was still a big help, and even did some errands on her way out. She needed the money, I needed the help, so it's been a good arrangement for the both of us. But yesterday she called me at 7:15 in tears cuz she’d pulled her back out and wasn’t going to be able to help paint. It worried me that she’d done something out here to hurt it, but she assured me that it just goes out and she never has been able to pin down what she’s done. Anyway, she had to go to the chiropractor and wasn’t going to be able to help today, and probably not today either.

I went to town early in the morning to get some corner things for the 2 corners, then went BACK to town to get the wider corner things for the ceiling – kinda like crown or cove moulding, but on a smaller scale, I guess. I'd bought a mitre saw for the floor, right, so figure no problem, I can miter this for the corners. Not! . . . . Found out that mitering cove molding is SOOOOOO MUCH different than mitering floor baseboard. . . . Well, after at least 20 trips up & down off the step stool, at least 5 trips to the shed, 3 phone calls to try to find someone who knew someTHING about mitering cove moulding, and 3 hours later, I decide to put all the moulding and trim aside and start the painting, and when the guy comes to put the window in I’ll have him either show me how or do it himself. Now, I just hope he makes it as he promised.

So, somewhere around 4:00 I finally started painting. This time I did a primer tho, and I’ve just finished putting the first coat on. It took taken me every bit of two hours.. Part of the dividing wall, and a few other places which we couldn't peel the orange paint from needed another coat of primer, which I put on later in the evening, then touched it up a third time before going to bed. The rest is looking fine with just one coat of primer.

Today, I have to finish the room, put all my paint stuff away, then start emptying the dining room & kitchen. That will take all day, I’m sure. I can’t let myself think about it or I’ll just start crying – as I nearly did today . . . I forgot to get boxes yesterday, so am wondering if I can make do with the one box I have -- or will have as soon as I open & empty it of the foam mattress topper I got for our bed -- have to put more water in it before I put it on, and can't do that this week, so was going to leave it for next week. Now I need the box

Anyway, gotta get in there and attempt once more to miter the cove moulding -- found some directions on the net last night and think I understand how to do it.

Sorry for the long post! . . . hope you all have a great day!

Leah...S L O W down!!!! Man, you sound lke a real Remodeler Trooper!!
Yea...miter corners is not real easy!! I give you credit tho, I tackle alot of things by myself...but that would NOT be one of them!!

Wednesday, I noticed that when I got up, it was a bit chilly in here, so went to the thermostat & found it to be non-functioning!! So, called hubby back in, & he just replied...."I'll have to replace it..." & then left for work.....not acceptable!!
I did not want to sit here catching a chill all day....so I put on my granny glasses & re-programed it my self!!
We have tenants upstaires also, so I had to do something. I did call the repair man, & he told me he could fix it....for a FEE!
My Mother always taught us girls not to rely on Men to do what we can do also!!

Good Friday Morning Everyone

Leah, Oh how I wish I lived close to you. I would help you out for sure. Might I suggest useing laundry baskets for the stuff you need to move out of the room? They hold more than some boxes, and you have the handles to help pick it up. Also don't let this chore overwelm you girl...just take it slow. Think of the chore in sections insted of the whole thing. Might help you out.
Yes that song is very pretty. Did you have a chance to listen to more of the sample album? He's got some cute songs on it.
But I remember mom singing that song alot, while rocking my younger sister. I'm sure she sung it to all of us.

Maggie, speaking about that song...I just wanted to THANK YOU again for finding it for us! It was wonderful of you to take the time to do that for us.
Brought back many good memories when I heard the sample.
Me and Pam just need to find the single to buy now.

Well I ended up makeing brats and beans last night. Nice easy supper that I did'ent make to much of.
Don't know what to take out for tonight tho...mabey some frozen pizza's will work.
Talked to my grandson last night on the phone. He wanted me to come pick him up and bring him out for some ice cream. I told him I could'ent. He then told me his mommie and daddie would bring him over, then I could bring him for ice cream. I started laughing and he said "OK grandma...I will be right over..bye..I love you" Funny littls guy. Wonder how his mom and dad talked him out of that one.
