Oh, Sam. I'm so sorry. Sometimes these computers just get in the way, don't they? Maybe the old way was better.

ORIGINAL: Focusing Okay, I came here to think. Gotta think. Munchkin did his homework on our computer at home, and I emailed all the documents to his teacher. This is the teacher who has informed me numerous times that he didn't turn in his homework ... when I emailed it to her, on time, and so I have to respond by forwarding my previous email with the date and time stamp to prove that it indeed had been sent to her ... on time. This is the same teacher who doesn't always look through the turned in homework folder in her classroom before marking homework as being not turned in. This is the same teacher who is known by other parents to simply delete emails without reading them ... emails forwarding their child's homework, just like I do. This is the same teacher who claims she can't email information to me because she doesn't have my email ... nevermind the fact that we emailed on a daily basis, as agreed upon in a face-to-face meeting, listing the daily homework assignments. This is the same teacher who expects the kids to turn in homework that they all insist was not assigned ... and their homeroom teachers know nothing about ... then marks them all down as not having done their homework. Oh my! This is a whole lotta stuff to have to think about ... But, my predicament today is ... although I emailed the completed homework to her last night, and she said she got it, she now cannot open the documents. Although I've sent them to her in the same format in the past. And now I need to figure out how to open these documents on my work computer and convert them to another format and resend them to her. And. It's. Not. Working. Did you try to copy and paste it?

ORIGINAL: Focusing Yeah. Apparently these schools believe all the students should be privy to their own personal computers with all the latest software. Do you realize that starting next year, it is part of the required curriculum for band students to sign up for (and pay!) a program to be installed on their computers, they will be sent equipment that needs to be hooked between their instrument and the computer, so they can practice and be recorded? Yes, you read that correctly ... part of the REQUIRED CURRICULUM!! Good thing we have a computer. I don't think that's too cool for the families that can't afford one ... including the internet connection required to run the program. If these public schools keep it up, I might as well send him back to a private school. Might be cheaper. Whatever happened to the "free" education? It's costing me a fortune!! That's seriously outrageous. It's public school, right? I might understand it if it were a private school. Total stupidity. Edited: Oops, I see that it is public school. Really, really stupid. I mean me and the school.

Whew! I was able to get the documents converted ... the chocolate from FB's Therapy Center really helped ... and I just received an email from the teacher that she received them all and was able to open and print them out. Now that leaves me to tree climbing for the afternoon. See ya later ... ... unless you see me first!

ORIGINAL: WhiteRoseBlessings I have loved it. I think in the beginning, it took a bit of adjustment to get used to the "feel" of it, but I find it quite comfortable. edited: re: laptop keyboards. Hi all, I don't know what I do wrong, but a lot of the time when I'm using a laptop, my cursor moves over into the middle of another word, and I have a real mess on my hands, if I don't notice it right away. It happens a lot!

ORIGINAL: WhiteRoseBlessings Collie - Is that your senior portrait? I love it! Re: Your laptop. Do you have a mouse, a mouse pad or a ball? I just have a flat pad below the keyboard that I manipulate with my fingers. I'm not sure why you're cursor is doing that. Yep, that's me. Thank you. I don't use a mouse with my laptop, sounds like I might have the wandering thumb syndrome as well.
