Good evening everyone.

Sorry for all the migraine sufferers. Been praying today for you, Lisa, and for .Pammy, too.

Never did get my computer problem fixed. STUpid Vista. STUpid Norton. STUpid IE7. STUpid Microsoft Windows site.

Linux, I'm listening. Talk to me...

Still and all, I had a really nice day and got a lot done.

It was really slow around the forum today: guess that's why I got so much done, eh?

And, this is good night. Gotta get up and lead worship tomorrow, sing at an orchestra recital tomorrow night. Start summer crunch schedule on Monday.

Parlez-vous francais?

besiderself

Sorry you haven't found a resolution to your problem yet! If it's any consolation, I've had to reboot my computer at least twice today (manual reboot... seriously, used my foot!! ), and IE7 restarted itself once or twice today.

hey, y'all. online at my daughter's. she and her roommate just left for an art show. too late for this mama, tho. and i helped her move some stuff still at her old apartment...so my knee is killing me from going up and down 3 flights of stairs so many times. so i'm staying home (well...HER home) while they play. we are going out to suburbs and get my son for lunch for mother's day...so it will ALL be worth it!!!!!!

trying to get caught up on postings. guess it was "headache" time. i actually had to quit driving early yesterday (thank God i didn't have a tight schedule!) cuz i could hardly keep my eyes open and was getting so nauseated. slept for about 2 hrs and then was able to get up and try to eat...but just ended up going back to bed. i'd say today was "moderate." (that's another reason the mama doesn't mind staying home and going to bed early while her baby runs around. kids will be kids...)

i'm just excited to have the both together tomorrow. doesn't happen often anymore.

Kimberly!

I'm so glad you are 'home'. How was work this week? Our schedules have been totally discombobulated.

i'm wondering if fuel prices aren't starting to affect things. i've only gotten about 1500 miles this week...and i don't even deliver this load til 0600 monday! i havent had this much lag time between dispatches since early last summer. i think companies are tightening up on their delivereies.

and i have to note...i (well...the company) paid $4.239/gal for diesel today in IN (yes, john....whiteland...just south of indy)!!!!! that was about $450...and i wasn't even on empty. that is outrageous!! multiply that times the approx 1600 trucks my company owns...that's about $745,000 in fuel costs every 1.5-2 days! can you imagine??? (i think the most i've paid was $602 to FILL UP both tanks...and that was about 3 weeks ago.)

Now Kimberly, do you load and unload cargo as well, or do you just haul it do its destinations instead?

oh, no sir...no touching of freight for me! that was a major consideration when i was company-shopping. i'd say approx 85-90% of our loads are "drop and hook," meaning i drop an empty trailer...and hook up to a pre-loaded trailer...and continue on my way. the rest of the time, i may "live load" (back onto a door and have to wait while they load trailer)...or "live unload" (i'm sure you get the picture...heehee). it's a pretty cushy driving job, actually. good company.

I keep getting the flirt thread title and this thread title mixed up, so I'm reading it as: It's May and I am too busy to be bored, so I might as well flirt.

Now Colleen, you could go head over there, then there would be 3 women to flirt with!

I seem to be having trouble with my computer or this site, not sure which.
Flirting makes me nervous. I think if I read through the thread sometime it might help re-enforce that it is all in fun.

Okay, THIS is why it's gross to live in FL during the summer - it's 78 degrees at 6am, and the humidity is over 80% - and it's only May 11th! Can you imagine what it'll be like come July and August? We don't go below 80+ even at night - because of the humidity and surrounding water. The only time it cools down below that is during thunderstorms - where it'll go into the lower 70's, but only for a short period of time - as soon as the storm passes and the sun comes back out, it goes right back up to near 90 again but is very steamy.

Good morning! Kimberly, so good to see you! Really glad you'll have Mother's Day tomorrow with your son and daughter both together. That's really special. Also great that you're having an easy week.

Don't know if I've mentioned. Two of the couples in my church home group are in the trucking industry. Three of the people are drivers, the other is a dispatcher. Two do short runs, one just went (I think this is the term) long haul, or maybe it's OTR like you? He'll be gone most of the week. Probably not be able to attend our group anymore for awhile.

Anyway, between them and you, it's all been giving me a new appreciation of the industry.
Where would we be without you guys! Here's a great big thank you!

Morning, Lisa. Sounds like a nice temperature, but combined with that humidity, yeah, yuck. Well, I'm sure you've lived with it long enough that you've come up with ways to handle it.

Hope you have a good day! Hope you all have good Mother's Days!

Amem to this!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we do find ways of coping - it's AC to AC to AC, much like what you all have to do in the winter in going from heat to heat to heat.

I have to always keep frozen water with me to keep from getting overheated....because when I do, it's NOT pretty. I can get sick VERY fast. I really do hate the heat. I like it comfortably warm, BUT, I hate the humidity. Right now, it feels like it's 85 outside, and the sun isn't even up yet! We deal with this for up to 4 months without a break. Imagine being in a sauna for that long, and it'll give you an idea of our wx. Your brother is lucky being in the keys - because the islands don't get it quite as bad - they have the constant sea breezes. We get them in the afternoons - the mornings and until we get the showers - that's when it's brutal. Oh, and right now - until our afternoon storms kick in - we'll get into the mid-upper 90's without the storms to cool us off. Until early-mid June, it's nasty. Once the rainy season starts, it's much more tolerable. We just can't go anywhere without an umbrella. LOLOL

Yeah, I don't think I can do Florida summers! Sounds brutal to have 78 degrees at 6 AM. I like it being kind of cool in the morning, even in July. I'm starting to really appreciate the weather here a lot more!

Hi Pam! I haven't been around much since I moved to the big city! Plus, the weather's nicer so I've been spending more time outdoors and less on CW.
