Kathryn I nannied a little girl for a summer and had to take her on a trip to meet up with her parents, she was a super wiggly sleeper so I brought her Dora sleeping bag (it was kid size so pretty small, you could for sure sew one out of a quilt) and she slept in the middle of the bed in that. Whenever she tried to roll she just got stuck and didn't move. It worked great!

We are doing the traveling this weekend. I am planning on taking her toddler sleeping bag (hand made by someone, can't remember who!) and putting her sideways on the bed on top of sheets that have pillows underneath it on either side. LOL! You think I'm kidding, I'm not. I think this will work. If I remember correctly, she wouldn't move a muscle when she was swaddled. She started moving a lot when we stopped swaddling her.

At her grandparents she sleeps on a camp mattress with a soft comforter folded up underneath her. She's gotten much better at not rolling out now of that. For one night, I think I might do that instead. I'll just take the sheets off the bed and use them. Besides she's used to that. And if she has problems during the night, I'll just bring her into bed with me. Sigh, I hope not, last time I did that I had feet all over me. Ah, but I love my girl.

Well I hope you have a wonderful trip! I know that if we tried to have Hannah sleep in the 'big bed' in the hotel that she'd just get up out of it and run amok! Though she's of course very well behaved in her own 'big girl bed' here at home for her one nap and her bed time. It would all just be too much too fast, imo...so just don't forget about the hotel crib as an option.

So, she really wanted to sleep in the big bed (in fact that was one of the first things she wanted to do when we got in the room!) So I took two pillows put them sort of at the top at either edge, took the flat sheet and laid it over top of the pillows, put her between the pillows (she still had room to move) and she had her own little pillow. Then I tucked the top comforter into the mattress. She didn't move. Well that's not true, she moved up and was touching the headboard in the morning, but she did fine. I think she was so tired, she just kinda stayed in one spot. So it worked!
