Yeah, not too worried about the stretch marks, the ones I got a year ago when I gained alot of weight have totally faded. They do look like scratches, my little brother freaked out after his dog jumped on me thinking he did it.
Yeah, my friend is totally not one of those crazy bride type people. She just wants to get married and have her friends/family there.

It's weird when they totally fade and become shiny. I have some that are still pink, or maybe they are new ones, I can't rightly tell. I think it's just easier to see them because the skin is all stretched out.
Yeah, no more picking Nadia up. Bummer, will have to think of better ways to keep her with me at the grocery store. Any ideas? Besides tying her to the cart?

Train her to walk holding onto the side of the cart. This will take lots of reminding at first, but she is old enough to do it. Hannah does it with no trouble now, and if you remember, she is my girl who needed a "leash" to go on walks last summer. In the beginning, I had to keep my hand on top of her hand to remind her to keep it on the cart. She does sometimes like to stand on the end of the cart too and I let her now that she is strong enough to hold on well.

for someone like you that carries weight the way you do, it is typical to look about like you did at 4-5mo for a few months after the pregnancy. For me I know it takes about two months before all the saggy muscles start to start firming back up again. I know some women who are back in their pre-pregnancy pants by a few weeks, but their upper gut area is still pregnant looking a bit. Then there are some who's bodies pop back into pre-pregnancy form all over very quickly (that's very rare though). For me though, it's typically a couple of months before those muscles have any desire to start getting firm again though.

Kathryn....if you are doing all that and not even having BH, then you are definitely fine. BUT like Donna said, SLOW DOWN and don't overdo it!!!!!!

so what are the colors....maybe you need to make a carrier that matches the colors so you can carry baby down with you if you have to....that will keep him/her quiet!!! LOL

do you have a van or a car? If she is anything like mine at that age, she can easily, from the seat of the car or the side of the seat from a van, climb into the cart on her own. My van is the perfect height cause I can push the cart right up into the van and they just step in or out.
plus like Donna said...train her and tell her that you can't go running after her...she is a big girl now, not a baby and she is big enough to understand her new role in the family as the "older sister".

From the spot on Monday I would say no, since nothing else has happened. But a little spot of blood can be a sign of pre-term labor.... not to scare you at all, but when they thought Judah was going to be born at 19 weeks the *only* thing that clued me in that something was wrong was a *little* bit of blood. I am totally not the type of person to run to the hospital just because of a little bit of bleeding (because it really was a little amount!!) so it was entirely God laying it on both my heart and Paul's (because he's the one who in the end *made* me go in.)
We went in and I was dilated and the baby had dropped into the birth canal - I NEVER felt a contraction or anything else unusual that would give me any other clue.

Kathryn, does your store have the "car" carts or the seats for the older ones? I know there is one local grocery store here that has the car carts & Wal-Mart has the seats for two attached. Granted, these can be a tad harder to maneuver, but then you don't have to worry about Nadia getting tired, etc. (if that's a concern).

Kathryn, I had a spot of bleeding about the same time when I was pregnant with Gabby. I did go to L&D because it was more like a gush of bright red blood that totally freaked me out, especially since we hadn't "done the deed" in like 2 days. They said it can still be from "DTD", or it can just be a cervical polyp or it can just be a bit of irritation because that are is much more vascular when you are pregnant.
I did not restrict lifting or anything afterwards, my OB told me to keep lifting what I was already doing but to not lift anything more.

An empire waist? No way. You will look more pregnant in that then anything else... Kim, you should have plenty of time to be in better shape by next April.

LOL - true - empire might just make you look preggers ... except everyone will know you've had the baby!
I know I *should* have plenty of time ... but I'm really not an exerciser! I'm glad June Bug's coming in June, though, so that I should have 4 - 5 months of really good walking weather before winter sets in ... cuz once winter's here, I don't do much in the way of exercise, and winter's been sticking around until mid-March lately! Plus, they're getting married in Mexico ... so bathing suits. Arg.

She doesn't talk about it, so I try not to also. I know she is happy for me, and just sad that she isn't pregnant yet. I'm sure she'll love the new baby just as she loves all of her nieces and nephews, but I know it's hard seeing me pregnant again. Plus, she knows this is probably our last and we both wish we had been pregnant together at least once.
She has lost a ton of weight though and looks great! They also decided that since the doctor couldn't find anything wrong with either of them, they are going to just naturally TTC for another year (year #3) before they consider other options.

Brandy- I'm sorry about your mom not coming. I would be disappointed, too.
Kristin- That stinks you're so miserable with your pain. I know what it's like to be looking forward to the next PT appointment. How comparable is your pain to before you were pregnant?
Donna- That's a scary feeling. I agree with Sarah, take Brian up on any offers of assistance...like back massages, breakfast in bed, etc. 
Emily- I hope my GBS screen is like yours!!! How are you feeling?
Erin, you are super cute!!! How exciting. As for the wedding, I know my SIL's have been in weddings just a few weeks after their babies were born. As long as your dh is willing to help out, which I'm sure he will be, you should be fine. Also, this is kind of rare, but depending on the dress, there are maternity styles. My SIL's did that for a wedding we were in in March. I BARELY fit into my regular dress. But their dresses were so cute anyway, you couldn't really tell they were maternity unless you had a belly in the middle! I could have worn the same dress (with no belly at the time) and it would have looked really cute too.
I'm off to my US girls, I'll try and post a pic when I get back.

I have become a HUGE fan of Landsend "Slender" suits. Mine feels a bit like putting on a girdle but I have a flat tummy and it's comfy once I get it all the way on...
Erin and Kim, one word- Spanx. Or Assets from Target work just as well for half the price.

Yeah ... and those are the people you want to beat senseless because there is no obvious indication that they just had a baby, save for the sleeping bundle in the carseat!!! (I have a sil who within a week of birthing TWINS was back to her pre-preggers weight and shape, without exercise, etc ... the most she did was walk up the stairs to her bedroom at night ... AARGH!!!!)

Emily, that's really cool that you got to swab yourself! When they did mine they actually inserted the swab into both holes! I wasn't expecting that, I thought they were just going to swab the area. It was quite uncomfortable!
The weirdest thing happened to me last night. I was laying awake in bed. It was about 2:00 and I hadn't been able to fall asleep yet. I was having lots of BH contractions and the baby was moving more than I've felt her move in a long time (it's like she was practicing to be a gymnist or a ballarina). Anyways, I kept having these feelings like my whole body would all of the sudden be full of energy and my muscles would all tense up a bit. At the same time I would feel like I wasn't getting enough oxygen and start gasping for breath. This went on for about 2 hours. Then all of a sudden I felt like I was being electricuted. That's the best way I can describe it. It didn't hurt, but all my muscles tensed up tighter than I thought possible, my skin started tingling all over, my eyes snapped shut, and I started panting for dear life! I felt completely out of control of my own body, almost like it wasn't even happening to me. It felt like it lasted about 20 or 30 seconds but it could have been more or less. Then it started to melt away and when it was gone my body was still tingling and I was shaking. I wondered at the time if I was going into labor, but it only happened that one time and it didn't hurt, it just felt very strong and intense. Then I thought maybe it was a panic attack, but I don't know because I wasn't really feeling panicky before it happened, just kind of restless. Does this sound familiar to anybody? I have no idea what it was. I'm glad it only happened once though, even though it didn't hurt it was a really unsettling feeling. I was finally able to fall asleep around 5 and get a couple hours of sleep before I had to get up. So I'm really tired now.

the youngest member at our wedding was only three weeks old....soooo cute too!!!!!! His mom was one of my best friends in high school and she sang at my wedding.

We walked beside the cart by Nadia's age(she is about 3, right?), I don't think it's all that unrealistic. However... This situation is the reason I have been trying baby carriers of every variety so that I can just wear the new baby(when we have one) and let Gabby ride in the buggy.

If I was in preterm labor don't you think something else would've happened by this point? Seeing as how it was monday? I mean I realize labor can take a while, but 3 days? I'm seeing the potential midwife tomorrow and will mention it, but I haven't had anything else at this point and baby is still very active. I'm not feeling a 'thing' to be worried about it, kwim?
Andrew's actually been working with her on staying beside the cart. And she did it well today when I went. She likes to push the cart, although a bit too fast for me. I have to waddle behind her. I'm sure it's funny looking. But you know what, she is happier outside the cart. As for the car, she can climb up in herself and getting out I hold her hands and she jumps down. I don't feel too much of a strain that way. When she gets out or gets in she holds onto the gas cap if I don't have her door open right away. She's very intuitive and smart girl, I'm grateful for that.

I will probably go back to evening shopping when the baby is born though, because no way am I taking three kids 3 and under to the store by myself every week. 
Through the summer, I may either wait until Brian is home with the kids or see if SIL will watch them.
My sister's getting married next April and I'm in the wedding party and I'm just HOPING that she'll pick a forgiving style!
I'd never in a million years let him out of the cart right now, but Hannah is much easier, and Nadia is about the same age. It should not be too difficult to train Nadia and will be extremely helpful once the new baby is here. 
His shoulder was hurting him pretty bad last night and he was exhausted from no sleep too. He did burgers on the grill.
