I want to start a band. Need some advice on where to go, and how to recruti Jesus freaks who wanna play some music for the Lord.

why dont you find out who plays that you know.

and ask them.
then go from there.

deb's right. just ask around. sometimes you have to go without an instrument or two for awhile. i was part of a band once with no bassist and no lead guitar. hehehe. actually, it was only me and the drummer. ok, bad example.

The way I went was...I asked my youth pastor what other teens played an instrument. I took the list, and first asked the ones I knew well, then the ones that are faithful to church, then the others.
It wasn't too hard.
You might want to keep in mind the types of music your band will play, and tell them the genre first. That way you don't get people wanting to play something else.
(like rock instead of praise and worship) - just an example.

I play a little guitar aand a little drums but i mostly sing and write soo write now my bff and i are a two woman ensamble !! note : Vocals + drums does not = band !!

i'm a singer if you need one! i've been wanting to start a band as well but it's hard to find people. even online. i have a music program on my computer that will allow to mix, publish, all that kind of stuff.

anyway, God's given me a talent for singing and I know it should be used. He's also been giving me a lot of inspiration for songs lately. i posted one of my recent songs under share what you've written. it's easy to do music collaboration online. everyone record their parts and then exchange through email. you just send the file as an attachment. i'm up for any genre.

DITTTO on the genre thing except for heavy metal/hard rock i looove rock but my voice won't allow me to do it !! I'm too clear and high !! i'm more pop/countryish for what i sound good on but i can play anythng !! u need me i can record it @ muh house and send it in !!

I used to not be able to sing rock/metalcore. I had been trained to sing P&R at church.

But after a looooooong time practicing, I've managed to train my voice to go deeper and accompish satisfying hardcore vocals. Backups, though, in the mold of Project 86 and Demon Hunter.

Yeah, but Mute Math was Earthsuit before that. They were already established musicians. Filling in the blanks was a lot easier.
