crownofbeautyandothers, From those I know whose children are late teens and very early adults, I have both seen this kind of thing enough to call it fairly common. They certain are still growing up. Their worlds become much bigger at this point, things get more stressful, and it takes them a few years to gain some equilibrium. Having said that, we as parents still hold up a standard of behavior and accountability, even though our relationships give us fewer options for consequences and seem to change from moment to moment. I find this period to be exhilarating, exasperating, joyful, and heartbreaking all at once, and I'm the Mom .
