Do the same rules apply for all threads?

I went to Mikes thread in M&E. I was really disappointed that the discussion on the definition of sin was derailed. Sometimes you are discussing a topic that has subtopics like sin that need to be involved in order for the discussion to be delved into fully.

Don't we talk about anything we want in here? The PFY area?

Okay all seriousness aside I was really hoping to see the start of a new "coffee" thread. Was the coffee thread under all that regulation. Sometimes the fun stuff is a takeoff from the super serious stuff. oh well, it is what it is.

Ok. Not to change topic, but the reason I wanted to see P.S. I Love You is because of who played the guys. The guy that played Gerry (Gerard Butler) was the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. The guy that played William (Jefferey Dean Morgan) played in Grey's Anatomy. Of course Daniel (Harry Connick Jr.) just couldn't be missed.

I really enjoyed it though. I'm thinking about buying it.

I've never been married, engaged, or dated 'seriously'. However I hope to one day be in love with somebody so much that I can't picture the rest of my life without them.

I watched P.S. I Love You again Friday night. I will not go into my reaction to it this time as far as being a widow goes not good!
How ever I have to say that if there is a 40 something christian guy out there that has eyes and a smile like Jefferey Morgan, I want to meet him.

This is my Mothers Day so far:

My 8 year old woke me up to ask me if she could make me some coffee. She made the Coffee and then she brought it to me. She then made me toast and brought that to me on a cookie sheet. She presented me with 5 cards and a treasure box she made at school out of a cigar box. Inside the box was a poem they had them write for us at school and a letter she wrote for me on her own(we really need to work on her spelling) It was very sweet. It made me cry.

Twin B made me a key chain for the mail key I am always losing and she wrote out some of her poems on 3/5 cards in her best handwriting and made little drawings on them. She also made a "sleeve thing" to keep them in. (This all was very touching to me because this is the daughter I have been having the most difficulty with lately.)

Twin A gave me a sketch of a bird from the book she just finished,"Hinds-feet on High Places" She is doing a Book report on it for school and they have to make very elaborate presentations. I am so proud of her because she is not afraid to present a Christian book and share what it means to her. Her teacher has been great about it. I'm not sure how others in the future will act but we'll just take one day at a time.

We are supposed to go out with my inlaws this evening. For Ice cream I think.
I hope you all are having a good day!

I was served coffee in bed, eggs and toast. Later we are going out to eat and then to see a movie. Now I want Cold Stone...

What sweet kids!

I just read about the girlchild in the Den. Situations like that can be so difficult, but you have handled everything so much better than I would have. I probably would have spewed something about the GF and then regretted it later.
I was thinking after I read it that she is really getting to see opposite parenting stratgies and will know first hand what not to do. It doesn't help much now though I know.

If you look at the bolded part you will see that Twin B is a challange to say the least. The biggest problem is me. Since her Dad died I am very easy on her and I am very inconsistant. I am only consistant on my good days so she is very confused. She knows how to push my buttons like no one has ever done. She twists everything I say to mean what ever she wants to hear or decides to hear. Being a single parent is a huge challenge isn't it. I'm not enjoying it so far, but I have no other choice. I'm reading a book that talks about how God is the Father of the fatherless. I am not sure how this works. It is a new concept to me. I sure do need a partner in this though, so I am open to whatever he has in mind.

!Mush Warning!
Fritz you are such a great Mom! Everytime I read something about your interaction with your kids it is a great encouragement to me. Your love for them comes through loud and clear. I am a new single Mom, so I am always on the lookout for someone who is doing this well, because I really do see so many IRL who are not, and it really scares me. This day is really for woman like you who make so many sacrifices for your children, during this thankless time, when no one seems to appreciate it. But, when grown, they will remember everything you did for them, the moment they hold their first child in their arms.
End Mush!

No, it was a very free ranging stream of consciousness thread.

Nadine, this describes my ManCub to a T. I say he wakes up every morning just intuitively knowing where I've tied my goat and sets out immediately to get it.

((((Nadine)))) I told someone else the other day that I *literally* ask God to raise these kids up in the way they should go Himself because I know that I can't do it. Somehow, Nadine, He has honored my pathetic prayer and they are becoming extraordinary people in spite of me.

I have no words to thank you, you can't know what telling me this means to me. It literally touched me so deeply that it made me cry. I know you know how it feels to, every day, know that there's just not enough in you or of you to do this the way you want to do it. And, yet, somehow God more than picks up the slack. Thank you. Only a really great mom would know what you know and say what you've said.

I love it!

I first heard it sometime last year and I always enjoy listening to it.

Today I just learned that she's also come out with DadSense. Y'all might enjoy it.

Hi Nadine, perhaps there could be an entirely seperate thread called what is sin? Just a thought.

Did you finish House?

The book I mentioned earlier is called :
When women walk alone, by Cindi McMenaman

Did you ever read something that you knew was the truth, but you fought it tooth and nail. I am usually a lover of truth. When I read something and it agrees with the word of God and in my Spirit I know its true, I usually rejoice. Not this time. I see the truth. It is right there in front of me and I hate it. This has never happen to me before. It is truly frustrating to say the least.
