Amped88 -> Getting Stronger (5/6/2008 7:31:26 PM)

Thank to all that read this brief explanation of why I am here, and a bit about myself....

I am here because I am searching for new things to do with my time and to get encouragement as well as give encouragement if i can. I am a 34 yr old male that has a 7 year old son, of whom I think is one of the greatest things to ever happen in my life. I have been in the Navy for 15.5 years and will retire from it. Currently I have a wonderful girlfriend named Brandi and we have came together because of God. Lately I believe God has been calling me, and wants me to do more for him rather than live my mundane life. I am getting stronger in my faith but want to continuously improve. For instance if something bad happens in my life I want to be at the point where I immediately turn to God and not to say drinking or friends etc..

I want to do a couple of things to live better for God. I need help to stop being a weekend warrior and running out of gas and sliding back to my old ways. This usually happens by Tuesday and then by Saturday I start sparking up for God again.

I want to get more christians in my life, in which I am starting because I have been being more social at church than I have before.

I named myself Amped88 because I am a huge Dale jr. fan. I watch NASCAR a lot and follow all the drama etc.

I used to be a weekend warrior too. I'd go to church, then slip back into the depths of sin by mid-week. Best of luck and prayers to you.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan of racing. I prefer beer pong. (J/K!!!!!) Christians aren't supposed to drink. I think? Well, anyways enjoy the forums!

Welcome fellow newbie! Thanks for your military service!
You sound committed to strengthening your relationship with the Lord. I'm sure if you continue to seek Him, God will give you the strength and fortitude to live every day for Him.
God bless!
