Well, I think Ds only slept for 3-4 hrs last night. He fell asleep on the couch before we left for church, slept walked to the car, slept all the way to church and couldn't even drink a cup of hot chocolate. Since we go to SS and late service and my parents go to early service I sent him home with them in hopes that he rest. He didn't really nap but he would have been miserable in church.

My mommy got me a new table top griddle!!! I was so excited. I had one that I used for french toast, pancakes, that kind of thing. A couple months ago the plug melted the area where it plugged into the griddle. Then a few uses later I noticed that it was sparking some and pulled it out and a bunch more sparks came. It was totally fried. I've been disappointed because I usually make french toast or pancakes aat least 3 times a month. I was so happy to have a new one.

MY ss at church gave me some perfume. i don't usually wear it because a lot of scents bother me. This one didn't smell too bad so I put a little on. When I first sprayed it, it ws real strong but I think I like it. It's called Odyssey by Avon.

My dad says my van is fixed. It looks like it was the clamps that attach the resoivour to the car that were bad. They were loose and letting things drip. He replaced the clamps and said it is looking good. He ran it in the driveway for a while and no drips. When I go get my dinner we will take back mom's car and get my van back. He wants to check it every day we see him though: which is at least 4 days a week.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, Ladies!!
I am kinda lonely. Hubby left for new job in Cleveland. We had a great day together, then he left late this afternoon.
We put our house on the market on Friday. He is staying with my brother and sis-in-law. He is going to look into leasing the house that we saw when we were up there a couple of weeks ago. Then we will gradually move stuff up there as we travel back and forth to see each other.
Thanks for your prayers that our house sells quickly! We are being aggressive about pricing it, and are offering some incentives to the buyer agent, so it should sell quickly. I do not want to spend months here while he is up there. Not fun!
Hope everyone had a great day and was pampered and gifted lovingly!

Great about the van, Zoebob.

We had dinner with my dad and his family. It is always a mixed blessing. I love them all, really, I do. But I am somewhat depressed these days and was in a pretty bad mood today, plus I am still really tired and not feeling great. And I have to go back to work in the morning.

My baby sister gave me two lovely roses that I can put on my desk, though

I also got to talk to my dad about the canoe--now I know what to do first, and how to repair some of the damage that it has. He said it needs pressure washing, though...do I have to rent a machine for that, or maybe just use my hose and scrub? I have to scrub some and do some sanding anyway...

The canoe has always been yellow. I have to repaint it in the end, and am hesitant to paint it anything BUT yellow, lol, because this thing is a family heirloom. But perhaps a red stripe or something. (don't worry, Cindy--no pink on this canoe! )

I tried to post yesterday but this site wouldn't let me. Son and I did our annual bike tour--Columbus to Portsmouth and back. Full report is posted on my running site-- http://www.kickrunners.com/forum//showthread.php?t=28508 . We had a blast!

Once in Portsmouth I called dh. Since we met in '87 he's asked me to call when I get in. Plus, son was really excited about our time. But... "Hi! We're in. We had a great ride and finished in 6:41" "So why are you calling?" "To let you know we're in" "Oh" Luckily, the band started up (party in the park for the tour) and we couldn't hear each other so we hung up. Ouch.

Today I'm busy cleaning up the crisis situations dh created over the weekend. That's fine. I'm feeling pretty good today. Quads are a bit sore, but the more I move the better I'll feel. I'll get out for an easy walk/jog later today.

That is a really good idea. Unfortunately, we have no way to get it there. Which also, of course, means we have no way of getting it to the water, lol. Now, I can almost see the water from here, so I think we will build something on wheels that we can pull along the sidewalk, but we have to fix the boat before we worry about that, lol. My van does actually have a hitch, but we have no trailer.

I really don't want to go to work today. But I am a big girl...I can do this.

LOL, I think you underestimate my canoe. It is about sixteen-eighteen feet long, and 3 feet wide, made of wood and fiberglass.

DS is making up for not sleeping Sat night. When I went up to bed last night at about 10:45 he was asleep and is still asleep: 10:25.

Hazel, Congratulations on the successful biking trip with your son! Awesome.

I think of you every time my dh gets up and goes out to run, which I am proud to say he did every day of vacation. His goal is to complete a marathon for his 50th birthday next January. He has done this three times before in his life, so I think he'll make it this time too.

My fitness goals are much more modest- simply to work out for 30 minutes 3 times a week.

Thank heavens!

It is cool, cloudy, and generally gloomy today, and I'm having a real hard time getting motivated to do anything. Trouble is that my boss seems to think I should.

Yah, cool and gloomy here, too. Four loads of laundry washed, dried and folded. Also put away two or three others. Cleaned our bathroom. The kids and I did a 3mile walk/run/roller blade. Felt good to get the legs moving again.

I can't hear out of my right ear again. It doesn't hurt. I just can't hear and my cheek feels funny. Doctor suggested I try allergy medication. If it doesn't improve, he wants to see me.

This is the city-wide junk week, and so far we've had more leave than come back into our house! Yay! I put out a couch, two chairs and a night table that were all in terrible shape. They had been in the wreck (Yes, in our case that is spelled correctly )room and Jake's room and had suffered a lot of dog/kid abuse. I'm so happy to see them gone. Merv and Joe went out walking last night and Joe picked up a set of WWII encyclopedias, plus he had someone come out of their house and give him two board games, Statego and Pictionary.

I had Joe work on the wreck room a little today, and then he dug up a bunch of daylilies for me. I had a spot with daylilies and hostas. Over the years the lilies have taken over crowded out the hostas. You'd think I'm the meanest mom on the planet because I gave him some jobs to do. I've really been convicted lately of the fact that I try to do everything myself and don't ask my family to help out.

Sue, we used to have junk week, too. The kids would go out and hunt for "treasures"!

Dh cooked a ham today. I told him that I would but he insisted. He didn't see the little plastic piece on the bottom of the ham, so it was cooked, too!! Anyone want a burned plastic flavored ham sandwich??

Amy, I am glad you are OK and didn't get in any of the tornadoes!!
We went to Dd's and Ds's for the weekend. I forgot to take the cell phone charger with me so my phone went dead. I finally found a charger in Ds's bag of "electronics" (his bag he carries his games and stuff in) so I got my phone to charge. While it was charging, we were watching the Weather channel and it said that the county Dd is in was hit by a tornado. I picked up my cell phone and there were 2 voice messages on it. One said "Don't worry, we are OK!" I guess my Dd knows how I freak out when I hear stuff like that!!!!

Jen, have fun with the canoe when ya get it to the water!! I have only been canoeing once. Dd and I went out but we didn't do very well when it came to steering it. We decided to give up when we crossed the line and ended up in the swimming area!

Hi, everyone!

I am totally worn out. Plus, AF showed up--8 days late, but late is better than never, I guess. I worked in the lab today with no ill effects--thank you for your prayers!

I am making Brandon cook and Nate make tea for me. I should never have sat down when I got home.

Isn't that the truth? It's amazing how you can keep goin' and goin', but the minute you sit down . . .

Sue, I am impressed that you got rid of more than you accumulated. I am so glad we don't have a junk day anywhere that my dh can get to.

Hi All! Well, dh went back to work today. I'll miss having him around so much, but it will be nice to start getting back to a schedule. My parents are leaving tomorrow morning, so that will help us get back into a routine too. It was Hard to get up this morning. We haven't had to use an alarm very often in the last 5 weeks! We have MOPS this morning, so I need to go get a shower & get the kids up in a little bit.

Ds broke a board at Karate last night - he was pretty proud of himself! He also got 1st place in his sparring match at the tournament this weekend - that's his 1st first place since he started! Funny though - they always had blue trophies for 1st place & red for 2nd, but they got new ones & the 1st place ones are now red & 2nd place ones are now blue. He thought it was funny that all his trophies are still red.

Dd was pretty upset yesterday, because we were supposed to go get her military ID, but we realized that we needed to get ds's passport because both dh & I had to be there to sign for it & it was his last day off work. We didn't have time to do both, because we wanted to go to the OKC memorial museum too. She felt like everything is about ds & really, he does have a lot going on right now & since her horse riding teacher quit, she doesn't have even that anymore. I need to make sure that I spend some time with her & find some special activities for her to do this summer. Dh has a men's get together Friday night & ds has Karate, so we may make it a girl's shopping night & go look for some sandals & shorts for her. We switched out her clothes yesterday & she really needs some shorts - she has several "play around the house" shorts, but needs some more presentable ones!

Can you tell I'm tired? I'm rambling on & on. Well, I'd better get moving! Praying everyone had a good night's sleep & has a good day today!

Amy, I know you'll miss having your dh around, but I'm so glad that he's recovered and able to go back to work. Congratulations to your son for breaking a board! I think you're right, it would be good for your daughter for you two to have a girls night out.

Hello everyone. It doesn't look very chatty in here lately. In some ways, that is nice! I can keep up better with the reading!

Today is a very busy day!! School, WIC appt., a trip to get grociers and other errands, and a trip to Iowa City. I really, really, HATE that this hospital doesn't give me the time of the surgery until the day before. I don't know if I am really leaving today, or if I can get by with getting up early and leaving tomorrow. I will also hear from the Ronald McDonald house today to see if I have a room for tonight, if it's a big room the whole family will come. I love family togetherness, but I am not very good at a "spur of the moment" family trip with last minute packing, calling coaches for missing games..etc. Either way... stay home tonight, or leave sometime today. It will be a sleepless night (I fear) with Noah fasting. Last night Noah was up constantly to nurse! I'm hoping it was because we were outside in the wind and cold for a few hours before bed time. I had trouble sleeping, too, because of that. My body felt "shot", including my head, and it wouldn't feel normal enough to let me sleep. There is something about wind and cold that does that to me.

My inlaws are planning on coming this week, too. They will either be here the same day I return... of, if we all go, they will come the next day. She is such a clean freak, it will be hard. But, I will enjoy their company, too, since we don't see them that often. She is a sweet mother-n-law and I have learned to love her over the years. She is kind of funny to me now... she always tries to "fix" my husband. She sits around and tries to figure out how he can have more money, health insurance, and everything else. It use to annoy me. now, I know better.

I used Sudafed and ear wax removal drops from Walmart. Not sure which was the cure since I did both at the same time and after 2 1/2 weeks of not hearing I was desperate... but I can hear now. The stinkin ear wax drops is oily though and made the inside of my ear break out. That hurt!
