Quaker State is good. My brother introduced me to them. Our favorite place here is called Wings to Go. They make the best fresh cut fries too. The only place I like soggy fries

what do you think of the strawberry filled oreos? I've never tried the PB ones. Strawberry filled are good for the first few... then they start to taste funny to me.

Hi, everyone. It's a treat to read all about your days when I get a minute in the evening! Ladies, I think I need an attitude adjustment. I really don't like my job No one has any fun-the only jokes that ARE made, and they are seldom, are at others' expense. Most of the time no one is talking...and I can barely take it. I spent the entire 8 hours today going line by line through spreadsheets, comparing the lines to other lines, and highlighting them when I found mistakes. I know I am being paid well (fairly) for this, but it's killing me! I could care less about hay, there is nothing that sparks my interest to ask questions and learn more...while the people are nice, it doesn't matter since they are all so stressed out and serious about their jobs and nearly never chatting about anything. I don't answer the phone, there are no customers, I don't even deal with the truck drivers. I can do the job, and do it well-judging by their comments-but I don't enjoy it in the least, it is NOT challenging, and I don't want to stay there for five months!

Congratulations to Ezri and her graduate!! The avatar picture is terrific!! Lisa...if your scar is like my mil's (she had her parathyroids removed and was cut from ear to ear) your scar really won't show once the red is out. Were you glued or stitched? Happy Birthday to Ashley! I believe that Ashley is the same age as my oldest dd!

What does Quaker State sell? I've seen hints in our local paper that the restaurant is coming to our area and being that PA is my home state the name intrigues me.

I mistyped. It's Quaker Steak and Lube. They are known for their wings mostly but there are other things.

Lisa...if your scar is like my mil's (she had her parathyroids removed and was cut from ear to ear) your scar really won't show once the red is out. Were you glued or stitched? OK, that makes me want to pass out right here in the middle of these people taking math tests. My cut, if I remember correctly, is about 4 inches. I think it looks like it is stitched. It is really hard to imagine that it won't show much at some point as it is red and ugly right now. I am trying not to worry about it as these things either take care of themselves (with care) or they don't. The scar on my head doesn't bother me at all (except if it gets sunburned). That was 180 stitches. I am trying to just trust if that scar has never bothered me tha this one won't as well, but right now I am still in the brainwashing process as I haven't begun to fully believe myself yet. I went to the endo today and left in utter tears. I feel like I am going though this blindfolded with the book of Daniel for a guide. Every time I think I know what and when the next step is, I find ot that I don't and it is very frustrating to me. The secratary in Russ' office raves about her endo and she sounds like the kind of person hat I need right now. After this last appointment Russ is sure that he wants to get an appointment with this other endo to care for my needs.

Lisa- glad to hear the scar is only 4" long. Praying about your endocrinologist woes and that the meds you will need will all come together without much tweaking or side effects. (((HUGS))) ~ezri

ok....so a few weeks ago I said somewhere over here in the HSing folder (probably the "creation" thread, but oh well, I am putting this in here) that hubby was raised with all that junk about evolution, etc. He has, since becoming a Christian, basically figured out that it was all bogus, but he really still gets confused with where the line is between creationism vs evolution. We talk about it often, but he really gets confused sometimes because of the way he was raised. Anyway, last night the kids were all in bed (except Jack) and we wanted to watch a movie together, so I was digging under the tv in the tapes to see what interested us. I found a whole big stack of 8 dvd's that he picked up at the Chaplain's office recently (that I never knew he picked up). They are all DVD lectures from Answers In Genesis (Ken Ham)....the creationist guy who teaches and lectures and debates creationism all over the place!!!! (The guy who started the Creation Museums). Anyway, I was so excited to find those!!!! We watched one last night about the foundation of scripture being on Genesis the first 11 chapters and how so many Christians want to take the Bible at it's word on everything after chapter 11 but before it they want to debate about the meaning of the word "day" and basically kill the foundation of Biblical teaching of creationism from the get go. Anyway, it was a very very good video!!!! I was taught this kind of stuff in school growing up...our Christian school went out of their way to teach a Biblical, Christian world view to us. Paul (like I said) was never taught that though, so it is so neat to see him really getting into this stuff and tearing it all apart and really getting a good foundation for creation under him too!!!! Anyway....I posted that here cause it has a lot to do with our schooling...he has in the past left some things up to me to teach because he didn't trust all he knew or didn't know about the truth of this one thing....so now that he is understanding it more he wants to teach it to the kids more!!!! The student becoming the teacher, and vice versa!!!!

DS is having fun today. I just hope he isn't being a pest. The house next door is empty. About 2X a summer they have someone come mow the lawn. Today was the day. He also took a chainsaw and cut the bushes in front of the house down to the stump. DS has spent a lot of time out there talking to him and helping him haul branches to a pile in the back yard. The guy is walking back and forth across the yard taking all his equiptment back to his trailer and DS is about 2 steps behind him chattering away. I told the guy to send DS home if he is being a pest. I also gave DS a warning about not going anywhere with him and staying out in the yard. I can also see out in the yard from all the rooms in the house.

Very good, Sarah. I'm glad you and your husband benefited from those DVD's.

Will do! It is rainy here too, I am bored and tired, so I am baking cookies! Needed to make myself get off the couch and do something fun! The kids think I am the best... can't remember the last time I made cookies, and they act like I am the best mom in the world! Wow! What instant gratification! Maybe this is what I need to do!! We don't have much in the house to snack on & it's PMS week for me, so I'm craving something sweet. We're having a rough afternoon. We have been off a schedule that there's a lot of whining going on. Well, I will exclude ds from the mix. He did 2 algebra lessons & his grammar without complaining & is in his room being quiet. Can't say the same for the females of the family (gotta include myself in that, because I'm not any more thrilled about helping dd with her Math than she is about doing it). It's gloomy here too & might rain, so I should go mow the grass. But baking cookies sounds better to me - maybe I can do both. Well, dd is done now - I'll check her work in a few minutes. Cool about the AIG videos Sarah! I dont' know if it's been mentioned in here, but Ben Stein has a new movie out called "Expelled". From what I've read it's about the evolution vs. Intelligent Design debate in universities - or should I say the lack of debate! It may be out of theaters now, not sure. I had hoped to see it in the theater, but may have to wait until DVD.
