Hmm...

Names I DON'T like:

Patrick - I have yet to meet a Patrick that didn't annoy the heck out of me.

As for names I like, well, I'm not overly picky. Heck, my name isn't common. Well, my first name, in any case.

It's my younger brother's first name. It's the first name of every boy that I could barely stand in elementary school. If I ever meet a Patrick that I can truly appreciate, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I also like the James.

In fact, if I had chosen the name for my son, he would have been Michael James.

(both are family names too)

Yes, that's me.

That really is a cool site!

I looked up my mother's name, Billie, because I've always loved it and it's so unique and unusual for a woman. She was named for Billie Burke, the actress. I found that the origin is Germanic, and the popularity of the name was indeed very high in the 30's and 40's and dropped off dramatically in the 60's and 70's.

When I posted earlier on I was thinking of meeting someone with a certain name, not naming them. I have lots of names for boys. Since I had all girls, I never got to use any of them. These are my baby names for boys:

Sawyer
Harrison
Emerson
Alden
Simeon
Barrett
Blake
Henley
Carson
Spenser
Tennyson
Morgan (used too much for girls now though)
Reagan (yes after the president)
Carter (not after the president)

I'll just say as long as he is not named Bubba, Gomer, Homer, or Cooter, just about any name is fine by me.

........... exactly.

I didn't say naming a baby...

I would have posted in a different thread if I wanted to talk about naming someone....

My ex's family actually started calling my son Bubba. Infuriates me, so I started calling him Big T (his name is Tristen).

I've always liked Theophilus (it's in the bible) - just because I know nowadays there's 99% surety that no one will ever be given that name ................ again!

I don't mind it, though I prefer the form Angela or Angelica. I wouldn't be likely to name a daughter Angel.
