Recently here in Houston the local PBS station put on a town hall on the subject of immigration. Had the opposing sides there, and what happened was they actually TALKED to each other!
I'll let you read the link and see what one of the two livebloogers had to say about the event. Follow the link in the second paragraph and you can find the "other side" also.

Mr. Khotari really set up the whole situation for me. His words were reminder of what this country is all about. I don't have his exact words but it was something to the effect that people crave freedom. It can not be taken out of them. They flock to the light of freedom and liberty. To have economic success on top of that, only increases the draw.
