Good for you that you e-mailed your pastor with a heads-up. Since there are some from your church going to this thing, it would be great if the pastor devoted the next meeting to apologetics and warn the flock of this very real danger.

Unfortunately, I don't see that hapening. (That's a whole different thread.)

MOST "CONTAGIOUS" ANOINTING - Florida - WARNING!
-Andrew Strom.

Todd Bentley has declared that his Florida anointing is the most
"contagious" that he has ever imparted to people. (In other words,
the most easily transferable). And indeed this seems to be the
case. It is spreading rapidly throughout the world.

But what exactly is this anointing? One observer of the Florida
revival notes: "Todd Bentley constantly manifests his "anointing"
by shaking his head back and forth, and by his body physically
shaking. These manifestations also happen frequently in those
who he imparts to. He will even wave his arms over the audience,
shouting, "Fire! Fire! Fire!" and then people in the audience will
start manifesting. Some appear to be convulsing, and some even
as if they are being thrashed by a spirit."

In a CBN News interview, Todd stated: "Our focus here in Florida
every night is I lay hands on every single person who comes -
whether it's 5,000, 10,000 - And I'm praying every night, 'God, give
it away, give it away, give it away.' And that's the focus here: Impartation."

And indeed there are more and more reports of this anointing being
transmitted from Florida to other states and nations across the globe.

As we have already seen, a report from England tells of a preacher
who brought Todd's anointing back from Florida and now it is
manifesting in his UK meetings: "Fire, a burning sensation, was
felt all over people's bodies... There were outbursts of joy, drunken-
ness and spontaneous healings throughout the meeting."

A man from Clearwater, Florida says that a number of people from
his fellowship have attended the revival and then brought the
'anointing' back with them. Here is what he personally saw:

"These are the effects that I have witnessed on people who have
attended this movement and either have had hands laid on them or
claim to have been imparted with "the spirit":
-They come back with this kind of childlike drunken stupor.
-Descriptions of a burning sensation either in their veins, heads or
stomachs.
-Descriptions of being washed back and forth like the waves in the ocean;
-Dancing about like drunk...
-Inappropriate yelling and screaming like they're at a football game;
-Young men whistling over and over and holding their heads and
claiming that they "feel the Holy Spirit about to split them in two";
-One young man's back two teeth turned completely to some
metallic finish.
-People with their eyes rolled in the back of their heads and weaving
around like they're lost.
-Women just gyrating and pulsating like they're being ravaged from
behind from some unseen force.
-Drunken uncontrollable laughter in the middle of a solemn prayer time…
-People being "slain in the spirit"... just falling down and being
unable to move (like something's holding them down)..."

Another eyewitness from the USA writes:

"A friend of mine invited me to a church where the ministry team
brought back a "Fire" from the Lakeland revival… The pastor's wife
was moderating, but she could not complete her sentences
because she was 'drunk in the Spirit.' She imitated the type of
sounds I read in your blog. I saw people breaking out into
uncontrollable laughter. I came with my Bible to receive a word…
There was no teaching or preaching. Just testimonies. They talked
about their experience in Lakeland... Where was the word? I did
not find any. I also heard a sound BAM and then I saw someone
being slain in the spirit."

A Spirit-filled pastor that I know from the UK who has been following
Todd Bentley's ministry closely for some years wrote to me about
what he himself has observed since the year 2000:

"My difficulty with Todd Bentley's ministry is not whether he has
recently covered himself with tattoos or pierced himself silly, but
the SOURCE of his power. He keeps changing his position on this.
Sometimes he says it's the Holy Spirit and a lot of the time it's his angels…

"Many have said that they believe that Florida is a 'mixture'.
Personally, I do not believe 'mixture' is involved. I believe these
deceiving spirits have hi-jacked Todd's ministry… Either the healings
are of God or they are not. Which is it?

"People can be healed in spiritualist churches. I have witnessed,
close-up, first hand, people being instantly healed by mediums
and faith healers. I have also seen people healed by the power of
the Holy Spirit. To begin with there is no discernible difference.
However the counterfeit healings soon begin to either go wrong or
something far worse comes upon the person.

"When God heals someone - He adds 'no sorrow.'

"I know Todd started off OK - I was there in his early meetings…
In September 2000 I stood in front of Todd and gave him the
warning that God gave me for him. "Beware, the leaven of the
Pharisees, lest an angelic leaven enters your ministry."

"One month later, according to Todd's own account, at a meeting
in Grants Pass Oregon, Cal Pierce walked in with Branham's
'Healing Revival' angel in tow, Todd saw and accepted this spirit
without reservation. His 'angels' have been with him ever since.

"I have written to Todd on numerous occasions and reminded him
of God's warning, alas to no avail.

"When Todd Bentley conducted a healing meeting in a large
charismatic church here in England in 2005, he laid hands on
many people who were apparently healed. I know of at least one
instance where a pastor's wife with cancer was prayed for by Todd.
Soon afterwards she heard voices in her head telling her to 'drown
herself just like her father did'. The poor woman ended up in a
mental hospital, I believe she still has the cancer.

"No-one is following up or keeping records of what happens to
people who have hands laid on them by Todd or others like him.

"I have kept records as far as I can, concerning this particular
church. Over a relatively short period, there has been a dramatic
increase in premature deaths, cancers, marriage break-ups,
sickness and disease amongst the congregation where the
leadership have allowed this type of ministry into their church.
Many people left the church in fear.

"These are the consequences of following this type of 'ministry'
which no-one is either aware of, or wants to address. I know, I have
visited the people in hospital and attended one of the funerals…"
[END QUOTE]

Meanwhile we find a number of prominent leaders beginning to
declare that this will be one of the greatest revival movements in
history. Some even see it as the beginning of a "new awakening".

Bob Jones declared that "This move will be a global move, traveling
with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!"

As this 'anointing' spreads worldwide, I believe there are some
serious questions that we need to ask ourselves:

Isn't it possible, with all the dubious 'anointings' and angels and
manifestations associated with Bentley's ministry, that what we
are really seeing is a giant 'counterfeit' revival? Isn't it possible
that if it continues to grow at the present rate, that it may literally
become one of the great "delusions" of the Last Days - a great
deception that has the power to actually deceive, if possible, the
very elect?

These are very serious questions - but I believe they must be
asked - because this 'anointing' is already beginning to circle the globe.

If you have been to a meeting where someone has brought the "fire"
back from Florida, please write and tell me what you saw. I am
collecting accounts from people about this.

Wolves and merchandisers of men. Shame on anyone for falling for these cons, they have no excuse when the Bible is complete and perfect for all our needs.

Thanks for posting that, walkin2e. It's really good to know that others are seeing what we're seeing and are exposing the reality rather than the hype.

Did John and Rosa ever appear?

In the part two video a Rosa appears alone and gets a big prophecy for herself and her husband whom Todd "prophetically" speaks was never received by the church in the prophetic gift. Then over on Todd's right a quivering John says his mother's name is Rosa and Todd says some things to him.

Also there's a restaurant downtown two blocks from here called "Rosie's" and my best friend's name is Jon...and there I am watching the video! Amazing!!!

WOW!! I just found this site, and I can't believe what you people are saying. All the criticism and judgement is making me sick. This site seems like a haven for nothing but gossip. I don't know Todd Bentley, nor am I a "follower of his ministry", but I would never judge the man. Only God knows the heart of man, and is able to judge. I have also read lots of criticizing statements about other christians like Mike Bickle and so on. I can't believe it! Just be careful what you say. Because these men that you are judging and calling names might really be used by the Holy Spirit, and if they are, I think what you are doing is considered blasphemy. This is the last time I will come to a site like this. I pray that God will give you discernment, and love for people, even those who you don't like or agree with. Because I know that all of this criticizing and gossiping is NOT the holy spirit.

Ahh, yes, I was waiting for the "gossip and slander" flock to arrive. I do not know Todd's heart, by I do hear his words, I do see his actions, and I do have enough discernment to know that this guy is leading people astray.

Why would Christians testing things in light of Scripture make you sick?

Why wouldn't you judge someone's teachings, proclamations, declarations of truth, and practices in light of Scripture? Not doing so is being disobedient to the Word.

Can you provide any Scripture to substantiate your claims? Because my Bible doesn't have any context that even alludes to your warning.

Some people accept literally anything, I mean anything that is done under the name of Jesus. REGARDLESS of all facts and all Scripture.

Jesus called those people a wicked generation and God said He will send them a strong delusion.

Sounds about right.

I know people are being taught that to disagree with their leaders is akin to blasphemy. That doesn't make it so.

This is the basis of your thinking? "Because these men that you are judging and calling names might really be used by the Holy Spirit, and if they are,...." How is God offended by the examination of the "might be" part of your own statement? Couldn't your doubt here be the same thing?

The Pharisee's were not believers, they were sinners dead in their sin.

Also, Christians are called to test all things in light of Scripture, to warn the brethren and cling to sound doctrine. Like I have said for years, some people will accept anything and everything done by a flashy guy using Christian words.

It is indeed quite ironic, right?

I am reminded of those in my wife's old church that said if you ever dare question or even doubt anything being said by their "Prophets" and "Apostles" then you were doing the work of Satan and touching God's anointed, hence going to hell.

A Spirit-filled pastor that I know from the UK who has been following
Todd Bentley's ministry closely for some years wrote to me about
what he himself has observed since the year 2000:

I would love to know who this is that he's quoting.

Again, and I think I speak for almost everyone who is posting their concerns here, we're not debating signs and miracles. God is more than able to do whatever whenever, however He choses. But He does not and will not go against His own Word and He has commanded us to judge these things and not be deceived. What this guy is doing jus plain doesn't like up and we need to be smart.

I'm a little worried being this close to it and already hearing rumblings of it in my own church (and having the one friend who went) is that if this shows up in my church I'm outta there! There are several people in my church who know my background in WOF and some really silly stuff who know I'll bolt and I'll make sure they all know why. I wont stand for anything that smacks of spirit guides and experience/emotion based faith. My pastor has preached on the spirit of antichrist and deception in the end times. He doesn't seem to clued in yet to what's at the fringes of our church but I pray he will be discerning and take a hard line on keeping things in perspective.

Criticism and judgment aren't always a bad thing. Just sayin'

criticize: to consider the merits and demerits of and judge accordingly : evaluate 2 : to find fault with : point out the faults of

judgment: 4 a: the process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing b: an opinion or estimate so formed5 a: the capacity for judging : discernment b: the exercise of this capacity6: a proposition stating something believed or asserted

Oh and welcome!

Interesting....Testing teaching against Sripture and exposing it when it is false is now considered gossip and blasphemy. Oh, the things I learn on this forum!

If you do not "know" Todd Bentley, how can you assume that we are "gossping" about him? Many here have posted direct quotes, audio, and video PRROF of his demonic activity.

hahahahahaha.....that just struck my funny bone.

What I really want is a fatness healing. Be gone demon of fatness! Sadly, I actually heard someone excitedly telling about just such a thing at a recent revival (I'm not sure if it was this "outpouring" or not, but it was just about the time it started). "Oh, yes, I was there and I saw this huge woman, and the fat just melted right off her, disappeared! She lost 150 lb instantly!".

ORIGINAL: walkin2e (from the Andrew Strom letter)

"People can be healed in spiritualist churches. I have witnessed,
close-up, first hand, people being instantly healed by mediums
and faith healers. I have also seen people healed by the power of
the Holy Spirit. To begin with there is no discernible difference.
However the counterfeit healings soon begin to either go wrong or
something far worse comes upon the person.

"When God heals someone - He adds 'no sorrow.'

We have shepherds who have not bothered themselves to learn to know the difference. They endorse any of these meetings, in contrast to Todd's assertion I posted yesterday that previous "revivals" criticize new ones. That's one of the tools, one of the walls of a box of deception that leads astray. I've been in charismatic churches and heard the old "Saul can't accept that the anointing is on David" and of course you don't want to be a Saul, rejected of God. However, the tormenting spirit came to Saul, who had been anointed king over Israel. Saul was concerned about losing power and position. How do the followers of some of the "miracles" ministers react when they losing credibility in the eyes of others? David himself considered Saul God's anointed and in so doing showed us a Christ-like attitude, "who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."
(Philippians 2:6-8)

Yet what is the attitude of those who seek miracles and power? In a previous quote I posted Bentley wondered if he could "pay the price" for a great ministry. Simon Magus thought he could pay a price for God's power--"saying, "Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
(Acts 8:19)

A wrong understanding of Who God is and how He works will lead into deception.

A counterfeit healing coming with the baggage of a price would be a really hard way to have to learn to discern.

quote:

ORIGINAL: walkin2e (from the Andrew Strom letter)

"I know Todd started off OK - I was there in his early meetings…
In September 2000 I stood in front of Todd and gave him the
warning that God gave me for him. "Beware, the leaven of the
Pharisees, lest an angelic leaven enters your ministry."

"One month later, according to Todd's own account, at a meeting
in Grants Pass Oregon, Cal Pierce walked in with Branham's
'Healing Revival' angel in tow, Todd saw and accepted this spirit
without reservation. His 'angels' have been with him ever since.

The "angels" are a _huge_ clue. There has been some discussion in these threads about Branham. His story is tragic, loaded with supernatural events and false doctrine. The same kind of thing was going on with healings being claimed and denied. From his calling by an "angel" as a voice from a tree, which frightened him, to his "miracles" accomplished with angelic help, there is a lot to question. I think an examination of Branham's and Bentley's angels is something we need to do and have already started to do in this thread.

Have any of you guys ever read Frank Peretti's "The Visitation"? Bentley reminds me alot of Brandon Nichols from that book. If you can get it from your local library I would recomend it.

What a thread for adowell0007 to choose as their first dip into the forum pond!! I figure they hit and run and will not stay to discuss their post.
But for those out there who have been lulled into as Keith Green sang "asleep in the Light" by accepting everything and judging nothing welcome to the real world of "powers and principalities that Paul spoke of.
I've heard it said we should not be "fruit inspectors", but that is exactly what we need to be especially as the days grow more evil and the love of many grow cold.
It is sad that congregations will accept the loud and brash with open arms, but if a person comes from some back village in timbucktu to share the struggles and trials of living a life of holiness you get the faithful few to show up.

adowell0007, You haven't seen anything yet. If you hang around here long enough you will see. If you don't fall in lock step with some of these people your an idiot. If you don't interpret the scriptures exactly the way they do, your a heretic. And what will really get you is the way they let you know. Not in a loving Christ like way. As a fellow Christian should do if he thinks your going astray ( scripturally)... But in an arrogant, " your a buffoon" way. Yea... the love of Christ really abounds here in some of these people. But don't be dishearted. There are a lot of people here who will encourage you, and when they see your going in the wrong direction they will offer you a guiding hand without being judgmental. I would offer you this same advise. If you can help someone, please do so. And if they have a different belief then you do. don't degrade them. Who knows in the end they may be right. Never assume your right just because momma took you to the first righteous church when you were growing up. I don't know this Todd Bentley, infact I have never heard of him till now. And to be honest he sounds kind of strange, but who knows. Some people get up and read the newpaper, or watch TV and spit out all kinds of opinions based solely on second hand knowledge. You will see this forum is a magnet for them. I would never offer an opinion unless I heard him either in person, or a DVD of his sermon.
