Let me tell you what-

My lock at the college is an alpha numerical one. I had it set to 2 t 5 J and this young man thought that he was the 5th J. Imagine how embarrassed he was when I said yup I threw Jerry into the mix to throw folks off. LOL he had to stop and think for a moment. OH jerry starts with a J too! I thought... he was beet red and laughing at himself.

He is going NUTS since college finished up. He was seeing Trill every day then. But what's he go and do? The last week of classes he goes to a party for a pal and teases said pal during a game of football about the cute sailor suit the Navy had waiting for him and make said pal want to tackle him even harder. Yeah. a buckle fracture of one of the bones in the lower leg. Crutches for 2 weeks then another two weeks in the walking cast. OH and it is his RIGHT leg so NO DRIVING!

I need to call and chat with his mom and see if he is doing okay on her end. She said she'd had some behavior issues early on in the "relationship" She doesn't call it a courtship, though he does. But he is clamming up where she is concerned and I want to keep the lines open and free for discussion.

He had done something and I told him to mind his dance space and I thought she'd fall out when she heard because she'd told him the same thing. She grinned ear to ear- and said that she was glad we were on the same page.

yeah, but it is so much fun having someone to watch go through it first. I am not sur which is more fascinating: watching a non-boy-crazy well balanced, talented, godly young ladies face light up with this smile like I rarely see at the sound of a ring tone, or... the parents of said girl's parents while she is chatting with a most blessed young man. We still giggle and smile when it comes up in conversation.

He is trying a bit hard to please Jerry and me right now, poor fella. it all got to a point where he was looking at going to college out of state and leaving her behind and everything fell apart on him. Now he is going to a college closer to home- he will actually be able to commute. he told me that he'd just die if he went away and came back to find her married to someone else... As if... *rolls eyes*

Then there is this other young man with the same first name as Mr. B and I think Mr. B knows that Mr. Y enjoys Trill's company a bit much. Though Mr. B knows beyond a doubt that trill doesn't like Mr. Y "that way" it still drives him nuts when Mr. Y tries to dominate Trill's time. Mr. GREEN EYES comes out. Poor Mr. Y is OBLIVIOUS and the thing is I am fairly sure his mom KNOWS that Mr. B and trill are courting. Mr. Y is off to a 4 year gig at an out of state college here soon. I doubt he will catch on prior to leaving.

Hello everyone, Noah DID go through surgery this morning. He is not being very good about leaving his eye patch alone. He is in a baby swing right now. I LOVE this swing, at 14 mo. old he fits in it with room to grow! I have regreted getting rid of his baby swing when we moved, now I really regret it!! When he is tired, he loves to be strapped into things, like his car seat or high chair, so he looks so content to fall asleep in this swing. He looks so little in it, even though I thought he was too big for a baby swing by now.

it is hard to believe the day has been sunny and beautiful. I have been inside with Noah, keeping it dark for him, so he can rest more. Life has "stopped" for us and when I look outside everyone else's life just keeps right on going and being busy with every day things. it is weird.

I am glad Noah made it through surgery. I'm sorry he's being disagreeable about it now though.

I hate my van. I hate me van. I hate my van.

I'm really irritated at my neighbor now too. They parked in front of the mailboxes again. I left a note on their windshield when I left for work. When I got home the note was gone, the car was still there, and no mail in the mailbox (and the outgoing letter is still there)

Thanks for praying. Ds got back from his field trip O.K. He said it even stopped raining long enough for them to go out on the trails.
Now a RANT. Ds took his cell phone BUT the teacher made him leave it in his
locker at school. Then when they were late getting back, I get a call from a strange number saying they were going to be late. I will be glad when this year is over so we can get back to REAL school...(homeschool that is!!!!)

That's inconsiderate of them, Zoebob. Who did you talk to the last time this happened?

Annie, I'm glad the surgery went well.

I'm fighting some sort of bug. I ache all over and have a low-grade temp. I was sick to my stomach this morning, but that seems to have gone away. Now I just don't want to eat. I hope Joe doesn't get it, he's supposed to do his final driving exam tomorrow.

I know how that goes, but maybe it could be a time to rest for awhile. Glad Noah got through surgery OK!

Sue, I feel like that too. Sort of aching and felt like I had a sore throat yesterday. I think it's what I got from one of the Grandkids for Mother's Day!!!

Judy, for both our sakes, I hope it doesn't last long.

On the upside, Joe is grilling supper. I had planned on having Italian sausages and hotdogs. He started the coals and I boiled the sausages so I won't have to worry about him getting them done all the way.

When it happened before it was always on Sat because the work all week. I just got into the practice of parking in front of the mailbox on Friday and making sure I move before the mail comes (usually about 3:30) but never before noon. I don't know why he was home today. I did mention to landlord but I don't think there's anything he can really do. I want to check with the lady who has the other mailbox and make sure she didn't get it either and then call the cops tomorrow and ask what to do.

Picture this, if you will ...

Kids have been fighting all day ... it's too miserable to go outside to play, so it has been a bunch of grumpy kids in a confined space. I finally get frustrated beyond belief, a few minutes before their usual bedtime, so bedtime becomes NOW! They get ready and go to bed and ds5 is only in there a few minutes ... he comes out and stands right in front of me just staring at me ... I manage to get out a very irked "What is it?" between gritted teeth, as this is the first 'quiet' I've had all day (they got up extra early this morning). "Mooooooommmmmmmy .... I have a question"
... ugh!
"Fine ... what is it??? And realize you are going straight back to bed!"
"God sees everything, right?"
(Teeth still somewhat clenched) "Yes"
"Everything???"
(Did this kid not just hear me?) "YES"

" ... but what if I don't want God watching me go poop???"

ROTFLOL -- I just lost it then ... I couldn't stop howling! I realize he is asking this in earnest, but after the day I've had -- that question was enough to make me lighten up and take a deep breath and just let it all go. I finally pulled myself together long enough (still chuckling) to say something to the effect of "I'm pretty sure God understands the need for modesty and privacy for bathroom business" This kid was the main instigator all day ... I'm glad I won't be going to bed upset about his activities, now that he has (inadvertently) shown me how much I need to lighten up!

As others on here have said, the reason God makes little boys so cute and puts such strange questions in their heads is so we can forgive the really ornary stuff boys do.

Oh and because I hate my van more today than yesterday I didn't get to talk to the principal today. We chatted a little when I got there though. WHen I had hte problems I called my mom to come get me, then my dad to tell him what had happened. Mom showed up then so as we got in her car I tried to call the principal. By the time she got on the phone we were in the parking lot.

Kara, that is too funny! Yep, God definitely makes little boys cute so we let them live.

We had a fun time at Quaker Steak. One warning - don't tell them it's your birthday unless you want to be totally embarrassed! They make you stand up on a chair while they sing. I think it's gonna be a long time before Ashley forgives her dad for this one.

Quaker Steak and Lube serves wings, burgers, steaks, ribs, some seriously awesome soft pretzels with cheese dip (you gotta try those!), a variety of other appetizers, and beverages of the under and over 21 variety. It's not a cheap place to go - pretzels, wings, and beverages for 8 people cost us $150 today (including the tip) - so we don't do it often, but every now and again we treat ourselves.

We went to the sale barn today and actually found what we were looking for plus a few other things, so I am happy. We were pretty much down to 1 lead rope and I just can't stomach paying $8.99 a pop - got 4 of them for 4 bucks apiece at the sale.

Jen, I'm sorry you hate the job. I can relate. I don't totally hate mine but it's definitely not what I'd like to be doing. Since no one talks anyway, maybe listening to music isn't a bad idea. OTOH, maybe you can get 1 person engaged in conversation at some point and start a whole new trend. Just remember it IS temporary, even if it's a long term temporary, and it's paying the bills.

That is so funny.

I am hoping Jerry is home BEFORE my software arrives on Friday. I got the UPS Ship Notice with the date of delivery scheduled for Friday. Soooo I should have my FUN STUFF Friday between 3 and 4 pm.

I also had a call last week from the man that made Triss's Dulcimer- he needs new business cards/price tags and is willing to PAY for them! So I whipped up some new ones for him and managed to get a 2 fer deal on the cards (500) So I sat and re-did the old card layout with the new info and a spot for the price as he was buying silver gel pens to mark the price and mentioned that they were sometimes hard to find and that his wife liked to wander off with them. The new cards can be seen HERE

I kept them the same as the last bunch for the most part. he just wanted the primary name on them so they could use them for BOTH the dulcimers and native flutes. He said they sell more flutes because they are easier to make and cheaper. Sadly he did not have any I could snap at the shop(sold out) so they are not on the card. he punches a hole in the card and writes what the item is and how much on the back.

We got all of our new curriculum yesterday. We are making the switch from KONOS to Rod and Staff this year, and we used part of our stimulus check to order all new curriculum. Of course, we're about eight days from finishing up for this school year, so the kids weren't terribly excited about three boxes of books arriving UPS, but they do look so nice and shiny and new. We spent over $800 this year. I have never in my life spent that much on homeschooling! I think it will be worth it, though. I'm so ready for something more structured.

Ellie-Mae--OOOOoooooooooo how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The stimulus check... I had plans for that $$$. I wanted to get new patio furnature. We've always enjoyed eating dinner outside during the summer. However, the hand-me-down table we have has rotten to the point we can't use it. We didn't eat outside at all last summer. I found what I want for about $350, plus at this store they do the matching 10%. But, dh has decided we are putting the entire $2400 to pay down the mortgage. So, I guess I'm back to saving my $20/week allowance. If dh ever remembers to give it to me (he's months behind).
